He’s close to the worst guard that’s played here. Stats would agree too. Needs to go down a level

Got 19 minutes on the court today - 2pts on 1-7 from the floor; 0-4 from 3. Zero assists.
-
Question , how long has it been since we have had a guy that will attack and draw fouls ?-- Well we got one now. Tre White is doing really we this season, I think he got what !3 attempts today ? Really solid game-- --nothing flashy just good ball. Think he scored like 16 points and what 8 rebounds ?- -I take those numbers every ay

Agree. He was brutal today.
-
Don’t watch the last 5 minutes. Sheesh.
Have we scored since the 5 minute mark???
2 buckets in the last 5:45 - one was Ngala’s 3…
-
Another good defensive job.

Council and Elmarko are complete non shooters. Hard to believe
They’re better drivers than shooters. Elmarko still can’t play off ball which was his issue as a freshman. He’s looked a bit better when he’s running the second unit with the ball in his hands. Elmarko needs to watch film on Stephen Curry to see how to play without the ball in his hands. Obviously he’ll never be the shooter Curry is, but Curry is the greatest off ball player in NBA history and there’s a lot to learn from studying him.
With Council, it appears he’s still adjusting to the speed of P5 basketball. I think he’ll be fine long term here. He’s never been a great shooter and that’s not going to change, but he’s always been aggressive in driving the ball and getting to the line and putting pressure on opposing defenses.
There’s obviously still tinkering going on with rotations and line ups and learning to play without Peterson which is going to be huge in the long run for KU in March.
We’ll see what Peterson’s status is for Tuesday, but I’m fulling expecting him to play and show out against fellow #1 pick contender Cam Boozer because I think this is more load management and protecting the goods more than anything else with him. If Peterson doesn’t play Tuesday though, that’s going be a red flag that his hamstring issue is more serious than the staff is portraying it to be at the moment.
Overall, this was a nice win against a team with a good shot at making the NCAA Tournament where we saw this team working through stuff in real time and figuring some stuff out.
-
It looks like McDowell has been cut from the rotation.
I continue to believe that Ngala needs real minutes.
We have the pieces to have a good season, but DP must start playing.
Duke will probably blow us out. No Peterson hurts. We need to not get discouraged when that happens.
-
I went fishing today. Got skunked, as usual. But I feel my blood pressure is much better off because of it.
-
The game went about how I figured it would. Flory needs to play hard all the time not just in little spurts. Is Elmarko Jackson the worst 5 star player in recorded history? How the hell was he a top 20 recruit. He showed flashes as a freshman but good god he looks lost as a player can be on both ends.

Flory Bidunga Highlights vs. Princeton (25 Pts, 10 Rebs, 3 Blks)
-
Tre stepped up and Council ran things pretty well. Our three point shooting was crappy and Elmarko was 1/7 from the field but he’s a bigger guard with quickness and hops who plays befuddled for some reason. I thought Jamari would snap out of it but no. Tiller is going to get a lot of playing time and he needs that along with some serious coaching and we need that size he gives us on the boards and his shooting has become really important. Jayden Dawson please make a big leap because you are a shooter.
-
At least we have athletes this year. Scrappy bunch. I’m honestly looking forward to watching this team all year win or not The starters were all above 20 pts , and Dawson with 24
-
Good stuff from Flory, Melvin, Tre, Bryson, Kohl and Jayden. Good team effort.
-
Pretty happy with what i saw. We scrapped, we figured it out, we had a breakout performance from Bidunga. Lots of contributions from other guys. We got to the line. He had a variety of scoring. We got to the deep bench snd would have won by 20.
All things we sucked at last year.
-
Not something i’d normally comment on, but i thought Nick Bahe was very informative today as the color guy on TV.
He really did a great job of explaining the ins and outs of how the KU guys needed to play defense against Princeton. He was in the weeds about guarding the 3 pt line and backdoor cuts and I loved it! nicely done.
He also wasn’t shy about saying our guards need to step up and make some outside shots for us to be successful.
Best game i recall from him on the mic.

I think you may be mistaking points for minutes played?

-
Tre White with a nice interview after.
-
@approxinfinity I like the lil guy at the end.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk I really like Nick.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk I agree as well on Nick Bahe. Usually I have the volume practically off a few minutes into a game, but he was absolutely great and a breath of fresh air today.
-
My favorite play of the game was Council Jr and Elmarko on the break with Jr. throwing him the lob for the dunk. Reminded me of Tyshawn and Elijah Johnson back in 2012. It was also the only play of the day where Elmarko rose up above his weird slow ass lackluster braindead effort, so I’m going to give my man Council some credit for sparking that out of him.
Three point doldrums can be contagious so hopefully someone gets their groove. Good grief, there were wide open air balls.
Otherwise, I like this team even without mr superstar who is 1-1 at this point.
-
Ngala seems to be a better player than Mari and Elmarko at this point wish he would get a few more minutes.

Besides physical attributes my only complaint with him is he doesn’t just play a role. If he would only shoot wide open threes, iniate the offense when necessary and otherwise pass the ball basically the rest of the time there would definitely be a role for him

bill’s a legend but his messaging around the whole DP thing has been terrible

Correct

I learned many years ago that press conference fodder is mostly just bait and something coaches have to do per their contract. Reading much into it is just a waste of time.
-
@FarmerJayhawk listened to post game and it sounds like Dp is unlikely to play Tuesday. I honestly think the only reason they left us ranked is so it’s a feather in Dooks cap. Unfortunately I don’t give us much of chance, 25+ point loss without DP and a 15 point loss with him. We are athletic but dint know how to play basketball, Dook can do both.
