Best case scenario but even without a tear…he really…eh I’m not a doctor lol
-
@BShark good range of motion. Starting rehab, contact on Monday.
-
Self sounds really good!

Really does sound like best case scenario. No tears is really what we had to hope for.

Hunter and Kevin will both be playing when it counts.

Yep. Wednesday will be hilarious though.

I really hope he’s ok. My shoulder has been messed up since October (should’ve let go of that dang gate…) with no visible tears. Might need the bursa sac scoped out - I’m no athlete so I’ll just deal with the pain for a few more months and see if it heals itself. ie the dumb I’m tough guy routine. - let it hurt for a year and get it scoped anyway instead of getting it done right away.
If Hunter can just recover with no surgery or long term issues…that would be amazing. It looked bad.
-
@dylans Plenty of football players only miss a couple of plays with dislocated shoulders because it was just the joint popping out with no other damage. It sounds like this is the case with Dickinson where it was just the joint popping out with no other damage so Dickinson with almost 2 weeks of rest should be fine for the NCAA Tournament.

Hopefully, the MRI is correct and there is no labral tear. Unfortunately, there can be false negatives, meaning that the MRI says it is fine, when there is actually a tear. If the labrum is actually intact, then he has long-standing laxity of the ligaments, which increases the likelihood of a dislocation or subluxation (partial dislocation) happening again.
I pray that the treatment he receives helps to strengthen the muscles around the joint enough so it provides stability to his shoulder and does not affect the mechanics of his shot in the short-term if he feels confident enough to play. I see too many people suffering the after-effects of an injury in their youth wishing they had taken better of themselves. If I had a nickel for every time I hear that “getting old is not for sissies” or “the golden years are not so golden” I’d be rich.
I am not an orthopedist or sports medicine guru. Just sharing the information I gathered by reading various articles off the NIH site.

Hard to know what the emotional impact will be on Hunter (and still some degree, Kevin) moving forward. Even if Hunter is healthy, it may take a while to reset on his shot. Or maybe not. Kevin may not go diving hard for balls because of his knee.
Both guys risk a lot if not 100%.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I am sure the doctor’s are top notch, but I prefer to tampen down expectations in case he is not able to play.
Hopefully, Hunter is pain-free and has great range of motion without limitation.

Holy crap!
Cincy MADE 16 3 pt shots tonight. That’s like six games worth for us!
I hope our small ball lineup is better equipped to handle that!
-
I know with how things are playing out - chances are we do get beat tonight. I have no problem with Coach decision to hold Hunter & Kevin out, well really not much of an option anyways BUT might as well let them rest , hopefully be ready for the Tourney.
I know we will probably just get creamed on the boards-- -But I think it would be funny as hell if some how we could manage to win this 1st game with the line up we will face putting on the floor tonight, Would love to hear what Greenburg had to say then,-- He was all fired up about Cinn beating us and playing Baylor tomorrow, shut him up.
I mean I get it all these other teams and fan bases eating this up while the Big Dog is down , they know they better take advantage while they can- - -I get that, BUT you don’t poke a sleeping Bear. --I actually have a lot more faith & belief that we ARE NOT going to be nearly as bad as a few in here think next year, so like I said kick us while were down, cause when we get up and WE WILL GET —LOOK THE f - - - OUT, were kickin ass and not takin names --you’ve be warned. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG
-
So much of it will depend on the mindset of those playing tonight. Their approach to it will determine if it’s a game or not.

Your absolutely right. I saw on ESPN last night where a team , I can’t remember the team , I think is was a lower conference but they went out and won I believe their Championship with only seven healthy players Now I know lower level but in theory anyways and were not playing for Championship game BUT it can be done, you get kids with the correct mindset, roll the ball out and play the game.
You go out with the mindset - -well we are going to get curb stomped before you even step on the floor , then why even STEP FOOT ON THE FLOOR? you go in with that approach might as well not even suit out, just tell them to mail the score in and go from there. Bottom line is the Basket is still the same in circumference - – it’s still 10 ft high , and the other teams players put their shoe’s on one at a time just like us — roll the ball out and see what happens. - -You never know

If our remaining KJ, JF, DH, NT, EJ, PB and JM score up to their averages we have 42 points in the bank. I hope for a 40% three ball night please. Will Bill want to feed PB as our first option or what? Even if everyone scores in double digits circa 70 points it may not be enough.

Parker not even gonna start it sounds. - -sounds like they going to play KJ at the 5 - - and Timberlake, and Furphy , and Harris And probably Jackson.
For the people thats had the season long bitch about Harris not trying to score enough – Welp you got your wish tonight I’m sure-- - for us to have any chance he is going to have to really try a lot more tonight

ya they just said he might be able to play SOME BUT, we need to keep KJ on the floor as much as possible

@jayballer67 KU just needs to get out of the game healthy more than anything else. Self’s clearly not worried about winning anything this week as he’s never cared much about the B12 Tournament.

Ya I mean seriously, who thought e could/would do anything when the top two scorers are out. - -I’m so glad though this it it this year for Nick— -he just hasn’t done a thing for 90% of the Season. - -Mercy we need shooters,
