I say what I feel, what I observe. I take off the Crimson and Blue glasses and I don't drink the Crimson and Blue kool-aid. Kansas is a program on the decline. That's not my opinion, that's a fact. Kansas men's basketball had not lost 11 games in a season since 1989! The past three years we've lost 11, 13 and 11. We have been bounced from the NCAA Tournament after the first or second games (against generally far inferior opponents) multiple timnes. That's right off the kuathletics.com website. Facts. Not opinions. So people can say I'm naysayer. Say that I'm negative. Say whatever they want to say. Have me banned. Chances are I'm just telling the truth and nobody wants to hear it.

Is Case is the one doing the portal scouting I hope and pray he leaves. I’ll give him some credit with Tre and Melvin. The problem is we don’t need a shooter, you need a minimum of two IMO. Tre was much improved in that department but really struggled going 2-15 in the post season.

@mayjay DP isn't soft, agreed. I think any exec that dug a little would see that the story now presented about him being gunshy after full body cramps (in addition to the hamstring issues) will see that it fits with what they already have known about the kid for a long time. He's a winner and competitor and didn't wish for any of that. Ultimately I'm not sure DP was a good fit for a Kansas roster with 3.5 other guys that Bill trusted, and not sure that Kansas was the most confortable fit for him. Had he been at a school like Duke, flush with other high profile talent that the announcers could fixate on, he may have healed in peace without the BS scrutiny. In the end, if we goes number 1, maybe the case could be made that by taking the harder route, DP had to show how tough he was. I think he passed the test.

@stoptheflop On the other hand what else could Ayers say? If he says "yes he headbutted me but in the moment I decided to overlook it". Imagine the firestorm that would have caused. So he was saving face by saying I don't know what you're talking about.

It was epic but somehow a quarterfinal shot like Laettners gets venerated as some sort of shot from the gods and Marios gets people saying well because it wasn't this or that it's not "as high up...." Bull biscuits. Horsehockey. Mule Muffins! Marios and Keith Smarts and Lorenzo Charles are the only true epic buzzer beaters in NCAA tournament history.

@bskeet the only road we got that I want like holy smokes was in 2022. I’d rather been a 9 seed like Iowa than us as a 4 with the games we got.

Ignorant/Stupid question: Is it not allowed to establish a buyout on a player's contract so if another program wants a player, they not only have to pay the athlete, but also have to pay a buyout to the program? For example, the buyout could be $500k if they leave after 1 year and $1m if after 2 years. Some sort of structure so the program gets some compensation for the investment it puts into the athlete that is simply transported to the other program... Right now, only the player gets compensated.

The most important thing is winning in March, well and in April. But a season can be enjoyable even without the end of season success. I love watching KU play basketball. I love being other teams super bowl. Frankly we are that to just about every team that plays us. The only team that can talk any smack about us right now in the league is Baylor, and maybe Houston a recent runner up. Arizona hasn't been to an elite 8 since 2015, final 4 since 2001. Yes they could break that embarrassing streak of no FF's this year. We're crying because we haven't been there since 2022? Iowa St? Laughable to hear their pitiful fans talk smack on us. They've not earned the right because, well they've been waiting since 1944 when my 89 year old mom was 8 years old to play in a final four! BYWho? They're a midmajor that's been to 3 elite 8's. Texas Tech at least has a recent proud achievement with their national runner up in 2019. So I'm still darn tooting pleased to be cheering on the crimson and blue. We've still got lots of great stuff going on. Jump back on board Mr Nuleaf!
