It's well done. I think CBS/Paramount picked these programs to follow based on their likelihood of making a deep run in march.
WRT KU, not a whole lot was new for me, but it was interesting to see some behind the scenes.
The documentary picked a player from each program to shadow and that was Darren P for KU and Yaxle L for Michigan. I felt there was striking contrast between these two players-- Yaxel allowed a great deal of transparency and access to his family, while Darren seemed guarded and less personable, with no reference to his family. There was also some interesting parallels / differences between Self and May. Worth a watch.
Last episode drops April 18. Will feature post-season, which should be a rollicking fun ride for Wolverine fans.

Dont sleep on VCU, end up like the twins.

VCU had a better guard room than us last year. KU had the best individual player but he was out half the time and our back end was terrible.

I love watching KU play basketball. I love being other teams super bowl. Frankly we are that to just about every team that plays us. The only team that can talk any smack about us right now in the league is Baylor, and maybe Houston a recent runner up. Arizona hasn't been to an elite 8 since 2015, final 4 since 2001. Yes they could break that embarrassing streak of no FF's this year. We're crying because we haven't been there since 2022? Iowa St? Laughable to hear their pitiful fans talk smack on us. They've not earned the right because, well they've been waiting since 1944 when my 89 year old mom was 8 years old to play in a final four! BYWho? They're a midmajor that's been to 3 elite 8's. Texas Tech at least has a recent proud achievement with their national runner up in 2019.
So I'm still darn tooting pleased to be cheering on the crimson and blue. We've still got lots of great stuff going on. Jump back on board Mr Nuleaf!

Yep. This defined the game and it's stunning.
If you look at this team's record with these remarkably anomalistic, highly improbable and statistically aberrational numbers, you might be tempted to throw a couple of these losses out.
They are pretty good if you take away the weirdness. Or is it weirdness? What is the norm?
It's just hard to know whether this team can still gel and harden and normalize into its full potential at this point.

My main concern as it has been most the season is the rebounding. The refs were garbage and it’s starting to become major news across the country right now because what is a foul or a traveling one game is not in another. Sometimes which end it is on is completely different, they could’ve very easily called at least another 10 fouls on Arizona with how tight the whistle was for them. You guys and gals know I’ve always said professional sports in this country are rigged. I’m starting to wonder if college isn’t the same. It literally looked like KU cut it to 2 and the refs got a page or text reminding them of the spread. I think they should press have conferences after the game for officials. I mean how many of us can repeatedly do our job wrong or not all without having repercussions? The guy cleaning the ice machine at McDonald’s gets written up for forgetting to do it but officials at the second highest level of sports in this country making 6 figures have to answer to nobody.

I know what you are thinking... drgnslayr is back to hammer down the need for a "chip" moving forward. And, of course, you aren't wrong!

But I'm going to add to my obvious perspective.

We now know we can beat any team in America. We also know we can lose to any team in America. What is the deciding factor? I think most of you now get it. It's all about defense! We shut down Houston, and then besides Tre, no other player had a big offensive night.

Even with Flory in the paint, we are capable of getting pounded in the paint. That still doesn't usually measure up to losing a game. Most of the time, we get beat from the 3s. We are capable of losing, even when our defense isn't too bad on the perimeter.

Last night, I watched the play where Mel took off on a fastbreak at full speed, then he hit the breaks for an almost flat-footed dunk. That gave me an idea, once I meshed what he did with what Houston does constantly... half of their offensive boards are not rebounds as much as they are spiking the ball out to the perimeter.

Have any of you played ball on the perimeter? Do you know how hard it is to focus on netting 3s when you also have to worry about your guy taking off on a fastbreak?

It doesn't seem like we truly utilize the speed Melvin possesses. What if we spiked or tossed him a few touchdown passes for runouts every game? Not only can we pickup some easy baskets... we should make teams think about it throughout the game. I bet we can bring down opposing teams' 3-pt %s considerably, if we play to this strategy. We don't have to use it constantly. But we should keep sending Mel throughout the game so teams think about it.

Self mentioned last night that we are far from reaching the ceiling of this team. Doesn't some of that ceiling involve the potential of using Mel's speed? I'd throw DP's speed in this, too.

And when Flory is out on the perimeter defending? Send him once in a while! He has great speed!

What our guys need to know... sometimes it's smart to charge after a 3-pt shooter like you are going for an aggressive block, when really you are starting to run by him on your way towards a fastbreak!

If you study our defense carefully... you will find that the biggest factor in making us have a great defense is having Flory. It's not just that he swats some balls. It's that he gets into the heads of the teams we play. This was definitely the case against Houston!

Why can't we sometimes run the fastbreak to add one more thing to put in teams' heads? Why won't it work?
