I feel his pain. We can all see his frustration at times. That’s not a good thing. He needs a “shooter’s mentality”… forgetting all the misses immediately and being optimistic the next shot will go! He’s an easy guy to set up for a trey. We should run a few easy plays to open him up. We have to show some optimism back to him to stimulate his positivity. I think if we can get him playing with more flow he’ll think less and play more in the moment. He will appear quicker, more athletic, and will nail more treys. We can be negative towards him and almost void him from our minds… but lets get real… we need him off the bench to help out! We have to continue to invest good things into him and I bet it will pay off soon!

I’ve always loved the band. Such a great tradition. Cooler weather is on the way, so I would expect the band to back in their appropriate uniforms. RC

@jayhawks2010 There’s a big difference between knowing stuff happens and being able to prove something is happening. Hell, the NCAA hasn’t been able to prove shit against most programs until the FBI got involved. Bill Self can’t just go and subpoena phone and text records of Duke and UK assistant coaches. Coaches may talk at AAU events, but they aren’t talking about payments to players while sitting in the bleachers because they aren’t stupid enough to do something like that. Those conversations happen in the privacy in hotel rooms where there’s no witnesses to be able to prove anything happened.

I’m critical about David… but I’m also totally behind him and hope he can figure a way to better fit into the lineup. No matter what, we will need his help. He tries hard and that is a big part in this. Who knows… maybe he is our “spark off the bench!” Ha… I’m doubtful we see him many games not starting. Self is right… we do need to have a threat in the paint. We need to be a scoring threat over the entire offensive area. I wish all our guards were better at finishing at the rim. I would feel better about going all guards. And I do support going all guards. I just see Self’s point, too. We need our guards to know how to finish at the rim. That is a huge part of our success moving forward.

I like what I see from most of the young guys. We will start to see more separation as the year goes by… depending on if we can actually play most of our games. Wilson and Harris stick out to me (so far). Both of these guys have a good feel for the game and appear to be able to move at the speed of D1 already. I’m expecting great things out of both of those guys during their Jayhawk years. TGF is a real mystery so far. I think he’s still adjusting to the speed and the enormity of playing for Kansas. He definitely shows some nervousness. Maybe the game will start slowing down for him later in the year and we can utilize his exceptional athleticism. Latrell… I hold out hope he will develop into more than most think. Sure I like to run size. But more… you all know me… I’m pure x-axis. Give me a guy with speed, who can shoot from everywhere, and can make plays. He will be the most valuable player on the floor. And the little guys are very capable of being excellent on defense. First… they have the jets. And if they learn how to position, cut off driving lanes, disrupt opposing offense, steal passes, and get into someone’s grill on their shot… what more could we ask for? The little guys should have plenty of motivation to prove they belong out there. Bryce is the total package. He comes from a basketball family and I’m betting no one is in a hurry to shove him into the league before he is ready. He’s a guy who should spend his summers away at development camps, preparing for the league. But he can’t take anything for granted. Just because he has the look, the body, and some of the talent… that is no guarantee in the No Boys Allowed league. I’m on board with others and think Gethro needs a lot of work, but I trust in Self that he sees something we don’t yet. Maybe it’s just a good practice player/reserve. Don’t know.
