@Gorilla72 thank you
-
@BShark keep going down, Dec 2017

-
Disregard. Stats are good but he is a head case.
-
Biggest name on the market so far- Fardaws Aimaq, Utah Valley WAC player of the year, 6’11 245 mountain averaged 18ppg 13 rebounds per game. Going to have one of the longest lists out there…
-
@BeddieKU23 Can he block shots?

1.3 per game. 99 career blocks in 3 seasons. Has 2 seasons to play but will explore professional options first before entertaining colleges. Is definitely looking to go somewhere to win. Made 20 3’s on the year as well. Given his size I think some of his stats are inflated due to competition. Did have 24 and 22 against BYU in their win & 15 & 15 against Washington. Hasn’t played against a lot of top competition from the looks of it.

I am not impressed with him. If we were desperate for a big sure, but thankfully we are not.
-
Agree he looks decent but not a need for us. I have seen his initial contact list and its long…
-
Portal approaching 550. Wouldn’t be surprised to see 2 to 300 more names in by the end of the week.

I can understand why teams are interested but there are warning signs here. Main one is 0.9 DBPM in the WAC. The counting stats are bananas though and he will have a nice payday I am sure.

I’m shocked how few firings there have been.
- Haase
- Tinkle
- Pastner
- Capel
- Collins
All seem like guys that should be shown the door.

Have you seen Tinkle’s contract? 14M buyout I kid you not.
-
@BShark I didn’t. But damn. Makes more sense after this season.
-
I’m very confused how Oregon State committed so much money and so many years to a guy who’s best record at OSU was last year’s 20-13, and who never had a season with fewer than 13 losses at Oregon State. He had two great years at Montana, but otherwise has been a so-so coach in his entire career. Not sure why you commit that much to a guy with a very meh track record.

KYSportsRadio on Twitter quoted Calipari saying there are a lot of players wanting to transfer to Kentucky. Said he needed to evaluate them, “because as I’ve said, this environment isn’t for everybody”.

I can not roll my eyes hard enough at this.

@Gorilla72 lol

Keylan Boone (one of the two Boone brothers) leaving Oklahoma St
-
@BeddieKU23 - he didn’t start or play well. Looks like his stats aren’t much different than his brother’s though? Yet his brother appears to be staying.
-
Wasn’t sure where to put this but just read off WIBW Pack from K State is entering his name in the NBA draft. - -Article didn’t say anything about him returning to K State
-
Portal approaching 650 and likely to top 700 by end of day. So far more quantity then quality
-
One I’m watching to see where he ends up. Grant Basile of Wright State. The 6’9 Jr C averaged close to 19ppg and 8 boards. From Wisconsin so perhaps going to @wissox join the badgers. He was good in both tournament games
-
A very intriguing transfer from Belmont.
Freshman guard Will Richard 6’5 averaged 12 & 6 on near 47% shooting. Had two 20 point games, scored double figures in 23/33 games, 47 made 3’s, 80% from the line. Definitely that big guard with upside. This one will have lots of suitors.

Looked into him.
We could do a lot worse for that big guard spot.
-
Proven production at a good Mid-Major as a freshman. Watched some highlights. Not Och level athlete from what I saw but range on his 3 point shot and appears to have a midrange. Almost looked like he was playing the 4 spot at Belmont which at 6’5 seems weird but they looked like a small team. From Georgia, was the 29th ranked player in Georgia (#328 composite). In any case I think he ends up at Power 5

Intrigued. Still VERY young, with 3 to play. https://247sports.com/Player/Khristian-Lander-46054936/

No.

Do you think the staff actually targets him? Seems like a candidate to move down a level to me. I know they were interested originally.

No, I’m interested in a long term play kind of sense. He won’t even turn 20 until August and has really solid tools. Just has been coached by clowns and made the mistake of reclassifying into a trash situation at IU
-
Desmond Cambridge who we saw when we played Nevada in the portal. Kid can shoot you in and out of games. Also a really good shot blocker. Interesting
-
Lander has been awful at Indiana

Oh yes please.

No brainer imo
Bidding war coming though I’m guessing. Georgetown thinks they have a shot (which I’m not familiar why) besides him being from the area.
-
Junior Wing Devan Cambridge from Auburn in the Portal.

Do you think we will be active in the Portal this yr ? - - - I think if we get serious about the portal it will be a WING right ?
-
Gotta fill the Ochai spot at minimum. It all depends on what spots are available.
I’m of the understanding Martin who redshirted will move on. I’m also working with the belief we could see Braun, Wilson & Dave back. Add Harris and that’s 4 starters. If all the other guards return (Yesufu, Pettiford, Cuffe) he’s got 4 smalls but no big guard.
I’m under the assumption Gradey is a wing as is Rice. MJ could also be a small ball 4 here as well with his build and game. He’s physical and likes to score around the basket with his athleticism.
If Dave & Wilson return then the incoming freshman are playing behind Zach & KJ. Seems like too many bodies so something to watch there unfortunately. If neither returns then its a youth movement where Self may grab an experienced big to throw in the mix.
As always the offseason will not be without its drama and anxiety.

IMG Academy, from Baltimore.
Uh yeah. Would really show we are back if we got him.

Depends on how many departures there are. Just about guaranteed to go for a big guard though. Unless they could fully close on MJ Rice. Honestly I think there are transfers we can add that would be better than him.

A 6-3/6-4 combo would be KU’s biggest need. KU will be fine on the wing even if both Braun and Wilson bolted early. Gradey Dick and MJ Rice are interchangeable as far as position goes at the 3/4 spots. Harris/Yesufu/Pettiford/Cuffe have the 1/2 spots on lock down. Clemence and Adams could each play the 4/5 spots if needed. Udeh will be a load at the 5 in the near future, and Ejiofor could step into se minutes right away if needed. A 6-3/6-4 combo guard that can play the 2/3 spots is what KU’s missing for next season’s line up.
