It’s a double edged sword. Does self play more Mitch and desousa and play novas style? Or do you stick with doke.
It is easy to say self sucked but nova was unconscious.

Love this group. Proud of them. They overachieved and hung two banners. Nova played a historic game and this is where it ended. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Can’t dispute definitively, but we did nothing to disrupt them defensively for most of the game.
The last 2 meetings, they disrupted us on offense. As case in point: how long until we took our first 3 point shot?

Who knows what happens with guys at the next level. I do know a week ago we collectively beat a team with nba player’s. Shit happens we did what we could without preston and losing mason and jackson

@Bwag agreed 100%. Bill has his philosophy’s that got us year. Let teams chuck threes and hope they miss. Start inside and make them collapse by scoring down low (we’ve never down consistently which is why this strategy is comical)…then kick it out

We should be good next year regardless… the tourney is a harsh mistress, and we got out played by a team that made three in tourney History We got blitzed… I was at the Boston garden last weekend and nova looked NOWHERE NEAR this good against WVU and TT.

If I played us Id NEVER double Doke. He isnt that great with moves. A ton of his points are off of other guys penetration and kicks or lobs. Then go at him and get him in foul trouble. Then if you are a Nova type team you stretch him and make him run and gas him.
Exactly what happened tonight.

It’s taken 32 years for college coaches to FULLY grasp what the 3 pointer and having all 5 guys be able to shoot it does.

Vick can leave. Good player but not great. Makes too many turnovers same for Devontae this year.
Nova handles it so well even being an older team we were junior high sloppy with the ball all year

Our starting 5 is gone. Will be interesting to see who steps up to fill the void

bottom line our perimeter d did what it does—not defend.
we didn’t rebound.
the only chance Kansas had to win was try to match their scoring and Self held them back and instructed them to play in the paint.
regardless, we couldn’t have kept pace with 18/38 threes anyway.

@BigBad some is irrelevant the good teams are what matter and Bill should know how they will play us. No way u ever double doke force a guy who doesn’t score 20 a game to feel the mental stress when he has a quick 8-10 down low to continually scoring which mentally makes u feel selfish and letting ur team down when u miss

And idk, young at guard is different than weak. Might take some time but I really like Grimes and Dotson long term. Moore I am not high on at all.
