Two straight really strong performances. But we have to show we can win on the road. The next two road games at CU and KSU are critical. We have a really difficult back-end schedule. Only games remaining after those in which KU would be clear favorite are Utah, KSU, and Cincy at home. Maybe ASU on the road, but they aren't pushovers, having beaten Texas, OK and Santa Clara, and just a lost a close road game at Arizona. The other games are two against Arizona, BYU, TTU, ISU, Houston, and a road game at OSU. None of those will be easy games, even at AFH.

Carr and Yesoufoo are about as good a pair of guards as we've seen this year. Tiller was very good in the first 15 of the game. Giving Baylor credit for taking the 1 point lead in the first. Tre took good shots and no air balls they just didn't fall. Baylor matched up pretty well with us. Our big guys with 8 blocks and the team with only 4 turnovers and 8 steals.
Carr is another case of it being hard to judge the portal. Over two years, he had scored a total of 42 points in 102 minutes while at Tennessee.

I always wonder why but it's too easy to think disgruntled so it's probably PT or NIL mostly. Anyway give Baylor credit for playing hard to the end and give credit to the Jays for engaged heads up play and the effort is warm and fuzzy. Guys are talking on the court and the bench I love that. AJ Storr looks like a completely different player for Ole Miss 13 PPG 39% from deep.

I can't sleep now. That's a lie.

Gus Johnson is generally fine, but if your team is playing against MSU or UM he can't help but hide his bias.

What a fun Friday night!!! We've watched teams enough to know that we are fortunate to see Coach build the identity of what he wants and getting the results from the players. They have finally figured out how to play with DP rather than watching DP. For all the chatter about him earlier, he now seems to be poised to skyrocket into the stratosphere with endorsements out the wazoo if he continues on this path. Going into a hostile environment will amp up pressure to stop him and his cunningness will shine. Can't wait to watch!

Since KU's next game is Tues at 10PM Central ESPN, I'll be able to tell the general age of those few of you who post during that late night game. I vaguely remember staying up to midnight and then sleeping like a baby afterwards.
-
Now I'm thinking Bill is into coaching this team and the wheels are turning and one of these games he's gonna say "I think they have figured it out among themselves and want to dominate on both ends."
-
Now that's a good take. I'm old and it's cold and she wants me to be her heater. I'll get up at 1 or 2 and watch it probably.
-
@stoptheflop When Colorado was in the league before their home games never started that late. Kind of ridiculous that they're doing that now. I really hate what our league and even our AD has allowed to happen.
-
@wissox83 The later start potentially helpful for west coast recruiting.
Not saying it's good... just saying it's not all bad.
-
Yeah im interested how that happened. He's a first round pick this yr so did Barnes not have a clue what he had? 6'5 with a 7'2 wingspan. Crazy leap
-
ISU loses at Cincy? Geez.. Interested to see if UCF's home mojo is real?
-
@Tallturd1 get her an electric blanket!
-
Well she's a really good cook and really good looking and I get cold too.

I kept mentioning how we haven't seen the complete DP. He looked at 100% in this game!
-
Maybe, but I don’t think he’s fully 100% yet. I think he’s more explosive than we’ve seen so far.

I agree he was closer. His on ball defense is pretty good. He has good hands and length and timing. His off ball defense could continue to improve and if we have any real aspirations this year it will need to. He’s pretty clearly the best offensive player self has ever had at Kansas and he may not yet be at 100% health. If he can continue to draw all the eyes and bodies, we have enough weapons offensively to be a pretty good team on that end. I imagine council and white will come back down to earth shooting the ball at some point. But even then they are still real threats to score whenever they touch it. As are flory and tiller. I’d love for Dawson to get some more run but not sure that quick lay up at the end of the game was selfs favorite play. I just finally watched the game and boy did he get the stare down on that one. Thought I saw him yell “time and score!!” Very angrily after that as pulling it out and taking a full possession was the clear right play for the situation.

Our trio of BT, TW and MC protected the ball, blocked some, stole some, assisted and played with energy at both ends BUT they shot 20% from the field at 5 for 25. They screened, ran the offense, hit their FT's and used good shot selection. Flory and DP's percentage of makes 22/27 was exceptional and we should have been in the mid 90's with mean Bill keeping the rotation tight. Our offense was around 75 PPG pre DP and 83 or so since his emergence. Our bench added 11 points on 50% shooting. We can see the coaching emphasis working and they see the dismal output and it's a real concern. Eighteen more points if the trio had hit their average in this game. DP is going to be tested harder as coaches devise special tactics and probably rough play will be used.

For DP to qualify for national awards and to have his stats ranked on individual lists he will need to play in 75% of his teams games. 18 games for the team would require 13.5 games played At 25 games played 18.5 games DP would be at 15 games. At 32 games 75% is 25 and that is where he would be.
