@BShark Man that’s sucks but he did make his own decisions and there are consequences. He was possibly the most talented guard on the roster as well.

If he’s convicted, and given the limited facts we know, i can’t see a big sentence, if any at all.
So, then it’ll be up to Self. Will he keep him on the roster?

Would like to say I hope things work out well, but why the heck would KU even need to recruit someone of his character? Surely there are dozens of players with his talent - which I realize is immense, but it’s not 1 of 1 unique. He’s of an interchangeable talent level and hardly worth the trouble.

We’ll see how things go. None of us know what the government’s case is or what Morris’s defense is. Any lawyer will tell you it’s impossible to predict the outcome of every trial. Juries do some weird stuff.

@dylans Yeah, wish we wouldn’t have. If you ask Bill probably something like “uh uh uh he can slide”.
@FarmerJayhawk Yeah I wouldn’t want to try and predict the trial at all. Just glad that there should be a public article soon touching on some of the stuff. Even just the stuff that’s public record, most people aren’t going to look into it but will check the article.

@BShark and who knows how much of the stuff in the press will make it into the trial record? Waaaay different standards there. Just so much left to play out it’s impossible to say one way or another.

Yikes. I’m just continually shocked we even let someone with this hanging over them be connected to the program. We shall see how it plays out. So much to say but nothing appropriate for right now

If this was really turning south and going to be a bad look in the program, then Bill would have already cut him loose. I think the fact that KU and Bill are still sticking with him speaks volumes to how they they think things will shake out.
As far as I can tell the only thing that has changed since KU signed him is the court dates running into August and that wasn’t the plan.

@Woodrow That would make Bill look even worse than he already does. If he cut Morris loose this soon then it signals they did not do their due diligence before signing him. No new information has come forward, just the consequences for his actions are catching up with him. Bill has to stand by Morris at this point. It’s exactly what he signed the university up for.

Is Morris still on Campus or has he wnt back to Texas ? - -right ? - -for the trial preceding’s ?- -The last I heard it was headed to trial. or has that changed ? - just curious if he is even still in Lawrence.

just saw from TOS couldn’t read the article from Swain because it’s VIP behind the wall but he said he had just heard that the Arterio Morris situation should be resolved in the very near future, but wasn’t going to get into specifics, that’s all the article that was displayed -rest behind the wall.

His case should be handled and finished shortly, he is traveling to PR to play with the team, and is a “complete member of the team” according to Self.

If Bill was actually witness tampering (lol) he should be fired yesterday. Though I don’t know for sure, my suspicion is it’s an all too common case of the witness not wanting to go through with reliving a really bad time.

@Kcmatt7 I suppose it depends on the amount of hours the prosecutor has put into the case and their hubris as well. I don’t for one minute think that human emotions are always a concern for some people. Bully’s exist at every level of pretty much every job.

Morris is a public figure and this DA might be trying to up his profile to move south and get hired in Dallas or Tarrant Counties (Fort Worth) which are much larger counties than Denton County.
