KU vs Wichita game chat

ESPN. SMH. First the football game which was a broadcasting embarrassment… Now this. They are having some issues.
-
28 point lead at one point. Surprisingly the starters that have let them make it look semi-respectable…
-
Must be a mizzou grad running the holiday production responsibilities
-
Please get tired legs Dickinson out and let Parker finish this.
-
Just don’t understand
-
Some of the cameras are sharp. Just the long view of the court. Weird.
-
Refs have not been an issue. Like this crew.
-
Put Christian in
-
WSU is not B12-caliber competition, but I still feel like this team has turned a corner and will be strong in the B12.
-
Other than Nick (who needs to spend some time with the sports psychologist), the 5th spot looks improved
-
League play next game TCU at home. It’s the only time we play them. Glad we got them in AFH
-
@DCHawker didn’t we have furphy, Nick, and Mari in? I think kj and Kevin were out.
-
Walk on time
-
Not sure why all our starters are still out n
-
1st game back, get ready for conference?
-
And now they’re gone
-
Nice work Mari
-
I withdraw my statement to make Nick a starter and move to give his minutes to Jamari
-
Good guys win again
-
Good dub before the war
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR BUCKETEERS. Stay safe and see you on 1/6
-
Any time we get to see Bill going with weird bench combinations not even halfway into the 2nd half plus the walk-ons late is a good game.
-
Maybe El Marko needs to schedule a whole season of Wichita States, played a nice game today

And this is why I don’t care about KenPom or other metrics
-
KJ with career high in rebounds 11

ya, we get to see/play against Ernest- -yippee
-
Nice to see KU look sharp after the holiday break. You could tell they definitely took their foot off the gas defensively in the 2nd half though giving up 40 points.
-
Good game for net and kenpom
-
Good to see marko get going!
-
Hunter better playing lower, catching ball better too
-
Our sorely needed bench 3 point scorers were 1-10. Liked Elmarko’s improvement. Jamari with offensive boards and 4/4 from the line.
-
El Kabong award to Parker in the second half. A little attitude!!

Yeah we tanked hard from like 13-ish to 6 minutes to go in the second half. Mostly bench guys and we scored like 6 points during that stretch. Game was never in doubt.
-
FSU statement game was to be them saying "leave us out of the playoffs? We’ll show you!
-
KJ TREX ADAMS REBOUNDING CAREER HIGH. FIRST TIME IN DOUBLE DIGITS
-
Didn’t get a chance to watch today, decided to take the kids out to a movie and arcade to get out of the house. Listen to some of the second half sounds like we only played down to their level for the first 10 minutes. Will try to watch it later on.
-
Sorry I missed the chat. I was enjoying the nice weather. Inside a casino. Lol
I’m watching the replay now!

Hunter is so good close to the rim, I wish he would quit hanging out above the FT line and quit taking the 15 footers. He is money under the rim.
-
@stoptheflop think that was the point of the week w/coach.
-
Just wanted to say I thought furphy’s footwork was a lot better on D. Better angles!
-
Just wanted to acknowledge that HD will not lead the nation in assists. Or even his own team.
-
Nice game. Loved to see Elmarko make some progress. Some nice moves today. And athletic!
Only one question: why did DaJuan play 36 minutes??? Cmon, coach.

yet him being able to move out to take those 15 footers and make most of them ( shooting right at 50 % from the 3 ) which is leading the team, him being able to do that means a lot. That’s why you see Coach really doesn’t have a problem with that, much more versatile- -with him out there and be able to hit that shot, it forces opposing big men to come out and guard him and that in turns opens up/ free’s up more room in the middle for others such as Kevin & KJ to operate.- if he just camps down low, it clogs up down low and takes away our other options. no problem with how he is playing,

If/when Juan gets into foul trouble or injured, who is KU’s backup PG? Whoever that is, needs more minutes at the point, especially in games where KU has a big lead like yesterday. Like Rockchalk, I didn’t understand why tired legs Hunter and the rest of the starters played so many minutes yesterday. Maybe because TCU is a week away or because the starters started the game so slowly. I thought Johnny looked fine. Jamari only played 8 minutes and Parker played 10. Both would have benefitted from more PT. Oh well, I usually think coach leaves the starters in too long on easily decided games. There must be a reason for it that I don’t know.

Dejuan’s primary back up needs to be Elmarko because that’s his natural position and what he’ll be playing in the NBA.
-
@stoptheflop All I can figure is this is the way they will play the tournament, so they had best get ready for it. Conditioning and playing thru fouls is something they need to figure out. The good thing is the media timeouts are plentiful and helps a short bench in the ncaa tournament.
A short bench will likely lead to a loss in the Big12 tournament with the games back to back to back. That refocusing/reflecting time after a late season loss is something a lot clamor for.
I’d like to win them all, but the last game in April is the one that really sticks with you, so do what it takes even if it leads to a mass exodus. Developing talent in the portal/NIL era is for the mid majors with the exception of a handful of loyal dedicated guys like KJ and hopefully Elmarko - time will tell.
-
I mentioned it earlier but the segment of the game where Bill went bench heavy was a complete disaster. It really needs to be two bench guys in at the same time as the maximum.
-
@BShark yeah! I think I said something about that too.
-
@BShark good point. I will let him know.
-
@BShark he’s just trying to get some PT for the young guys. Starting Saturday we will likely only see 7 or 8 guys plays. Unless foul trouble shows up
