@dylans if I’m not mistaken he has 4 losses by more than one score in his career and has the highest win percentage in NFL history in games he’s trailed by double digits in. You saw with Wentz how much Pat improvises to save sacks and make plays.

Chiefs didn’t play defensived game plan they will use in playoffs. Reid and players said it was essentially a preseason “basic vanilla” defensive plan. And the Chiefs were 0-4 in preseason. DJ wasn’t very good but didn’t have the first string OL in most of his time.

They may not be drinking Bud Light, but they are definitely not thinking strictly about football. State Farm Insurance, Whataburger, KC Royals, Sporting KC, whatever the women’s soccer team is, these are the things they are thinking about. The money makers.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl resting Mahomes last season and went to the Super Bowl in 2023 after resting starters the final week.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl resting Mahomes last season and went to the Super Bowl in 2023 after resting starters the final week.
Nuttin wrong with resting the players IMO. Long ass season. Mahomes hurt, etc. Rest will be a good thing. However, that Broncos score was painful regardless. I would have hoped for more from the team, however many backups were playing. an NFL shutout? Practically unheard of.

@Kcmatt7 it’s just my opinion. They’re going to have 3 weeks (?) off. Practice is not like full contact, game situation football. I don’t know that I’m the Patrick Mahomes of what I do, but I’m really good at my job. After a two week vacation, I’m worthless for a while. It takes time to get back into “game mode”.
I hope I’m wrong. I hope they’re rested and healthy and kick butt. But I won’t be surprised if they don’t.

Okay but using your own analogy they aren’t even off of work. They didn’t all go vacation in Cancun for 3 weeks. There is still structure they are adhering to.

Resting your starters on the last week when you have nothing to play for is standard practice and has NEVER been controversial. I don’t even think the nationally hated Patriots were ever criticized for it in the 2010s. I guess we are now the greatest villains in football history BWAHAHA

I listened to the New Heights podcast the other day and all the people yaking about the chiefs throwing the game has pissed off Kelce pretty hardcore. If yall remember the great playoffs he had last season after a very average regular season. It’s about to happen again I think. He has been saving himself for big games in this stage of his career. Everyone just keep talking and adding fuel to the fire. The chiefs are about ready to be rested and healthier than they been all year.

Well unfortunately I think my boys Season comes to the end today.- -We got the task of playing Philly in Philly ( 14- 3 ) @ 3:30 .
We played them the 1st game of the year and lost 34 --29, just a bad match up- -Hurts is playing- And the stud RB more then anything, just don’t think we are stopping him- -I think he finished right at 2,000 yards rushing didn’t he ?
Think it would just have to be out scoring them in a slug fest even though Josh Jacobs has been really good for us I just don’t feel without Watson & not sure about Dobbs - -two key receivers - -Watson for sure ACL -Afraid I’m going to have to say we probably get beat by two TD’S- -Welp there is always next year lol

To elaborate a bit. Both risky and smart to not go the retread route. McCarthy isn’t winning in the playoffs. Carol is good, but a pretty short term option. Other known options were less appealing. I’d say it was a good hire.

Defense wasn’t great today by any stretch but they made a few key stops when they had too. Barkley is gonna be a tough match up but gonna have a chance for a 3-peat. At least we have the chiefs here in Jayhawk land

I really like Josh Allen. His only real flaw is being born at the wrong time. Mahomes is robbing his legacy. I’m ok with it, just sayin’

I think the bills will want that one back when they watch the film. Cook was phenomenal averaging 6.5 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns. One was all effort on his part. I think they tried to force the ball throwing and were lucky Allen didn’t have at least 2 picks. I think the defense letting up 29 and the Eagles scoring 55 will have them laser focus before the big game. Andy Reid maybe cement his place as one of if not the best coach in NFL history if they can get one more in a few weeks.

There are so many great QBs right now IMO. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Goff and Daniels is looking pretty dang good. I just hate the Allen to Mahomes comparison. Allen has zero MVPs, All Pros and SB victories. The comparison should be dead until Josh gets something going in the post season. As I said above he was very fortunate today he didn’t have 2 picks and 2 lost fumbles.

@kjayhawks - MVP will likely be either Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson this year.
Josh has been knocked out of the playoffs 4 times by Mahomes in his 6 years. That’s a pretty strong C Block. Once by Brady too - not too shabby. Allen may break thru or he may not, but he is a very good quarterback. - I’d take him over anyone not named Mahomes currently (but Jayden Daniels is rapidly growing on me).
