Coach Hot Seat and Players to Poach

Tough question. I just can’t imagine a March without KU in it so I’m going to go with no until its reality. While it sucks to see recruiting suffering, its also kind of fun to see how good Self is at adapting to the situation. I don’t ever want to go back to recruiting Cliff Alexander, Billy Preston, Diallo, De Sousa. We played with fire and hope this is a hard lesson that never gets repeated
-
@Kcmatt7 what do you think we’ll receive punishment wise?
@BeddieKU23 If such a thing were offered and it would suck to not be in the tourney, I think I’d just get it over with and be banned this season rather than putting it off until next.
Call me dillusional, but I think we’ll be damn good and deep next year.
-
@Marco I think we get absolutely hammered
-
I get what both you and @Kcmatt7 are saying. I want this to be over and given this covid year sacrificing this year seems like the best of a bad situation. The last thing we want to see is a stacked team get told they can’t dance when none of these kids will be directly involved.
-
@BeddieKU23 yea I’m worried this is a top 3 team next year and we get screwed out of a shot at a natty twice in three years
-
Would be fitting
-
Indiana fired Archie Miller.
Come on down Trace Jackson-Davis to KU. Just kidding I know he’s going league but wow.
Probably means 5 star dud Khristian Lander headed somewhere else
-
@BeddieKU23 Can’t say he didn’t deserve it. The guy was handed several NBA prospects and so it was not a lack of talent.
-
Definitely. I wonder who the next hopeless soul will be to try and right the ship
-
@BeddieKU23 It’s a great job for someone who can actually get the program going. I’m sure they’ll get a hot name.
I’d be trying to poach Underwood from Illinois if it were me… He’s 57 so you could theoretically get 8+ years out of him.
-
Yeah I’m sure they will aim high. They need a splash hire, or the right up and coming coach
-
BC hired Charlestons’ Earl Grant.
Depaul to fire their coach. Good recruiting class about to blow up
Minnesota fires the other Pitino
-
Penn St hires Purdue assistant Micah Shrewsberry. Helped develop Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown…

Lots of talent is going to become available.
-
If IU is smart they hire Rick Pitino. Dude could take a ham sandwich to an 8 seed
-
That Ham Sandwich may also allegedly stop into a strip club
-
@BeddieKU23 lol, get some chips
-
If I’m Indiana’s AD, my first call is to Porter Moser.
-
@BeddieKU23 oh well! In Slick Rick’s case, he’ll only be there for 15 seconds
-

oh dam didn’t know Pitino at Minnesota was in trouble. Guess that pretty well settles it for the # 1 prospect huh? - -he was out of Minnesota , had been talk about him staying in Minnesota but Gonzaga I think had pretty well got his interest - -can’t remember his name for sure thinking it might of been Chet Holgrem - -is that right ?
-
Big ten needs a strong Indiana program. I’m always amazed when programs like it, Nebraska, Texas and Michigan football and the LA schools in both hoops and football fall on hard times. Seems like they should be able to reload no matter who’s coaching. KU is one bad hire away from the same doom.

This is something I’ve argued for years. Conferences need their traditional powers to be good to elevate the rest of the league. Why has the Big 12 consistently been one of the top leagues over the past 15 years? Because of Kansas. Why has the Big 12 been down in football recently? Because Texas has been down.
Why has the Pac 12 been down in both football and basketball recently? USC has been down in football and UCLA and Arizona have each been down in basketball.
Why was the ACC down this year? Because Duke and UNC were down this year.

Prohm is OUT at ISU.
-
You can add UNLV to that list of looking for a new coach there previous coach is a candidate for the Iowa State Job

Tj otzelberger firmly University of UNLV will be named the new coach of Iowa State
-
Utah fired their coach. Nothing else to report here

Saw that they are talking about Brad Stevens. If they could pull that off, what a coup that would be. I personally - though he has done well in the NBA - think that he belongs in the college game.
-
IU will pipe dream a few days and then focus on a real realistic candidate. Take Mussel from Arkansas, he likes to change schools and win. That’s what he does. That’s what IU needs and they can get him rather cheap since they definitely owe Archie money
-
Have they tried Phil Jackson yet?
-
@BeddieKU23 thought he already publicly said no?
-
I have to admit I am saddened by the fall of ISU. They were doing a great job of building a rivalry with us… especially made it tough to visit the Hilton. I hope they get something good going again because they are an extremely fun fan base to hate! lol
-
Guess I missed it. I was spitballing what I thought could be a good target. Coaches are known to change their mind after a season ends…
-
Iowa St owes Prohm approx 5.5 million. OUCH
-
@BeddieKU23 It’s true but I think it was even said he has a huge buyout apparently. But I have done zero independent investigating of these things I’m saying.
-
@BeddieKU23 brutal… I mean didn’t they know when he was hired he was going to be a temporary solution? Wasn’t like the whole reason he got hired was because he ran a similar offensive system previously and they wanted to give that roster he inherited a chance at a NC?
At least that is how I remember it.
-
Iowa State would be fools to not try to lure Hoiberg back.
-

Not happening
-
I would agree that it seems unlikely unless he had some sort of specific buyout clause for ISU only.
-
It is official tj otzelberger is the new coach of Iowa state
-
Good get for ISU. He knows the program and how to recruit to them.
-
Wouldn’t Chris Beard be good for IU?
-
Think his buyout is rather large and they already owe Archie a hefty price.
-

I still think Porter Moser would be a great get for Indiana.
-
Marquette fired the Duke guy.
Come on down their big Dawson Garcia…
-
Yep…
-
DJ Carton is a major baller as well.
-
UNLV has hired assistant coach Kevin Krueger as their new coach
-
Well not a Coach on the hot seat or at least wouldn’t think should be BUT seen this off another site - kinda stunned me BUT A radio Station out of Charlotte NC reporting that Roy Williams days at North Caroling could be Done - - Whaa ? - -under the comments or response was asked - - fired or retire - - they responded retire - -if that’s the Case all I can say is WOW
