@FarmerJayhawk KJ would be back in a heartbeat if it passes

Only would accept it if he agrees to come off the bench.

Oh we know dolla bill would never not start kj!
DP comes in and spacing is still f’d with Flory and Kj at the 4/5!!!
Throw Elmarko at the 1 and Bill will be like “you wanted more athletic and you got it - now why you mad” - because athletic needs to = more OFFENSE dolla bill
-
Pretty sure Elmarko / DP / Zeke / Flory / KJ / Bidunga / Samis and a solid portal group would be entertaining. Hope Kease and Rylen come back.

I don’t believe KJ will be back and I’m not sure if Samis will make it to campus.
-
@BShark ya I don’t think KJ will be back
-
@BShark Why wouldn’t Kj return if the 5th year passes and applies to him this year?
Why on Sami’s?
-
Griffen is gone barring a miracle
Bama will have a spot but $ needs to line up and not sure it will for a spot up 3 guy who can’t do much else
-
Swain confirmed what I was hearing, with the new roster rule changes, walk-ons are basically no more
-

Unintended consequences
-
So how many scholi’s will we have to max out at 14 ?
-
Can Self keep any of the walk-ons as managers so he can have a scout team for next season since that’s the biggest role of walk-ons.
Wilder Evers, Will Thengvall seem the only two for sure directly affected by this currently on the roster, maybe Patrick Cassisdy and Dillon Wilhite.
Patrick Cassidy is a senior this season and currently getting his MBA after graduating last year. Wilhite already graduated last year and is working on an MBA right now. Justin Cross is a redshirt junior, so I’m he’s graduating this year as well. Since Cross was a 2 year JuCo player, he’ll probably look at a smaller school to play at while getting a masters degree.

That Vernon hearings email was depressing to read…
-
If you believe him
-
Can you please reiterate what was said?
-
Ok i found it and put in a bogus email in order to read it: https://www.kuhearings.com/authors/ceaae8db-9559-4fea-bf37-6d1dbb7935df
-
@approxinfinity not good. talking about division in the team , players confronting one another----trusting one another, Players with confrontations in the locker room- - Coach’s/players splitting and issues, players already looking at the portal
Other things-- just a lot going on- - -this team is done
-
I will be pleasantly surprised if this team makes it to the second round. Honestly hilarious that the metrics love this team so much
-
Can’t read it, so I’ll speculate:
(Sorry in advance. Feeling stupid)
— Bill to team: you’re soft as 3-ply Charmin
— Hunter to nobody in particular: Anybody seen my bag of cash?
— Dajuan during team outing: So if me and the Brauns moved up here, we could all get married?
— Ostertag in Jazz uniform: Listen u little shts, I’ll swat your sht back to Kansas if you don’t pull it together. And who stole my fishing rod?!
— Coach Townsend during pregame meeting as his phone rings: Excuse me, coach. That’s TJ Gasnola on the line.
— Self to Mayo: Zeke, you need to be more chesty on the road.
— AJ Storr to the team: Fellas, I quit.
Everybody in unison: AJ, you already quit like five times this season!
(As KJ admires his physique in the mirror the entire time)

Mentioning post Utah game that there was a heated discussion between players and coaches. Some more specifics but not worth sharing.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk lol i love this
-
@BeddieKU23 Funny that when guys from other winning programs come in and see the s-show with nepotism we run here they get mad and call it out
Rightfully so - been that way for years just the portal is finally exposing it. Guys don’t want to be treated like second class citizens when the “favorites” constantly mess up and lose but play through a multitude of mistakes that the new guys get yanked for
Just retire Self you aren’t getting saved by DP - no one can save you from your 1980’s basketball thought process
-
Program is in a space that’s genuinely disheartening to see
-
We going to confirm or deny Vernon’s reporting……
Pretty evident other 22+ year olds don’t like seeing the drastic favoritism with how 3 guys are treated compared to the rest of the team. Especially when those “other guys” were brought in to help but have been completely f’d out of playing aggressively and loose and their game
-
Staff changes are coming
-
@BShark some retirements?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 said in Early Hearings TM:
@BShark some retirements?
One of those, the other is going to be interesting if it happens…could be a firing but I’m sure that would rather be avoided officially.
So we are probably looking at replacing 1-2 assistants, and creating a “general manager” position.
-
Do we HAVE to replace anyone who leaves? We have sooooo many coaches!

Need to get rid of some of the yes man on the bench
-
As long as it’s not KT, I support any changes made to the staff amd have been calling for it for awhile now.

It’s sounding like Kurtis is just going to be there until the bitter end with Bill.

We have far less than most other programs fwiw. We really do need to add a couple spots imo. Namely someone to focus on fund raising and then someone to pound portal tape.
-
I know coach Q’s son had some form of cancer, not sure he’s of age to retire. I think he’s beat it. I’d guess Norm next. Wonder if we’re bringing Frank in?
-
whoa, interesting development.
-
@BeddieKU23 I will say I’ve heard it for awhile, but wasn’t a believer until recently.
-
Not saying it’s not needed, just that given his loyalty to many on the staff didn’t see it as likely
-
And make no mistake, the opportunity to work for Bill and At KU will be HIGHLY sought after. Like sitting head coaches would peace out to take the job. I do expect Mike Boynton to make a short list tho
-
One guy I’d love to see on staff is Anthony Grant but I don’t think there’s a world where he doesn’t retire a Flyer
-
Boynton would be a quality option
-
@FarmerJayhawk This is out of touch with reality and major homerism
Even the head coach at say umkc isn’t giving up his HC job to come sit on staff under Bill unless he was fired
Every guy wants to run his own program not be some assistant at a big name program
-
@BShark Bill won’t listen to the gm as he’s already admitted publicly so this should be real interesting
Unless we learn to guard the 3 and also shoot more 3’s no gm will fix this
-
@kuballin10 it’s a trend in the industry. Google is your friend. It’s further along in football where G5 HCs are taking P4 coordinator gigs
-
@FarmerJayhawk Give me a few examples
I know Saban takes fired/failed hc’s and brings them in then sends them back on their way
But guys just quitting hc jobs without being fired to demote themselves to working for Self isn’t a thing
-
@kuballin10 Chip Kelly, Scott Loeffler, Kane Wommack, Maurice Linguist.
