Just leave, already… Time to get this crap behind us and move the hell on.
Whoa buddy - I am taking exception to that remark - plain and simple - -That’s one of my favorite player - -don’t hate the player - -hate the game - can’t believe someone who is suppose to be a KU fan telling a 18-19 yr old kid who loves Ku and just really wants to play for KU - -you telling him to leave - -That’s pretty JACKED UP padner
not pretty jacked up - -THATS just totally screwed up - and you a KU fan? - -and don’t be coming in and trying to say about OH he knew - -OH he knew - I will call BS on you with that - this kid just wanting to play ball and he wants to play ball at KU - that has to be probably one of the more screwed up posts I’ve seen and your a KU fan? I’,/others are just as frustrated but to just come out and tell Silvio to leave - -pretty much hell why don’t you just come out and say GET THE HELL OUT that’s sad buddy = - - - I’m Done
He is not going to be reinstated. He needs to move on.
Silvio needs to do whatever he wants. There’s nothing preventing him from playing professionally if he withdraws from the draft. There’s nothing preventing him from sitting out next year at Kansas, playing his senior year, and finishing his degree. How many better players are there in the class of 2020 than a 22 year old Silvio? Not many.
There will be quite a few actually, and unlike him they will have played for the past two seasons. It is what it is, and unlike this year’s crapshoot in recruiting his situation is all but guaranteed; i.e. he will not be reinstated by the so-called independent review board.
did you not see Farmer said in the class of 2020? - -if a kid is in the class of 2020 he hasn’t even stepped on the floor yet in college - Soooo they would have ZERO experience. - -Pretty sure he is talking about recruits from the class of 2020 - -
Yeah, I did. Did you? Atleast those guys would have been playing for the past two years (though only high school) unlike De Sousa. Understand? I see all the posts, and guess what? We have ALL been more wrong than right… Come on, quit… That guy isn’t going to ride the pine for yet another year and come back to play at KU… Good god, he could make a living overseas right now.
As you say - - " GOOD GOD " - - you didn’t see me say a thing about him as you say riding the pine. – you think the kid has been just sitting around and eating Chocolate Bon Bon’s during this time. - -Been well stated he worked out daily with the team this past Season - -also working out on his own. - -do you think his talent just magically disappeared - like POOF and he was a walking Waldo? - -he has been scrimmaging ALL this past season against other P-5 major caliber players - -not high School kids competing against other high school kids. - Plus I’m also talking about the appeal being granted - -which the staff is feeling more and more confident about daily.
Hell fricken no - if he isn’t granted the appeal - he already said he wouldn’t be back - -why would he - - but if he is granted his appeal which again obviously I feel better about it - -the staff is feeling better about it then you. - -Although these people need to get it’s head out of it’s ass and get the decision made - -all things they need is in – has been in - -they screwing around with the kids future - -I think these people have a Hardon for KU and Self - -Watch they gonna keep screwin around until after the 29th - as to Where Silvio has no choice but to leave - -typical.
I like your reasoning. Did Virginia have 1 or 2 elite athletes? I can’t recall.
I’m not putting this out there to question Self. I understand that a coach will put a high value on elite athleticism. I just don’t believe we’ve always come out well on that direction. I do praise Self for going after Dedric. Self had to know he wasn’t an elite athlete but had such great fundamentals. Perhaps the same can be said about Frank Mason.
Maybe we need to characterize “fundamentals” better… call it “toolbox.”
Ask yourself: “Is this really what we have to do to win?”
These OADs are the “fools gold” we’ve all been talking about for a few years now.
It’s the “let’s take the lazy approach” to college basketball. After all, it is hard to find good players who will work their butts off through college. And I mean WORK! I mean maximizing their time to make it all about basketball and academics.
We get a team of these guys and we beef up our developmental coaching, we are going to win a lot of games. More than we win now.
I don’t know how much more of this OAD drama I can handle. The quality of D1 has dropped so far it is unrecognizable.
But until we change to a true developmental program, I’ll cheer on the big talent. It’s about all we have now.
I don’t want us to become another Duke. Duke was the laughing stock of college basketball last year… losing with all that NBA talent. Coach K looked like a washed up coach. He could hardly have wished for a better scenario than he had.
The thing that is starting to make me worry some now is Devon is showing in the combine , pretty solid - - although before they said he wasn’t even in the top 2 rounds. - I think no matter how he ends up , strong show and all it’s not good enough to get him even into a latte 1srt round. Plus he still has the weakness that NBA listed that he needs to come back and work on.
They stated Devon recorded in the top 5 in the 3/4 sprint at 3.14 sec - -and hit just shy of 60% of various 3 pt shots - and he had 5-8 from 2pt - - - had 9 assists - - - 6 rebounds - - - a Block in 22 minutes. - -That’s a pretty solid line in 22 minutes of play - - I think this line was against the team Quentin was playing on. - -had 2 pretty solid outings - -that’s what kind of scares me. - -but hopefully he will come back - -work on those weakness – like I said after next year he comes back – ALL bets are off. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
@Kcmatt7 I didn’t get one last year, but there are official KU sanctioned autograph men’s (and women’s) basketballs you can buy. I’m not sure where you get them online (used to be kustore.com; it’s changed), but you could pick them up at the allen field house gift shop.
You can, and the proceeds actually end up going to charity. Minus a small 10% markup on the cost of the ball.
I use the eye test… There are times that NBA defense is so laughable that the channel demands to be changed and usually is. Again, you sight statistics, and are making my point… The 3-point and overall shooting percentages in the NBA are going down every year. Why? Because they are jacking up too many damn threes and do not pass the ball for easier shots. And It is all ISO inside, therefore why even play defense (which they don’t)? Bad product. Low to mid 30s from 3 for so-called pros? Low to mid 30s from 3 for so-called pros! Why do you think guys like Doncic are dominating? The NBA is a bad product and it is only going to get worse. The NCAA tournament this year blew away anything that the NBA can offer, anything. Even the so-called pro prognosticators all but admitted as much.
Shooting percentages are NOT going down. That is just factually incorrect.
If you want to say that the analytics of shooting more threes makes the game less enjoyable, that’s a subjective argument. We can agree or disagree on that. But saying that shooting percentages are down is objectively wrong. They are not. 2Pt% is steady. 3Pt% is steady, after trending up in recent years.
Appreciate the suggestions andguidance @BShark and @drgnslayr - I made the outreach to the Self’s staff and the AD’s office. Alas, no nibbles (or sips). Perhaps HCBS is just a beer guy after all as per @Marco… Perhaps its just a matter of everyone being focused on and getting ducks in a row for good news from SDS, Tucker, Hampton et al…
