Really sucks that we mostly all saw at least something like this coming. There are some things that warrant a second chance at the limelight and others that just don’t. I hope he gets some help and can figure out how to exist in this world without harming others. But glad he’s not going to play an official game in crimson and blue.

In general I’m in favor of second chances but a second chance at a place like Kansas was not what he deserved. With his baggage he needed to drop down to the mid-major level, pay his dues, play well, and keep his record clean for a year, then after that returning to elite college ball could be an option. Allowing him to play for us after the past he’s had sends the wrong message.

The article states it was forceful in a bit more detailed way than I needed. But if she had to deal with it it’s the least I can do to read, comprehend, and try to understand what happened. Just a horrible deal.

@dylans Is there a state pen in Leavenworth to go with the 2 fed pens? Lansing has one, too, doesn’t it? My court-martialed clients were in the federal military prison in Leavenworth, but I never dealt with the Kansas prisons and can’t remember how they were organized.

@mayjay definitely a state prison in Lansing. Which, fun fact. Some of which was built during the LINCOLN administration. I think club fed is the only thing in Leavenworth.

If you don’t want to read more about Morris, you don’t have to open the threads about him. Given that he was on the team and is now a former player and that this incident happened at KU I feel it merits discussion.

Yeah the whole day has been draining so I read into something that wasn’t there I’d think. Just an all around very sad situation.

It was not Arterio (that I’m aware of) and no one was hurt last I knew.

Former Kansas basketball player Arterio Morris is reportedly planning to continue his career at a junior college in California.
The Lawrence Journal-World reported Saturday that Morris, who was dismissed from the KU program in September after being arrested and charged with rape, is set to play at Los Angeles Southwest College. This comes a day after the athletic director at Garden City Community College in Kansas, Mike Pilosof, announced that it was in the best interest of everyone to note that Morris is no longer enrolled at that in-state institution.
Multiple requests to Los Angeles Southwest College have yet to be answered.
According to the Lawrence Journal-World, this was the plan since around Morris’ suspension from the KU program in mid-September — which came after the rape allegation in the state of Kansas. Attending a school in the state of Kansas would have allowed Morris to stay closer to where the court case for his rape charge is being held, but that didn’t work out. Morris is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday in Douglas County District Court in Lawerence.
