… And the dukey whistles start to blow. Worst offensive foul call ever.

The more I watch other games the more I see how KU can have a highly rated offense this year…
I just thought the exact same thing today.
It’s not us. It’s everyone else. And likely the new line.

I just need Lousiville to not lose by 8

Stanley would have been nice to land…
-
Louisville will lose they wasted no time making that clear already

This is a crazy year. The goal should be simply to get a little better every week. No dominant team.
The tournament is less likely to be driven by major conferences than ever.
The only issue I have with that statement is that the non power conference teams that are highly ranked this year are the usual suspects of recent mid major powers. Gonzaga, Butler, SDSU, Wichita St., and Dayton. Everyone of those teams except for SDSU has at least and E8 appearance in the past decade.
There may not be a dominant team this season, but there’s also very little parity either this season. There’s not really anyone on the top 25 at the moment that if you saw this poll in any random season that you would look at think how are they ranked.
This is a year where the more things change, the more they stay the same. I’m fully expecting the champ to be a traditional power with all 4 Final Four spots going to traditional powers and I am including Gonzaga among that group at this point.
-
Louisville is terrible
-
Horrible call awarding Hurt 3 FTs on that foul. Clearly on the floor.
-
We are kind of saying the same thing. There’s a larger margin of error this year for teams like Dayton, SDSU, Gonzaga, and others.
For that reason I think there’s a better chance a FF team is one or more of those “power” teams from non-power 5 conferences. But, you’re right, it might come from the power 5 but be a “surprise” team like Ohio State or Baylor.
I think that also suggests that there is more parity both within and across conferences. I don’t have stats to back this up… just anecdotally seems like the top 25 teams constantly getting beat.
(PS: you may want to update your sig… Not sure the Astros earned it.)

Omg Jay Bilas just mentioned Doke during the Duke game. Sky is falling.
-
I heard that! I was like WHAT???
-
Of course it was really throwing shade at Doke and praising Doolittle…
-
@bskeet haha true.
-
Cassius Stanley with the wide open airball 3 down 3 with 16 seconds left.
-
How was that not a foul? Oh it was Duke.
-
Fran was talking how good Vernon is during our game
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Vernon has not been good when I’ve watched.
-
So 3 top 5 teams lost twice this week. Crazy year.
-
And Duke takes the Double L for the week.
-
So we should move up, who else?
-
Louisville wins

Cassius and Hurt is the two that kept duke from being blown off the floor. – Cassius 24 points and Hurt 17
Stanley is a freak - really good come along way already this year. Hurt’s defense is horrible. Anytime Louisville needed a hoop, they went to Hurts man ALOT
-
@jayballer73 getting flashbacks to Dedric last year
-
This is going over well w/shockers

Two ranked teams play today, both Big-12 games.
Not expecting any upsets tonight as West Virginia should bounce back at home after a dreadful loss in Manhattan.
Baylor hosts Oklahoma and I would not expect OU can beat them with their 2-3 road record.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 For all the grief some here give Grimes, those quotes from him in that article sound like the light is coming on for him and that he’s realizing that he doesn’t have to listen to his dad anymore.
I know some have pointed out he’s coming off the bench now, but what those people are ignoring is that Grimes is still playing starter level minutes and is still their leading scorer.
He’ll be a 4 year player and by the time he leaves UH, he’ll have a good shot at being AAC POY his senior season.
-
So Chandler Lawson is starting for Oregon and averaging 18 pts per game.
-
Baylor is the new #1 team in the nation jumping Gonzaga in the polls. Also, KU has played 5 teams currently ranked in the top 15 (4 of them in the top 10) to a 2-3 record (1-3 against the top 10 teams).
Also, KU got a first place vote in the AP poll somehow as the Jayhawks moved back into the 3rd spot in the polls.
Another note about the top 25 rankings this week, Rutgers is ranked for the first time in 41 years coming in at 24/25 in the polls this week.

Do you mean 18 minutes a game?
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/chandler-lawson-1.html
Averaging 5 pts a game.
-
Newell voted them 1. He explained in his Twitter why as well.
-
@BShark - if I could read, I’d be dangerous. Thanks.
Correction: 5 pts, 4.5 rbs, little over one assist per game in 18 minutes.
-
@Gorilla72 Yeah no problem. I was just stunned by that possibility based on what he looked like in HS so I had to check.
-
@Gorilla72 don’t be dangerous!🧬
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I really hope so for his sake.
-
West Virginia just killing Texas 45-20 - - I don’t see how Shaka makes it another season

Ended up a 38 point drubbing, 97-59.
Baylor held serve as #1 by 4.
-
@BeddieKU23 Went to bed at halftime and figured Baylor had the game locked up. I see that Butler had 4 pts and was 0-6 from 3. Baylor was 6-26 from 3. But look what they did against us. I guess you could say that this game was an outlier for Butler and the team.
-
Great teams win on bad shooting nights.
-
Chandler Lawson also has not attempted a 3 in 19 games. Obviously he would not have been the outside-range solution to our 4 problem!
-
Maybe some pressure being #1. Baylor has had some C type games and found ways to win (sort of like KU has). I thought the two games before they drubbed KU weren’t that good. A team that can kind of turn it on when they need to.
-
@BeddieKU23 did u see the end of Baylor game? Ou had a steal w/chance to tie, instead they pitch it out to reaves for a 3. Game
-
@dylans Very true.

Yup, I believe he had a chance for an easy layup. Decision Making fail 101
-
Reaves, 2-11 from 3, they had time and 2 on 1. Lon coached ball
-
Another poster from another site posted this , and makes pretty good sense. - - KU loses ONE game and drops five spots. - - Duke loses TWICE in the same week and stays in the top ten. – Something smells lol. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Lost in the Sauce from last night was TCU getting a 11pt win at home over Texas Tech. Tech is now 3-3, TCU is 4-2.
Iowa St got a win over Oklahoma St by 7 at home. ISU is 2-4, OSU 0-6. Setting up their Super bowl on Monday.
-
@BeddieKU23 Looks like Boynton might be losing the cage match.
TCU
Tech being 3-3 I love to see after everyone was on Beard’s junk.
