@wissox I think a couple of things may be in play. We haven’t necessarily fared all that well in KC…the KU crowd is not as loud and effective as rattling the opponent as we see in AFH…could be type of fan (i.e non-rowdy student), acoustics that affect the noise.
Also,…I can imagine that NC and Kentucky fans may have already bought tickets on the secondary market gambling that their chances are pretty good they make it there. Further, those that wait until they see if they make it…are probably pretty willing to pay a high price to go.
Hence,…I don’t think we will have the advantage that some might think on the surface.
Here’s one tip on picking a bracket upset. Rick Barnes has not made it past the first weekend in his last 7 NCAA tournament appearances which includes last year as a 2 seed at Tennessee and his final 6 appearances while still at Texas.
I think I’ll just go ahead and ride with Ol Ricky boy this year and his cast - -they call me the gambler lol - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
My picks to come out of each region are Duke over Sparty in the east. Michigan over Gonzaga in the west. The south is the hardest region to pick because so many of the top seeds have a history of early exits. I think I’m going with Wisconsin over Villanova in the south. In the midwest, I’ll take UNC over Kentucky.
In the Final Four, I’ll go with Michigan over Duke and UNC over Wisconsin and in the title game, I’ll take UNC over Michigan and Roy announces his retirement after the season.
Their legs are fine. These are 20-year olds. Iowa St has played 3 straight games too by the way. What they lack is effort and shooting ability.
That’s what I was saying yesterday to - -at the radio when Haney was trying to talk about tired legs - -don’t think he was fricking listening to me - -he kept saying oh could it be dead legs. - like you said Hell this was Iowa St’s 3rd day in a row too
Soo if your going to try and blame this on tired legs - soo your saying Iowa St’s conditioning is better then ours
-their 3 straight day to - so that’s got to be what your saying - - -Iowa St conditioning Coach better then ours seeing as how we got tired legs and Iowa St don’t?
We have to much inconsistency - -long scoring droughts - ineffective shooting - - what was our 3 pt percentage yesterday - -might have a game of decent 3’s then go 2-3 games where they couldn’t make a 3 if their life depended on it. - Our loss wasn’t because of tired legs - maybe part but in no way was that the reason
@approxinfinity I suspect they don’t have McDonald’s All-Ukrainians, but Svi also came in with quite a bit of hype, for a foreign kid. We weren’t sure about him for a while, but he turned out pretty well. I’m still optimistic for Grimes.
@BShark they just paid Strong 10 million to go and have been asking for funding the new basketball arena. I was doubtful they had the 13 million to get rid of him in a sport no one cares about in Texas.
If Townsend walks away it’ll be a mutual parting. He and Self have way too much respect for each other for it to end poorly. Also keep in mind he’s about 60 and has kids at home. He may want to spend less time on the road.
