Beat Baylor !!!!!!!
-
If WVU loses this ISU could somehow finish third in this league.
-
I just heard on the post game that Self told them at halftime to just go out and have fun.
-
Actually, 2nd is still in play for ISU. That’s crazy.
-
@wrwlumpy I know he said Frank is better when he doesn’t draw a play up for him
-
Double OT!
-
Baylor homers blaming the refs as usual LOL. Marsha homers are also saying the zebras help KU. Biggest crybabies in history
-
@BShark Regarding sitting behind the opponent’s bench, when I was at KU, students who got there really early could pick seats, even behind the benches. I sat and yelled one whole game at Norm Stewart and the man never responded. I sat three rows behind Missouri’s benched with some fraternity members and yelled at Norm the whole game. Great fun that our students no longer get to enjoy.
-
@stoptheflop Gosh, how fun. But you should have pulled a Morgan Freeman move.

So for those wondering why Baylor coach Scott Drew called a timeout in the final possession against Kansas instead of letting it play out, he gave an explanation. Drew said Manu Lecomte had hurt his ankle with seven minutes left and there was concern that if he had to go to a different option he wouldn’t have been able to complete the play. Baylor wanted to get the ball to Johnathan Motley. But the play didn’t develop the way it wanted out of the timeout and the side out of bounds. Drew said credit Kansas’ defense.
-
@JayHawkFanToo well ok then! Thanks coach drew! Looked like the play was dribble till the 3 sec mark and throw it up. You sure you didn’t call it?
-
Repeat had to
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Keep that one. Put it up everytime we play them…lol.

Good stuff thanks for reposting.

Fun stat: Baylor didn’t score in the last 3:34
-
@BShark our defense had some great moments.
-
So much respect for Landen.

The tears of a Bayl0re fan.

Forcing turnovers really was an advantage today.
We should double more often we had great energy on certain doubles
-
@BeddieKU23 I thought I was watching the 08 team with all the steals and deflections.
-
Had boys basketball and son’s birthday today Only got to watch a bit of the first half. Hope I can watch a CBS rebroadcast. So pumped we won!

@Texas-Hawk-10 did you notice some fans giving our bench a hard time? Townsend was pretty mad at the end.
There was some guy behind KU’s bench holding a sign up that said 8 on 5 every time Baylor was whistled for anything.
Other than that, I couldn’t tell you anything because myself and most of the KU fans in the building were on the opposite side of the arena from the KU bench.
-
I also noticed that there was a kid in the front row of Baylor’s student section that was holding up a picture of a gorilla every time a KU player went to the FT line in the second half. Had to be either ignorance or racism on his part, but either way, not a great look for Baylor or that kid.

@BShark Landen “Iceman” Lucas. Been a lot of downers on LL, my nephew is one, but by golly he stepped right up and took care of business in that last possession.
-
@brooksmd Has there any talk or rumors of how messed up his right thumb is?
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I don’t know. As far as anybody saying anything on this site I couldn’t tell ya as I find the game more enjoyable without getting aggravated by the negative posts.

He does his best and he is super smart. He might not be supremely talented or athletic but it’s completely fine to have players like that on the team. Self has historically done quite well with this type of player, despite that they are not his preference.
-
Correct me if I’m wrong, and I’m using the old toe/finger counting method vs that new fangled common core math, don’t we assure a piece of #13 if we take care of TCU vs waiting til Texas as someone else posted?
-
Does this loss move Baylor from the 1 line?

Topeka paper website says LL was in AFH at 1:30 a.m. after the WVU game shooting 400 FT attempts. Paid off!
-
@kjayhawks there is still some season left but Baylor probably needs to win the rest of the regular season and get to the finals of the Big 12 to have a chance. UNC is murdering UVA so I could see Carolina getting a 1 with the run they are on or the winner of the Pac 12.
-
@joeloveshawks yes Oregon is playing good right now. I don’t buy in to Gonzaga they are always knocked out early.
-
@joeloveshawks I agree - the media will push for the ACC winner to get a one seed. I think Roy will get the last one
-
@mayjay that’s excellent
-
@mayjay I heard he was still in his uniform, just stayed after game
-
@brooksmd yes
-
@brooksmd he does all those things that don’t show up on the stat line.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Great stuff girl …
-
Not to be a dick I’m so proud of LL but he did go 0 for 2 from the one earlier in the game. But hes working. “We will never be perfect, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence” -Vince Lombardi.

Probably, and I doubt they will win out with at ISU and home for WVU remaining on their schedule.
-
@HawkChamp Agreed. I will be shocked if the ACC winner doesn’t get a #1.
So, the Hawks are in a great position for a #1 seed. especially with the upcoming week schedule. With our 4-0 record against the top 5 this year we may have a shot at the #1 overall. What do you guys think? Does it even matter? Last year we were the overall 1 and Nova was our 2 and they were obviously not the worst 2 seed. I guess I personally just hope that we get the #1 in the Midwest so we have to possibility to go through KC regional.

That quote is brilliant.
-
@joeloveshawks I agree. I kind of have a feeling the committee will want to put Marsha in our region again. Thoughts anyone?
-
@HawkChamp I want them
-
@HawkChamp the committee is a sucker for matchups so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if WSU ends up in our region as an 8/9. Personally I think that would be great. They are not nearly as scary as some of the other potential round of 32 teams we could face.
The key is holding serve at home against TCU and OU and we will win the Big 12 alone. We will likely then win at least one game in the Big 12 tourney and get a #1 seed. It still amazes me how huge it is to get a 1. Over the last few years we have seen that the 2 seed is no cake walk in the first round and I’m not just talking about losses but the toll of a close game. The 1 seed tends to be pretty fresh for their next game. Can’t wait to see who we play and where we go. This team is so tough which could be special in March.
