Same old same old. You think there is a contender and then they all piss down their leg.

    Hopefully KU wins today…

  • @mayjay We are currently living with in laws, long story, but helping them manage old age. TV isn’t always available to me, thus I rely on wifi which isn’t always reliable here.

  • The annual big12 meltdown appears to be happening a month early this year.

  • Did anyone of you all Trae GOD fearing fans just happen to catch what the announcer said when he Jacked up another 30 footer in the end of regulation? – NO ? - -didn’t think so. - - OH one other thing - -did OU win that game? - -GOD TRAE can score 40-50 and lose - -whats the point? - -THEY LOST , - - - -now in all seriousness, putting the chipiness aside , all this game does is probably sit us up for Trae to have another monster night and OU kick our ass Tuesday , gonna to be a war, not sure who we got that will/can guard him/

Glad he is only here for one year - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • 48 points on 39 shots. 8 assists but 7 turnovers. I don’t know, was it a good game or a bad game?

Trae Young is a really good player, otoh in a game where he has 48 points his team might lose to Oklahoma State. We see why he went to OU though, he has over half their shots in this game. That doesn’t happen at KU.

ISU and KSU don’t lose anyone important and ISU adds some really nice pieces. Both will in top 4 in the league next year.

Trae has to bust his ass. - -The Big 12 has found how to try and get after him - -get physical crowd him - -doesn’t always work BUT think it has to wear on him. - He get s mugged sometimes, plus he doesn’t have a lot of help. - -38 shots - -un-godly amount - -BUT who else is going to do it - -without him on that team - -Oklahoma be struggling to be in the middle of the big 12. - it was a so so game for Trae, a lot more goes into it then just points. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @Jayballer54 Again, not only do we call him God but every single person who has ever thought or said anything good about Trae Young has gone on record as saying he has never made a dumb mistake.

You waste a lot of time attacking people for comments and opinions that do not exist except in your imagination.

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich I don’t know about the advanced stats, but it’d be interesting to know what they say about his performance.

  • @wissox Ah, the move north. Very kind of you to do that. Especially if watching sports is more difficult.

You could just take over completely and make them watch, the way we did with my mom!

  • @Kcmatt7 Well in fairness they did just lose Fisher for the season.

ONE thing I like about you - -I really like your sense of humor - -I like that , thanks for making me laugh, almost every time you post - -thank you. - - IN all seriousness if you call him GOD - -I’m sorry for you, maybe when you meet our real GOD - you can ask him if he is Trae - -then see what happens roflmmfao. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BAB - -OH have a great day

  • Who were the announcers for the ou-osu game? One guy crying about KU beating them.

Robbie hummel who player on Purdue when ku beat them in 2012

  • @mayjay Just a season, we’re going to buy a house within a few months and I will become the master of my domain, well, at least master of the remote! I’m finding actually I can watch every game I need to with my devices, project them to the TV.

  • @BShark Today actually.

His conference advanced stats are okay in some areas and meh in others. 105 ORTG and 108DRTG are not great.

Everyone’s DRTG for KU sucks in conference though, for obvious reasons.

Also these stats can be misleading. Mitch has a 136 ORTG in Big 12 play!!! He also has the third highest PER for us in league play. God bless Mitch.

  • @BeddieKU23 Really? Hummel did that game with Benetti? Hummel has been doing BTN games. Saw him the other night in Lincoln. He’s really young and pretty good already I think.

  • @wissox He was also a really good player at Purdue. I feel bad for him because of the injuries he’s had to deal with. Hopefully this goes well for him, I think his commentary is pretty decent. Definitely better than a lot of other people that ESPN employs…

  • Well here we are again, right now at this point , here it is - -it is starting to become a two team race - - -KU - -& West Virginia - -same song - - 2nd verse.

Tuesday game is going to be huge. - - Oklahoma going to be soooo ready , if they want ANY kind of chance in this championship , they just have to win Tuesday.

Trae will be ready you know that as we were right there in the end for his recruitment - -imagine Tuesday even Noble might actually be loud. -We are going to have to bring our game - -strap it up - it will be a war. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich He had some great battles with Kaminsky and Leuer and Hayes at UW. Really enjoyed watching him play. Purdue by the way is scary good this year.

