Transfer Rumblings

@rockchalkjayhawk I like it a lot with the caveat that there’s some projection involved. You know what you’re getting with Juan and Hunter. Morris is already a very good defender, and shot it very well in league and postseason play. Timberlake is a bucket, especially as a supporting character. Nelson’s efficiency wasn’t great, but NDSU also didn’t have any guards. He led them in scoring, rebounding, blocks, and assists. The hope is the efficiency numbers get better playing with real guards and a dominant center. The worry is defense but that’s two solid rim protectors and two very good guards.
-
Lineup projection is A national champion point guard. A word, I mean woman beater guard. A thirty year old guard. A college stud center with zero social awareness. And a player that is not signed and is in draft tryouts currently. Weird looking lineup. Chemistry will be important.

Thanks for the insight, Farmer. Yup, mostly it’s the unknown for me. Hunter i expect to be good, but his teams didn’t exactly tear it up.
I for one just don’t get too excited when dudes from D12 schools transfer in – we can’t expect miracles there from them at this level. Maturity is great. we could use that.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk thank you kindly. It’s tough. I’m admittedly not the biggest Timberlake guy. I think he’s pretty limited except for perimeter shooting at this level. I’ll be really interested to see how Nelson tests this week. If he tests poorly it becomes a real question whether he can actually play the 4 at this level or is athletically limited to the 5
-
Time to turn on the NBA combine this week i guess!
Stay tuned for the drama that ensues.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk interested to watch Kevin too. If he blows it there’s a decent chance he comes back
-
Zuby to St Johns

that would be solid if he did, yet I just thought he didn’t want to come back ? - -I know Coach tried to talk him into coming , he would at least for sure help defensively
-
@jayballer67 he definitely doesn’t want to, but it’s not always up to him

good lord. I was afraid some team would fall in love and guarantee him a spot in the 30’s or 40’s

So Zuby lands at St Johns & lots of talk about Udeh to Duke. Pretty good landing spots for the guys that had a hard time getting and staying on the floor. here at KU - really happy for both & wish nothing but the best for both
I know the Duke fans are all giggly over themselves about the chance of landing Udeh --they are all wanting him bad. - They also got Jeremy Roach back I guess - -they are LOADED - -I mean LOADED. They was all talking about all 13 of their players being Scholi players no walk ons --talking about how some of their stud freshmen stars going to be having to come off the bench

That’s hilarious but not a bad get. I thought we were gonna offer the youngest brother a PWO spot.

I’m hoping walk-on here.
As for Landon I think Omaha took him to get the Stubblefield kid.

Considering St. John’s coach is the only other active coach to win multiple national titles, and with how he’s rebuilt the roster this offseason, I really wouldn’t be shocked to see the Storm make the NCAA Tournament next season.

Think we’ll offer him a scholarship due to the ties to that family imo.

I’ve recently heard this somewhere else.
-
@Gorilla72 He’d be I guess the third big? Not exactly ideal as he’s worse than Clemence.
Rather burn 2 of the 3 scholly’s now so we don’t have to worry the next 1-2 years.
-
@kuballin10 - apparently HCBS doesn’t agree with you…
-
-
Is that a Braun?
-
@benshawks08 PB CB’s lil bro.
-
-
@BShark oh!
-
Parker Whitman?
-
-
@Gorilla72 I’m sure he wants practice bodies so I get it

He should be a walk-on and yeah we need practice bodies down low.
-
No harm in bringing him on as a walk-on. We need true depth though, not hearing any good new names pop up.
-
New name to watch per Swain: Daimion Collins

I was curious if his name would eventually be connected here. Seems like a solid option to back up Dickinson.
-
The walk-on thing might be a hold-up with Parker. Stay tuned on that one.
-
@BShark Do we actually care? This is such desperation either way.

I hate to take Kentucky scraps, but he would fit the bill. Super athletic big man who can eat 10-15 mpg. I’d be fine with this.

Yea, I get that. I can’t see how in the world he’d wanna be a walk on with his experience.
-
If he wants to walk on, that’s a 5* walk on. But no, don’t offer him a scholarship

Look we need practice bodies. If he demands a scholarship you don’t take him IMO but I ain’t Bill.

Better than other names I had heard for the spot previously.
He is separate from Parker and adding Parker as (hopefully a walk on) doesn’t change the staff wanting a big that can actually contribute.
