There’s a reason they’re a title favorite this year. Marcus Sasser is NPOY levels of good. They still have a few players from their Fonal Four team two years ago so this team is battle tested. They also have Kelvin Sampson who is a top 5 coach right now. He’s done something even Self hasn’t done in taking multiple schools to the Final Four. This is a team that has a shot to run the table year and are better suited to do so than Wichita St. was a few years ago.

Houston can defend at a top 5, maybe top 3 level. That means they are in every game before it even tips. If they can score at all, they are a threat.

Houston had their chance to win a NC. 1983 loaded team with two future hall of famers leads NCState with zero recognizable names and the legend of Jim Valvano is born. Guy Lewis the towel toter of Houston goes into a stall instead of just continue to score nearly at will and ends up on the receiving end of one of basketballs most quintessentially famous plays, the Wittenburg Airball caught by Prince Lorenzo Charles and slammed through. Valvano became famous as he ran around looking for someone to hug. Lewis regretted his decision for the rest of his life.

Tucky is tied with Bellarmine with 12 minutes to go. They’ve put up 34 points in 28 minutes against a team that just became Div 1…lol.

Watched a fair bit of Missouri WSU last night since we play Missouri. Missouri can shoot it a bit but is horrible defensively. Wichita had a lot of unforced turnovers. In general Wichita has really fallen off.

Kenpom #37, 13th ranked O (20 slots higher then KU), 95th ranked D. Sounds spot on to what you said. They have given up 80+ to 4 teams so far & have played what has to be one of the worst schedules to date.
Southern Indiana, Penn, Lindenwood, SIUE, Miss Valley St, Coastal Carolina, Hou Christian, Wichita St has been their slate so far. Talk about murderer’s row.

I actually like Isaac brown. The fans hate him and still love the ego-maniac player beater Marsha. Oh, and they still hate us. I kinda wonder if even the players from his good teams like him.

Last season of the ACC/BIG challenge as the ACC backed out. Not sure it had to do with the BIG signing with FoxSports or if it was the BIG has regularly won the challenge the last 10 years or so. BIG not doing as well this year and will need to pick up some wins against the big boys of the league in order to win. Curious to see Indiana against Duke.

Well KState goes down 76 - -64 to Butler tailed by as much as 20 trailed almost entire game. - -Keyonte Johnson was perfect from the field for them finished with 20 I believe

The ACC didn’t back out. It’s being replaced with an ACC/SEC challenge and it’s because of the B10 no longer having a TV deal with ESPN and the ACC and SEC still having ESPN deals. It also means the B12/SEC challenge is coming to an end this season as well. I would expect the B12 and B10 to start something in the next year or two.

A little off the subject but the VP of my company has triplets, and one of them is a very good beach volleyball player. She just signed with Boise St. I pitched going to KU hard to dad, but he said she likes playing beach volleyball, not regular volleyball. So off to the land of the blue astro turf. Anyway, congrats to the lady jayhawks!

@jayballer67 I honestly thought that was smoke and mirrors. They flat sucked for most of last season until they got scalding hot late. Then lost their best player in Manek and replaced him with a total stiff. The pieces don’t really fit and Hubert isn’t a great X’s and O’s Coach.

Missouri looks like a decent rec league team. Gave up 89 against SEMO (they did win tho). They could not defend members of this board (slight exaggeration).