  • Well here we go. - -# 4 - - # 7 - - # 8 - -so far go down today. What a crazy year. I don’t think there is really ONE really dominant team this year in college Basketball. Every team has some flaws for sure, going to be an interesting tournEY I think. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @wissox They appear to be very good, yes.

Ha you missed what I said about not knowing the advanced stats. What I mean was I suck at math and ORTG/DRTG/PER are meaningless to me, but humor me at least and tell me what they mean!

  • @Jayballer54

You did acknowledge that Trae might be the best option OU has. Here are the shooting stats for the game. For comparison, Trae’s overall % on 14 of 39 was 35.9%, he shot 40% from 3, and 100% from the line (12/12).

The rest of the team shot 2 of 15 from 3 (13.3%), and 3 of 5 from the line. They made the same # of fgs, 14, but took 5 more shots to do it, 32.5% on 14/43.

  • PER is player efficiency rating and it’s one of the better stats to indicate offensive efficiency. Right now his PER is 33.8, which is very very good. It might go down after this game. PER doesn’t consider defense, though.

  • @wissox Mitch’s 136 conference ORTG means he is a TRUE STUD BALLER.

But on a serious note they try to measure how many points that player would score on 100 possessions. However it is impossible to factor in the fact that Mitch is only really taking open shots and dunks vs Trae Young is actually chucking up a lot of shots and is a volume scorer.

Mitch’s conference 21.5 PER is really quite nice and more than I expected out of him. He knows his role.

  • @mayjay Ya Trae needs help. - No matter how good he is , you can’t do it by himself , which I think he forces at times and there goes your turnovers. - -Glad he is here only one year. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Trae Young can score 150 against us - as long as we win. Who gives a crap if somebody averages 35 per game if they lose?

  • But if you are a good coach, what do you call for ou at the end knowing they will be double teaming your guy that takes over 60% of your teams shots?

  • @Crimsonorblue22 I watched the whole stupid game and i’ve already forgotten - was OU down 2 or 3 at the last possession? If it was 2 - give it to anybody that can shoot 60% from the FT line and let him drive to the basket.

  • Wow, those unis on Silo Tech. Probably the ugliest uni I’ve seen since … never.

  • Crimsonorblue22 said:

Maybe an alley-oop from Trae? Get someone close to the basket and have him throw it at the basket sooner rather than trying to create an open shot.

Easy to say with 20-20 hindsight. If Trae hits that game winning shot, his legend grows.

  • @bskeet they are not going to let Trae catch it?

  • Well, for you one’s that think it’s me - - I have a woody for Trae , how I have a personal vendetta against Young, not sure if you watched or have been listening to sports figures , former players - analysts - -writers even OU fans on message boards ? -They tearing his ass up. You seem think I have it in for Young - you have no idea - -no clue , the things I’m saying is just the same as many many many others are.

Hell if anything I’m on the lower end of the totum pole for Trae , I can acknowledge he is sensational player but if you listened to Jay Bilas - - Jay Williams - - Seth Green berg , the commentators on the game afterwards - -sports writers - -hell even OU fans. - -I could post quotes , thread after thread after thread - but I’d wear my keyboard out. - -Only thing I can tell you to do is check out the ESPN college conversation board about the OU-OSU game for one example.

As I mentioned Trae young plays terrible defense if any for 3/4 of the game. - Jay Williams and Seth both giving an example asking what the hell was he doing when OSU was down by 3 in the final seconds and allowing the OSU player to drive right down the side of the court and offered little resisitence flipping an arm as he put up the tying three point shot - -uncontested no defense at all, they gave multiple examples of what he could/should of done.

Before you want to try and justify his shots and play talk about he has no help - - ya he doesn’t maybe BUT like they showed on multiple possessions you just have Trae dribbling with the ball and FOUR players just standing around doing nothing watching Trae and waiting to basically rebound NO OFFENSE at all, and then when he HE DOES pass the ball they aren’t ready cause biggest majority he is one on one and jacks up shots.

