Whiff on Dickinson and whiff on Tyson and we are in huge trouble. Both seem possible.

@BShark Would be curious how close he and Aimaq are. I feel like Cal has an advantage just because of familiarity.

Isn’t he like the perfect fit? Could play next to Udeh or KJ. Gives you a great pick and pop or pick and roll guy. Able to get his own shot. Very athletic for a guy his size. Both vertically and laterally.
I realize he played in the Summit. But I feel like he’s a take 100% of the time and you figure out the rest later.

@Kcmatt7 he’s still raw. In baseball parlance I’d say he’s toolsy. Very turnover prone and isn’t a great 3 point shooter even though he likes to take them. Not super strong either, so isn’t someone you’ll just throw it to in the post.
The adjustment from Summit League to Big 12 will be steep obviously. I think Bill can get a ton out of him eventually, but it’ll take some time.

@FarmerJayhawk That’s probably fair. If he can get that 3-ball figured out this offseason though he’s an impossible guard. At the very least, he’s a great add to the 4-5 rotation. Even if it is only 20-25mpg.

@Kcmatt7 100% agree. I think he’s an add 10/10 times regardless of what Hunter does because, like you said, he’s got lots of versatility. And would mitigate the negative of not getting a big wing to play the 4 since he can do some of those things. To be honest he might be a better 4 than Tyson if the shot comes around. Tyson is kind of a stiff.

how much eligibility would he have ? - numbers ? - - hght ?

I’m slowly but surely grasping that Hunter is taking his time , visiting countless Achools and yes - -he has that right , he has all the leverage and he can take his time , he deserves to take his time. However , now for some reason if Grant should want to visit and then end up wanting to come & Hunter still hasn’t decided- -then it’s time to move on from Hunter and take Grant, no hard feelings but if you have a player of what sounds like a very solid player , you can’t continue to pass and continue to wait on Hunter. - -Good luck to Hunter and you take Grant, cause you continue to wait , miss out on Grant and Hunter ends up elsewhere then that’s not good. - -Hope we can possibly get a visit from the kid

@jayballer67 Hunter’s going to decide before Nelson even has any visits scheduled. I bet he goes all the way to the wire on the draft process, so Nelson would be more a June add.

@TYOHawk Well this post had us adding Nelson AND Dickinson. I do not think adding Dickinson alone to the current roster is getting them a FF.
But if you add Nelson to that mix you get that Timme/Holmgren type of combo that Zags had a couple of seasons ago. I think that team could make a run.

Basketball at Cal was once proud, now both hoops and football are a mockery. They just don’t dedicate any resources.
But, new coach, new excitement. I’d like for Kansas to come back out and play another game! Many moons ago I recall seeing Keegan lumbering into the arena just as i was. ha.

So for my own personal sanity , Sooo we pretty much in not so round about way told Spears and Morris it would be better if they found somewhere else- -without coming right out and saying we don’t want you here not that I disagree about taking them - it’s just that if we really not that interested then why have them visit ?
I mean if they contact and inquire and we are not that interested why not just come out and say ehh no sorry probably not worth your or our time to make a visit. - -don’t dangle them – just come out and say - -Thanks but no Thanks we are exploring other options - Save everybody’s time.
