@Gorilla72 6.5points per game on 42% shooting, for a big that’s rough.
Udeh’s 10 points (64%) 9 rebound average is solid. Looks like he’s turning into a contributor.
I was disappointed when they left. I wonder how one or both would’ve developed at KU, but Hunt and Flory are much more talented/better.
-
@dylans Udeh I was disappointed in leaving, I think he had grown into a solid player. Flory I think has a higher ceiling than both. But with KJ and Hunt on the roster before they dipped out. They knew playing time would be pretty limited.
-
Flagg is going to be terrific but he’s had a BRUTAL last couple minutes.
-
Haha, I feel bad making fun of a freshman in college but Flagg commits two turnovers when Duke had a chance to tie or take lead in last 15 seconds.
-
@FarmerJayhawk who guards him?
-
Future opponent Oakland played Illinois toughly last night. Didn’t win, but they were no slouches.
Minnesota scores 14 first half points on their way to a loss to N. Texas.
-
Washington was losing by 11 at the half to Seattle Pacific a D3 team. Came back strong in the 2nd but goodness that’s bad.
-
Oakland did lose by a little bit in their previous game, a 44 pt loss to Boise St. I think it says more about Illinois then anything we shall see…
-
Cam Carter and LSU kind of hanging it on K/State at the half 43-31.
Actually had a chance to be up by 20 at the half but a couple of TO’S by LSU late and a three by the kitty’s now down 12-- Ya the same Cam Carter that played at K/State now at LSU
-
Cats STINKY
-
@FarmerJayhawk that was poor coaching on Scheyer‘s part. I’m gonna ISO a 17 year old repeatedly with the game in the balance against JRs and SRs with ample experience ( odd saying that about UK). It will be interesting to see how much longer before they are callling for Scheyer’s head. Especially with Blias and Jay Williams yapping about how this the most talented team Dook has had in decades. Jay said it was the only team that could rival the 2001 national team he was on which was loaded with NBA talent.
-
K strighty got their tails handed to them on the Boards- -43 – -25 , need we say more ? - Hawkins id not impress me, Cam Carter ended up with 20 for LSU
-
@jayballer67 they sure hype up Hawkins after last game like he was a god
-
@kjayhawks nobody’s going to do less with more. Flagg would be the perfect 4 for this team and KU did all they could but alas was not meant to be.
-
@FarmerJayhawk KJ definitely wouldn’t be starting and that may have played a role. Hopefully Self reminds KJ of this before the game lol
-
@kjayhawks exactly lol. Nike was somewhat trying to protect their investment only for him to turn around and sign with… New Balance
-
@FarmerJayhawk that’s the thing right now with NIL, it’s gonna be who can give me the biggest check right now.
-
As much as I despise the kittens, I DO have to say that if Jimmy Dykes could bury his nose any further up LSU’S ass he would break it for sure- - His bias towards the SEC is un bearable Every single time LSU would do something/Anything Dykes would be like OH what great defense- -or how solid they were- just on and on- -it was so wet from him choking up SEC Bullshit - -always been that way
-
@kjayhawks If you think KJ would have sat if Flagg came here you don’t know Self.
Flagg would have played the 3 spot and started next to Kj, Hunt, Juan and pick your 5th starter
No way senior Kj is not starting….Bill has never done this especially with his favorites

