Lindenwood Lions

@stoptheflop I like it too, especially Washburn. Do you suppose that game will disappear the more teams we add?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 it’ll still be good to have a tune up. Might as well use it to benefit an in state school. Hopefully it continues.
-
Easy win, semi-local, cheaper than buying a G5 game.

No, very few schools FBS schools don’t schedule an FCS game. Only 15 FBS schools aren’t playing an FCS school this season and USC is the only FBS school to have never played an FCS game.
-
I probably wouldn’t know Lindenwood existed if not for a gal I was fooling with in highschool going there lol. This maybe the easiest game we have ever scheduled they are most likely worse than the 2016 Rhode Island Rams that we beat 56-6. It’s always tough with no preseason in college and no FCS schools in Kansas. SEC teams are notorious for having garbage non conference schedules. I’d be shocked if we didn’t win this game by 60 points. Good news maybe Jalon only has to play a half to knock off rust.

I was just listening to Micheal Swain , he was doing a small podcast about the preview and talking about how things have changes for KU . & being able to see it in the betting lines. —KU opened up he said by Fan Dual KU opened up as a 43 1/2 point favorite.
He said it would be interesting to see what happens during the week. -In comparison last yr, can’t remember who it was but we open as a 32 1/2 favorite - --the over/under is 58- -making the score like 51-7 - -yippee let the Season begin

I assume the Lindenwood game will be treated like an NFL exhibition game: starters the first Q, 2nd string Q2 and reserves the rest of the way. Coach Self plays the starters most of the exhibition game, which always surprises me. I fully expect that Coaches Lipold and Grimes will show some mercy at The Mercy Park stadium.

This is not an exhibition game, it counts for real and Leipold will treat it as such. If KU builds a huge lead, then Leipold will start subbing in back ups. If the game stays close, then the starters stay on the field for the entire game. KU’s schedule is very soft this year so they’ll need some style points to help with rankings.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 It’s nice to need style points instead of being the source of someone else’s style points!
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 My thought was to let Jalon knock the rust off, but not risk injury againt the Lions. Of course I know the Lindenwood game counts. Jeez.
-
@stoptheflop I don’t mind it in basketball since it’s considered an exhibition, but Lindenwood does nothing for us in my opinion.
-
Well I just learned it’s in Missouri, so I won’t be satisfied with it being just a warm up game. Let’s go all Georgia Tech over Cumberland on them and beat them 220-0.
-
See I hop we can get Jalen out s possible without injury – with Jalens injury history as you know we are only one hit away from our season probably taking a complete 360.- -I just keep seein during the course with opponents also knowing his history that someone - - -on a given night gonna take that late hit on Jalen trying to take him out - - -Jalen get’s hurt and season is over for him --just a re-occurring nightmare I have-- I so hope I’m. - wrong. Jalen does his business and turns it ov to Ballard / Marshall. We don’t need him getting in hurt like a game like this. Protect your starter.
-
The Lindenwood coach and Leipold have known each other awhile and the KU staff goes to a “megacamp” there. For more, see:

I’m both excited and nervous over Jalen playing, he has to for sure but yes one hit on him and we are gonna be lucky to make a bowl game. I’m also excited at the same time to see him play and hopefully return to form because he can be a special player. Also something that hasn’t really been mentioned yet is new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes gets to debut his offensive for the first time. Coach K was brilliant and is IMO one of the best young offensive minds in the game. Well wishes to him at PSU, the pre snap movement and glitches were an art.

Been hearing from one close to the program watch for more shots down the field —stretching the field, using our receivers a little more

We ready! ️
-
Protect all key assets so they’re healthy when the competition increases next week at Illinois, a game that I now have tickets for with a bunch of KU friends!
-
Fun!
-
I sure hope the ESPN+ broadcast is decent; I always have to mute the announcers about 10 minutes into the game. I greatly look forward to everyone’s comments during the game. Bring on the Lions.
-
Today the big thing to look at is how the lines on both sides of the ball play. LT is a question mark. DE is a question mark.
The two freshman edge rushers should get big minutes and I’m hoping to see flashes from Dean Miller.
I also will be watching for any changes to the scheme with a new OC.
Otherwise stay healthy.
-
I just hope both teams have fun…
