  @Crimsonorblue22 We’ve seen that movie too. Great stuff. If you want to hear her speak, there’s a podcast called “The January Series of Calvin College” and she spoke at that school in 2011. The podcast is still there. Fascinating story from her. As per the other discussion it varies a little place by place but as a rule, public schools can’t just kick out a kid because they’re disabled. But I’ve been on the receiving end of many a kid kicked out of public charter schools (in almost all cases because of behavior) and we had no choice, we had to serve them educationally. They generally were not my best and brightest unfortunately.

  @approxinfinity If you read what I actually wrote, I’m not addressing what he did (founder and sole employee, apparently). I was addressing the type of structure, not the activities, and the comments that seem to find it nefarious that the conservative donors are not disclosed. Planned Parenthood is also a dark money group.

  A little food for thought: Most immigration to the U.S. actually comes from Asia now - primarily India and China, but other places as well. Many of the “illegal” immigrants in the country were actually once “legal” immigrants. They are now here because they have either overstayed their work or student visa, or have not met the conditions to have their visa renewed. Asylum seekers are a different category than regular immigrants. Lumping them together is lazy because they come to this country under different programs and must meet different requirements. I’m not going to try to dive into all of the politics of it because immigration and asylum are complex things. I will note that just because Democrats don’t support a border wall doesn’t mean open borders. Did you know that Mexico actually has had a negative immigration rate with the U.S. over the past few years. That means more people went from the U.S. to Mexico than from Mexico to the U.S. Just a few items to think about while you sit on the couch in a food coma over the next few days.

  @justanotherfan I am very familiar with Government issued offcial ID card; in most of Latin America it is called Carnet de Identidad and it is required to do any paperwork with the government. Unfortunately, every time this has been proposed in this country it has been opposed…by liberals…that claim big government is trying to keep track of everybody. if you think this will ever be implemented in this country you are absolutely dreaming. BTW, all this countries that have the government issued ID have even bigger problems with vote fraud so it is not the solution. Having to show proof of identity such as a valid license or birth certificate is not not that much of a burden and a samll price to have clean elections. We have to present proof of identity to buy cigarettes or liquor, legally drive, see certain movies or apply for government benefits and no one seems to have a problem with it; it becomes a problem when you want people that cannot prove they can legally do it to actually vote. Do you know the Lakeland Shooter registered to vote from jail, gave the jail address as his address and was legally registered? Our system is broken because there is a vested interest to have ineligible people vote…it is really that simple and fraud is rampant.

  A tour of the White House is a great experience. It’s something that you should do if you get the chance. I have been in DC a couple of different times, but both times no tours were available the days I was free to go. Maybe next time. There is a lot of history around DC. Not just the White House, but all along the Mall. The White House is tough to get into now (for good reason), but the Smithsonian and all of the memorials and other museums make a DC trip worthwhile if you are into the history at all.

  Trump may have some severe incompetencies, but he’s brilliant in other categories. Critics and followers often try to boil him down to something simple; I think he’s actually a pretty complex person.

There used to be a time when debates and conservations where had among the greatest minds and the regular average joes. It was celebrated. Now it’s about just winning. It appears that our leaders are more concerned about keeping their cushy government jobs, than just being a public servant. Just doing what is right. It appears to me all they care about is getting reelected.

  @Kcmatt7 Jew does not equal Israel. Many Jewish friends of me and my family do not condone things Israel has done/is doing. That guy is obviously insane though.