Seth says at some point their going to quit rebounding the ball, there is going to start having decension on the team - -Jay Williams saying that they have to get this fixed with Tare.

14-39 - -8-20 from the arc and no one else o the team made more then THREE shots no one more scored more then 8 points.

I’m saying you think I hate Trae - -lmao - -ok that’s your little story , you write it up all you want to twist it knock yourself out. - -here to tell you that it’s FAR from me - -these other are really on his ass. - I could give you many posts - -articles but I won’t. - just don’t be coming at me with how I have a hard on about Trae. - I think he is a really good player, I just don’t have my nose buried up his ass like you do that’s all - -and evidently neither do ALOT of others including his Oklahoma fan base

  • @Jayballer54 I agree, Young is going to have to learn to use his teammates more. I thought he took so many ill advised shots yesterday when Latin had his man sealed for a dunk or lob. I read some folks complaining about some of the fouls DTG and Newman got yesterday, Young gets every call you could imagine around the hoop. He had one play where he fumbled it away and OSU took it without touching him but a foul was called. He lives at the line. If he doesn’t start playing thru other guys he may cause them to quit on him, you can get away with it awhile when winning games but a guy shooting it 39 times and only making 14 not gonna fly.

  • @kjayhawks they always show Trae complaining to the refs, some day that will back fire

  • T. Young is a very rare talent; at this moment, the only Big 12 player I am inclined to watch, other than our Jayhawks. In my opinion, he is much more enjoyable to watch than was collegiate frosh Andrew Wiggins. In recent Jayhawk seasons, the only two players who could match him in eye-catching astonishment might have been Joel Embiid and Josh Jackson. I think it is a shame that his OK teammates cannot deliver on his sometimes amazing passes. If the Sooners possessed a topflight forward or center, Trae would probably average 12 or 13 assists rather than his current 10; and opponents would not be so bent on double and triple teaming him right from the opening jump. I fully expect Bill Self and Co. to figure out a way to defeat Oklahoma, at least one of the two league games. But that kid is bound to give us fits…and to post some scary stats. I look forward to watching him play professional ball, surrounded by teammates whose skills are commensurate with his. By Year 3 in the NBA he will most likely be recognized as a top 6 NBA pt. guard. Just my not so humble opinion, freely shared!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Crimson, I think some of his chatter with officials is merely an attempt to swallow and adjust their whistles and viewpoints. Recently, I have noticed a bit of Young’s chesty shoulder shaking after his spectacular shot making, something which detracts from his normal steady serious demeanor. Curry does that kind of stuff, too. Maybe the kid is spending a bit too much time studying not only the play but the ugly glitter of NBA moneymakers.

  • @REHawk Oops, I meant to type “swallow and DIGEST.”

Here is some of what was written in a article. Oklahoma scored at just a 1.01 points per possession - -that’s not going to win you very many games.

Saying it’s not like Young doesn’t have other capable team mates of being and have been good secondary options - -James & Manek are shooting a combined 41 % on 3s. - It says you can’t seize opportunities if you have been missing 25 shots in 43 minutes.

They were saying last night during game day with Kentucky and then later Trae needs/better be getting his team mates more involved again - -his teammates are standing around -cause their thinking they not getting the ball - -to much one on one -

here is another post: Basketball is a TEAM game , something Trae obviously didn’t learn and STILL isn’t being taught. - He had 48 points but several of his 3’s that he made were poor shot selections.

Another point brought out in a article states: The question here isn’t whether Young is really sensational ( a point which I have stated many times here , he is an awesome talent BUT - then there are people that think I’m on a vendetta against Him what the F - - - ever ) – nobody not saying he isn’t really good. But it says the question is whether Okla would have a better chance of winning if the freshman did not record THE HIGHEST FIGURE FOR POSSESSION USAGE in the seventeen years of data set at Ken pom .com. - -many many other statements - -examples from people former players - BUT yet I have the vendetta - - I’ve had it in for him - -ya ok. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @nuleafjhawk

Not quite. If a player is shooting 60% from the line, the chance of making BOTH shots is only 36%.
