Even when we do throw a good entry pass, he doesn’t score. Our offense can’t be built around that.
It’s not built around Dave posting up though.
Okie doke
Dave is averaging less than 10 ppg and less than 7 field goal attempts per game, but you keep claiming the offense is built on Dave posting people up.
Our offense is built on passing it to the low post. Trying to get ball reversal and then throw the ball inside. Because our entry passing sucks an because Dave can’t make a dunk doesn’t mean that’s not our strategy.
Again, Dave is averaging less than 7 field goal attempts per game, and since he’s not a guy that passes much, that means he’s not posting up and getting fed at the rate you think he is.
When Dave is in the game you can’t argue that a majority of the effort of the offense is trying to find a way to get him the ball inside. Yeah it’s not working at a high rate but it’s like the first 20 seconds of every possession. Then a guard has to make a play late in the shot clock. He’s also not playing big minutes leading to those low nimbuses. But when he’s in he is the focus.

Scored 6 pts in 8 minutes
At least the quality of looks is improving as Dave went out.

Dave has the highest usage % on the team. If someone can’t see this they don’t want to…

KU is what, 0-5 or 0-6 from 3 this half? Those will start to go in again.
-
Mario signed 10 day with Heat!!

What a play.

Because he often loses the ball before he gets a shot up. Because he only plays 19 minutes a game. Our offense is still a high-low offense where we try to feed the post. What have we been trying to do all game?
That’s misleading, because he simply fumbles the ball or gets stripped repeatedly. Plus, scorekeepers seem to miss several of his 2 or 3 in a row misses from 2 ft. He’s “officially” 0-3 this game, but he missed that many in a 1 minute stretch…

Bill knows basketball.

CB struggling today
-
Clearly all we needed was checks notes Mitch Lightfoot to get going

Isn’t that kind of what I was saying?

JCL shouldn’t come out the rest of the game

Is it really a shot attempt of a guy is just randomly flailing and the ball happens to go toward the basket?
-
So, who laid odds that JCL and Mitch would be our 2 leading scorers???
-
Bad foul call
-
Bench 14-15…
-
Starters 10-37…
-
Great d from Mitch there.
-
Yes has wheels.
-
It’s clear why Yesufu sits on the bench
-
JCL is fuego
-
Old men ftw today
-
JCL is definitely an upgrade from Tristan. At least for this team.

Tristan played well vs Baylor

@BShark would have to catch the ball first

Reaaaally hate that Bobby got hurt. He is at least a good passer/driver.

Bill alluded to him basically being in his own head. Trying to hard to do what he is supposed instead of just freely playing.
Unfortunate to watch because when he is on and has confidence he can put on a pretty good show

Maybe this let’s Bobby skip all the scouting and gives him a chance to have a big run at the end of the year.

In his defense, I feel like it’s hard to free play on a Bill Self coached team.
-
I will say it is nice that JCL is having a great game on a day when Och and CB plummeted back to earth.

Definitely a tough spot to be in.

Gotta do ALL the stuff you are supposed to do as a bench player, THEN you can play free. Otherwise he just puts the starter back in. Definitely a tough spot.

You don’t miss TGF coming in and laying bricks?
-
JCL doing exactly what he needs. Give us some buckets when we can’t throw it in the ocean from the dock
-
Mitch and JCL have outscored the starters 34-28…
-
Well if this was the “wait do we need JCL?” Check game, we have our answer. He’s part of the rotation.
-
@approxinfinity Happy New Year! Where you been?
-
I believe yes will have at least one big game this season. He has the tools.
-
@approxinfinity honestly too many mouths to feed. He’s been neglected imo. Should be getting more minutes over Wilson
-
Our offensive struggle today starts with Braun’s 2/10 7 pts and Ochai’s 3/12 8 pts. Thank goodness Coleman-Lands is hot and scores 20 so far
-
I think the JCL-Enaruna trade was good for both teams.
-
Hate this lineup
-
@Kcmatt7 and I wrote that before the turnover
-
This is such a terrible defensive lineup
-
CB and Ochai party together last night?
