Looks like Stanley is announcing on April 17th. So still a ways to go in his recruitment.
ya little ways. - -Like I was saying earlier though. I would think if Quentin comes back next year which at this point I think he absolutely should - -if he indeed does that then that would pretty well take care of Stanley committing here I would think. - -Wouldn’t you think so ? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Some kids thrive in the moment. Opportunity and motivation can go a long ways.
Silvio took a few games but he was another that given the opportunity seized it and ran with it last year.
I keep thinking back to when Self went and saw him play and offered him a scholarship. The way they talked about him is what we are seeing right now. I hope it continues, he’s becoming a favorite of mine already
Agreed with @nuleafjhawk, and @jayballer73 there’s nothing wrong with stepping away from a conversation, anyone can respect that too. Hell I wasn’t in the chat all for several games, needed to just watch the games with the family sometimes. No big thing. This board is here to share when you wanna share, should be relaxing, not stressful, don’t stress. I understand being your own worst critic, because I am mine. All good man.
that Shaka has the program right where Barnes did - - - -
Yep… and look at Barnes now! Ha!
That should make everyone look a little harder at this. I’m not a Shaka fan. But maybe, just maybe, it is the environment in Austin that is the real problem! Not Shaka or Barnes. I know Texas lost one of the classiest human beings on earth when Barnes left. I don’t care what anyone says… the Big 12 suffered a big loss when Barnes left.
@drgnslayr Texas basketball doesn’t get support from the UT administration nor from the public, but look at what Barnes is doing at Tennessee - WOW. However, when Shaka moves on from UT, don’t look for anything out of him to compare to Barnes. We’re talking apples and oranges (no reference to TX) here, and the oranges leave a lot to be desired.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Very true the team hasn’t had a winning conference record since 2000. Bonnie got lucky with sweet 16s back to back years but even in those years never finished higher than tied for 6th in the B12. I honestly thought she was a good hire when we got her, she was pretty good at Virginia Tech. This definitely a make or break year for Schneider, he needs to bare minimum finish 6th in the conference and make the NIT. That may not even be good enough to keep him around. Rich Price should’ve retired atleast 5 years ago, he’s good guy but has only finished in top half of the conference 2 times, the last being in 2014.
In my book, there is only one situation that can compete with a good 4-guard offense… it’s having two bigs, one who is a monster in the post, and the other that has mastered the trey. Talk about taking one out of the NBA script…
Except for maybe Duke… I can’t think of another D1 team that could guard an offense like that. Especially when your trey-shooting big can haul arse up and down the court!
When Doke was in the mix, I had dreams of this team really killing it with Dedric on the trey and Doke in the post.
So… the heck with it. Bill will adapt. He will turn this into a formidable 4-guard team.
The guy we really need to step up now for 40 minutes a game… is Vick. He is doing much better than at any time during his KU career, but he still goes stealth for long periods. He just falls back into a comfort zone, especially when the other team puts more pressure on him. That’s when he has to realize his answer is to turn up the juice and do it his way. He sometimes gets a bit frustrated and tries to do things that aren’t there, consequently, turning the ball over too much or forcing a few shots. Fortunately, he’s a good enough shooter that he makes quite a few of his highly-guarded shots. But this isn’t how he needs to finish his senior year at Kansas. He needs to focus a bit more on creating without the ball to break open for more catch and shoots… or catch/shot fake/drives.
No one in D1 can stop Vick when he plays the right game and focuses on his skill set and the parts of the game he has already mastered!
@kjayhawks A medical redshirt should be a possibility if KU plays at least 30 games. Criteria include played in no more than 30% of a team’s games, and must have been injured with a season-ending injury in the first half of the season. He played in only 9. We have played 14, with 17 left, so we will have 31. At least. Unless something really really REALLY bad happens.
Still not sure how this KU team beat MSU and Tenn.
Doke was just a horrible matchup for both teams. Especially MSU and Ward.
That’s probably the biggest thing KU is going to miss. There would have been a handful of games coming up where Doke held such an advantage that he would have changed the complexion of the game on his own. No question when Doke was engaged and having his way in the post everything else seemed to work itself out. Self mentioned Doke was sort of a security blanket and that’s true. Now KU is forced to see who can step up in his absence…
The sad part is that when the guy said he would take care of it for me – he did – and even though i called days before the start of the new month – he didn’t cancel me til the end of the NEXT month. Total B.S. Rip off city. I decided it wasn’t worth the $5 to call back and deal with it again. Pissed though.
Mayjay, i did try those instructions you offered, as well as many other options, before even seeing them from you. no luck. Apparently since i ordered through my Android TV app, that complicated matters somehow. A mystery wrapped in an enigma.
So, in theory the saga is over. We’ll find out next month for sure though…stay tuned!
