KU vs Seton Hall Game Chat..

Survive and advance, I’m good with that. Malik Newman, thank you for finally having the light come on in the past few weeks.
-
Survive and advance…yep, that’s the recipe.
-
I have to think Newman has pushed himself into the draft.

I wouldn’t call it terrible. Closer to average.
Fair enough.
-
ok… breathe. breathe.
-
That wasn’t a terrible game. We just didn’t play D. The Offense was great
-
We always make lil boys cry!

I know right. Newman is just stepped up to a whole another level. You think there is any chance he comes back for another year?
-
That look from Doke!
-
refs still sucked gosh darn it
-
Part of the formula to a championship is to win a game where you play like crap.
Check.
-
Great win, seton hall shot out of their mind the entire game
-
Hit FT’s late. Good thing our first half rate didn’t continue
-
@DoubleDD zero. Unless somehow scouts tell him he needs to come back and do what’s he’s done the past two weeks for an entire season.
Would legit be a Naismith POY favorite next season.
-
@Bwag I think Delgado was in his head and that took Doke out of the game.

I don’t know that first half was kind of dismal.
-
@Bwag had the right people shooting

Particularly at the end. This could have just as easily been a 13 point win or so. Horseshoe up Carrington’s arse.
-
@BeddieKU23 SHU almost went UMBC on us.
-
Notice Bill Self pulled Doke out of the game in the final minutes?
-
Is it too much to ask for a nice comfortable 15- 20 pt win, like the other big marquee teams today… ? Good god these guys are going to give me an infarction
I don’t think seton hall missed a single shot in last 5 minutes
-
@Statmachine fool me once
-
@Crimsonorblue22 correct

Those other teams played really bad teams

Delgado has that Landen Lucas dirty/crafty to his game.
-
@wissox you’re right. I think the testosterone got the better of me. Got really irritated at Delgado complaining to refs, but not like Doke didn’t do it too… just Delgado looked like a baby and Doke looked like a ferocious hippo.
-
Alabama had 15 loses, Rhode island looked like a midmajor team
-
Really, that’s two pretty labored wins in a row.
-
Doke did a good job first half on him. To bad he had to use his elbows the 2nd half

For those that don’t know…
SHU Kenpom #26
Alabama #54 (with a dumb dumb coach to boot)
Rhode Island #51.
It’s a joke really.

URI very short. Duke’s size killed them.
-
KU won the first half by 5, lost the second half by 1, just sayin’…

Stats don’t show them shooting their minds out. 10-24 threes, 45% overall. They certainly had a lot of answers down the stretch. They were as tough as I thought they were going to be.
-
@BeddieKU23 Nova played out of their minds today.
Dukes Zone is scary good. Can’t wait for Syracuse to wreck both them and MSU though.

Huh? Looked like Delgado was scared of Doka to me? Did I miss something? Lets not forget Doka was playing with one leg.

Delgado made everything, 50% shooter from the field. They certainly answered a lot of our runs
-
@wissox Offensive rebounds were a killer today. Shootings percentage doesn’t account for that necessarily. But as a fan, it looks like they scored a lot.

This game was mostly under control the whole way somehow. I’ll take it…
-
@JayHawkFanToo we won the game

Rebound competently and it’s a very easy win honestly. BUT, it’s been a weakness all year and Doke is hobbled. Mitch, and I love Mitch…but he is a terrible rebounder it just is what it is. Survive and advance baby.
-
@BShark agreed. Felt in control the whole time. Bill pulled the right strings pretty much the entire 40 minutes.
-
Need Silvio to come back
-
@Crimsonorblue22 not a good matchup for him today. Crafty guy that is bigger, stronger and more skilled than him.

Yea but lets not forget SH didn’t miss their last 3 or 4 shots. Which 2 were 3 pointers, was it 3 3 pointers? desperation doesn’t make it a game. Just saying.
-
Just pointing out to someone that thought he first half was worst than the second.
-
I think today’s game will be tougher than our S16 game.
-
In the first two round KU has had the toughest matchups and still won. I’ll take it.
-
@DoubleDD I was mainly thinking of the sequence where Doke picked up his two offensive fouls, particularly the one where he viciously hooked him.
Here’s the thing about Delgado to me. I love seeing young men who have an athletic talent, like Doke, or Desousa or Embiid or Delgado and grew up in a 3rd world country. I just pull for those guys to succeed and make some money some day and bring some relief to their families and countries back home. I really don’t know anything about Delgado until today. He was amazing. It was a Nick C/Dicky V standing ovation type performance. Don’t know if he’s on draft boards but I’m hopeful he earns his degree. More power to these guys.
Of course a lot of our homegrown men come from tough situations and I cheer for them for the same reasons.
-
@BeddieKU23 Well if we ever get an easy bracket, I hope to be still alive to see it
-
@BShark Seton Hall … DOWN IN FLAMES…
