Sounds like the Stanford duo isn’t happening now. Wonder who they are really targeting.

Yeah Bossi made it pretty clear the staff didn’t seem interested in Ingram. Very interesting. Thought he looked like a guy Self would like.
-
Wonder if he simply wants a better athlete at the position.

Made Primo Spears final four. Sounds like he will visit.

Nicolas Timberlake visiting KANSAS Friday.

Hard pass. We need shooters.

Love to see this. Need more shooting on the team
-
I’d take both Georgetown guards, a bench shooter, and a big wing. I don’t see a big pit there I really want other than Dickinson and that isn’t happening.

Please tell Bill, because I’m convinced he will add any big with a pulse.
-
Max Abmas from ORU is in. Biggest name in there now. Gotta go all out for him.
Maryland hired Dickisons HS coach so assuming he goes there.
LJ Cryer went in today. Gotta imagine he ends up at KSU
-
@Woodrow a guy named cryer to ksu? Oh the absolute perfection that would be.
-
Rumor is Houston for Cryer so we’ll see how that goes. I’m all for Abmas. Idk how the fit would work exactly but he’s a walking bucket

Who are you hearing are the top targets as of now? Seems like names are all over the board.
-
@Woodrow there aren’t a ton. Timberlake and Ike are probably going to visit this weekend. We’re in Spears’s top 4 but if and until there’s a visit I don’t think it’s that serious.
-
Yeah abmas. I said all that needs to be said here
-
@FarmerJayhawk Love Timberlake off the bench. Hate it if he’d be our starting 3…
-
@BShark but he hits 3s and that’s all that matters in Modern Basketball ️

Bogart/Olympian is that u
-
@BShark all I’m saying is Colgate made 40% as a team so I’m looking forward to their natty parade next week
-
I gotta think the staff has some ideas of guys that will be entering at a later date. To me, it doesn’t seem like they are being that aggressive right now.
-
I mean having a legit three point shooter is a necessity.
Dajuan/Elmarko/Kevin/Transfer/KJ or Udeh
Would just get dared to shoot all game and be the anti-thesis to modern basketball. They’d see more walls in the paint than Giannis.

Dam . Do you REALLY think there is any substance bout the possibility of Kevin coming back ? - -That would be crazy. - What is your feel ? - I just can’t see it -but who knows- must be selling huge NIL if he is

The only concern I have is - Kevin needs more consistency. - Really dam good defender - -pretty decent rebounder. Just needs to become a little more consistent scorer if he comes back. GOD only knows we need someone who will score the ball next season.
-
would anyone like some Spears ?

Probably hearing from NBA folks that he’s not likely to get a two deal which would pay about $1 million and his KU NIL deal would be comparable to what he would make on a G-League deal and more tha he would make anywhere else in the world.
This is pretty much what I said what happen with McCullar’s draft process. If he was likely to be drafted or get a two-way deal, he’d be gone, otherwise he’d probably be back.
-
@TYOHawk one is fine. Some folks are going way overboard saying we have to add all these low and mid major guards just because they shoot it well at that level. In my view you put together complementary pieces who can get good, efficient offense. 3 point% is overrated.

Hunter Dickinson many people are saying
-
-
Yeah, please clarify. Lol
-
Nothing is close but we’ll be in it

We need shooters especially around Juan and Elmarko no offense. Teams won’t treat them like Ben Simmons but we at least need other threats to make driving easier and not having a clogged paint. I agree we don’t need to take a bunch of mid major guards but this team needs shooting and some athleticism on the wing.
-
@Woodrow @RockkChalkk Yeah KU is firmly in the race like @FarmerJayhawk said
-
@TYOHawk the mistake is people saying we need shooters over (and at the expense of) everything else. We absolutely need scoring but Jalen and Kevin were our best rebounders and also could handle it well. Adding one dimensional guys doesn’t do anything for that.
-
I don’t think we land Dickinson. Certainly not getting my hopes up.
The fit is great. And Bill would make him a 1st team AA. But I think it’s going to be damn hard to work out way into that race.

We are in the race but like it’s a strong ass group. He is AWARE that Bill would let him cook and that the Big 12 is a lot more open in style than the BIG.
-
@BShark Dumb question because I didn’t watch a lick of Michigan and he’s 7-1 but are we pitching him as our 4 or 5 man?
I know he could step out and hit the 3. If he played the 4 and Udeh or someone else at the 5 we wouldn’t have a rebounding problem
Or play our 4 best guards with him at the 5….filthy
-
@kuballin10 He’s definitely a 5. Can’t defend the 4 spot enough to play it imo.
-
@kuballin10 Weird guy. Great hand-eye coordination. But very stiff in the lower half and so he doesn’t move laterally super well. So we wouldn’t be able to switch everything with him in the game like we can the other bigs. Bill may try early, but I don’t think it would go well.
To me, he’s basically Jeff Withey if you traded Jeff’s perfect timing at blocking shots for the ability to shoot wide open 3s at a .400 clip.
-
While Jeff is mentioned - his 2012 tournament may be one of the best defensive tournament performances in KU history.
- NC State he had 10 blocks.
- Ohio state he had 7 blocks and held Sullinger to 5-19 from the field and 13 points.
- UK he had 4 blocks and held AD to 1-10 from the field.
-
@Kcmatt7 great points
Withey was a force his final year here people don’t remember how good he was. Best defensive player inside in my book. Dok was a close second. Aldrich is in the convo
-
@Kcmatt7 The UK game still hurts me more than it should and I what if about BMac

Counter point: Jeff still had some games where he had to be taken out due to poor match-ups. Udoka got himself to the point where he could defend on the perimeter reasonably well if called for.
I do not mean to in any way knock too much on Jeff though, he was great. It’s 1A (Udoka) and 1B (Jeff) imo.
-
@BShark what game(s) are you referencing?
You might be right Dok is better if he can defend multiple positions better.
-
@Kcmatt7 makes me think of dedric, dude could not move laterally

What if Josh Selby had come back and played that 2011-12 season healthy. That’s another of those what if’s that I think about regularly in regards to KU having another title.

Missouri was a big one but he had several games logging under 20 minutes his JR year especially.
