What a weekend of baseball! Some very exciting games and surprises in the super regional round. Both KU and WVU hosting supers. Hopefully they can keep things rolling and punch their ticket to the CWS!
Ooof. I never realized how terrible Arkansas fans are. They give UK fans a run for their money! Yikes.

KU is the 14 seed hosting Northeastern Friday at 12. Arkansas and Mo. State are tthe other 2 teams in the regional. Not thrilled to see Arkansas in KU's region given how KU has done against them in the postseason in various sports in recent years.
I think they actually ended up with the 15 seed. Way lower than I was expecting. Big12 was not treated favorably. I thought KU should be in the 12-13 seed range, certainly ahead of Nebraska who they went 2-0 against this year in head-to-head. I also thought TCU should have been safely in the tournament but the committee elected to put Kentucky in who only won 2 weekend series in the entire SEC season.
KU has a tough group of teams in their regional, highest overall average RPI of any regional. Then if they win it they likely have Ga Tech waiting. It won't be easy, they just need to do their thing and win. Hopefully a few upsets along the way make the path easier if possible.
That was a crazy game early on, held on by a hair many times before they blew it open late. Very tight game most of the way.

Tough game today against OSU. I think if they win they will likely end up as a playoff host. A lot on the line!
Texas Tech and Utah eliminated. KU plays winner of BYU vs Baylor.
Conference Tournament starts today! KU is the #1 seed and gets a double bye. First game is Thursday. The game will be against one of (8) Baylor, (9) BYU, or (12) Texas Tech.
Tough week. Hopefully they can shake it off and finish strong. Better to have the slump in regular season than playoffs.
For anyone unfamiliar with the playoff structure, top 16 seeds get to host a regional 4 team double elimination bracket. Then regional champions get paired up at the home of the higher seed for a three game super regional series. So it would be absolutely amazing if KU ended up as a top 8 seed, they would be guaranteed home field advantage for an opportunity to punch a ticket to the college world series.
Just 7 games left in the season, big series upcoming with WVU. The team is on a roll, hope they can finish strong heading into post season!
Great week for KU, we should see them rise in the rankings again today!
That was a fun game to watch and a big resume builder.
KU moved up to #16 in the rankings. They play Nebraska tonight, who is ranked #20, at home at 7:00pm. Big game. Anyone local should try to get out and support the Hawks!
Just saw that too. What are initial thoughts on this one?
Oh yeah, and Ranked #18 in the country now. Pretty sweet.