KJ Adams is a better basketball player than Coleman Hawkins.
Coleman through three games at KSU looks…exactly how he did at Illinois. The idea of Coleman is better than the actual basketball player. Oh and shockingly, guards from Cal State Fullerton and UIC don’t look great against real comp. But they go back to playing Slap Dick State and Grab Ass Tech after this, so they can have more more feel good wins. Their roster is very strange, loaded up on middling big men.
-
@BShark “Grab Ass Tech” Is that where Chris Beard coached?
-
@wissox - Rick Pitino, IIRC.
-
@Gorilla72 Sadly there’s a list and it grows.
-
Missed the KState game. Took a break from hoops and watched the interesting golf movie The Long Drive on Netflix. True story about a bunch of Mexican kids at a border HS in Texas 60 years ago who won the state championship. The movie would have sucked if it was fictional because it was presented as too far fetched to be true.
-
Wisconsin 55-44 over Arizona. Oh I should add at the half!!
-
@wissox well you are having a good night so far then lol
-
Labaron with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists……we missed a legit pg
-
This game made the eyes bleed. 63 fouls called, almost evenly, 87 FT’s shot. Zona was great rebounding, but couldn’t stop fouling and old friend Caleb Love made a crucial foul and technical when a kid said something to him and Caleb shoved him. Then the Badgers made a three. 7 point swing . It really helps a lot when you make FT’s and UW is leading the nation this year in percent. 41-47 from the stripe. Another way to look at is they made 25 shots, but scored 103 points.
-
It’s really annoying how early in the year the refs call EVERYTHING then in 2 months Hunter will get all but assaulted and no call
-
@FarmerJayhawk I saw Arizona’s chat page and they were worried that the BIG 12 would be officiated like that. It’s hard to describe the badness of BIG12 refs, but it’s never been like tonight!
-
Caleb Love still out there living his best life, building brick houses with all the shots he misses! After basketball he can become a professional brick mason
-
47! Free throws!?! At what point do the refs start to think maybe the fans are here to see the players and not us?
-
87 combined fts is horrific…
-
@BShark It was really fascinating because Tonje (who is a Missouri transfer) really appeared to just be trying to draw contact. And Arizona didn’t adjust.
Seems to me we had a turkey week game once, maybe against Duke (?) that was similar in numbers of fouls. Anyone remember that?

He doesn’t help himself. He reacts to all those hacks with a look of shock, going to the refs and saying things, and gesturing with his hands/arms he was hacked.
Instead… he should do more of putting on an injury show after he gets hacked. That’s a lot more effective at earning calls. Let Self impose ref pressure. Players, especially big men, just don’t get respect and whining to refs only makes it worse!
-
Arizona had 6 assists in that game on 28 made FG’s. They also were +24 in total rebounds and +22 in offensive rebounds, and +24 in FG attempts that game.
Also of note last night and not mentioned yet, Purdue knocked off Alabama.
-
6-Purdue at 15-Marquette at 8 on FS1 is worth checking in on during our breaks tonight. Marquette favored by 5.5 is a surprise to me.
-
Baylor beat St. John’s in double OT after trailing by 18 at on point. Jeremy Roach made a 3 at the buzzer after former Jayhawk Zuby Ejiofor missed a pair of FT’s while St. John’s was up 2 with about 6 seconds left.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I’d run on the treadmill, came home a sweaty mess and decided to go upstairs to shower when it read 9.3 seconds and St. Johns up by 5 so I figured no chance. What a shocker!
-
Ouch. Tough ending for Zuby. But I’m glad he’s not missing his free throws for us.
-
Zuby had 22/10 in 42 minutes, but only 6/12 at the stripe. He’s showing potential.

BIG 12 looking strong early. League teams only have two losses and both losses are to ranked teams. Of course Baylor got whooped, but then beat Arkansas. Got quite a few wins against ranked teams already.
B12 has a gaudy record with only the 2 losses, but only 4 teams have played a decent foe - virtually no Power 5 opponents. Basically, the B12 is 3-2 against ranked teams - wins against UNC, Arkansas and TA&M - losses to Gonzaga and Auburn…
So, the B12 is NOT looking so strong a week or so later. 5 undefeated teams, but only the Hawks have played a P5 team. 11 non-conferences losses, only a couple of bad ones, but only KU, Baylor and UCF have wins against a P5 opponent.
-
Whoa, Tennessee beating Baylor by 20 midway through first half.
-
Baylor looks atrocious
-
47-20 at the half.
-
Nebby knocks off Creighton. Upset? We know Fred is a pretty decent coach.
-
Iowa loses to Utah St. LOL
-
Would be neat if dook Zona goes to about 3 overtimes. Also bizarre they’re playing a road game in November
-
Hey guys did you know Flagg is 17

First I’ve heard of it, broadcast teams never bring this up! Weird!
