Lunardi doesn’t do the real brackets
-
might as well lose by 20, Joe
-
Sad showing.
Do that in first round and you’ll go home.
-
@jessejayhawk I always think we gain by winning
-
Nobody wants to see you jack 3s joe
-
Crap kill him
-
Lol they storm
-
OK, that was not a fun game. Bring on the practice tournament.
-
you refs
-
gotta thow this away - -not dwel on it - -now it gets serious - lot’s of work to do. - 1st things 1st though - -key players need rest
-
-
Refs weren’t great. We weren’t great either. A road loss to a top 10 team isn’t the end of the world and honestly might be good for this team before the tournament.
-
Depressing!
-
Jesus. Worked today so didn’t catch any of this game. Looks like we decided to suck greasy camel taint today. That’s probably gonna make it near impossible to get the overall number 1. But that may be okay if they intend to ever play like that in the dance we probably don’t need the embarrassment of that
-
@cragarhawk bama lost
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I am not so sure in this case, pride is one thing, common sense is another. I will always want to see a win but in this case it didn/t seem to matter that much. I certantly respect your thoughts and as tou do, root for a win, go Jathawks

KU # 1 seed- - -Texas # 2 seed - -K/State -# 3 seed - - & Baylor - # 4 sees in Big 12 tourney
-
@jayballer67 Does that mean we get Baylor for ou first game in the tourny?

No we play the winner of the play in 9/10 I think it’s either Texas Tech or Oklahoma
-
I think it’s a bad idea to play starters when they clearly weren’t up for being competitive. It can’t do nothing but hurt our seeding while it still risks injuries.
Once it was obvious we were flying the white flag we should have yanked our starters.
Perfect time to give extensive minutes to the bench!
That performance was pathetic.
-
On to KC

almost from the word go. - -I haven’t seen us play that poor for some - - -well like they said probably Iowa State. - -Yet which was worse games - -Us getting beat by 16 by the # 9 team on their home floor - or Or Baylor getting stomped by Iowa State on Baylors home floor --Or Oklahoma the worst team in the league supposedly just curb stomping TCU ?
-
Glad I didn’t dig into my savings for a ticket to that.
-
We only scored 59 points. Geez
-
We haven’t (gradey and j will) been scoring great for awhile! We have barely beat some bottom teams.
-
This whole team has been kinda blah mediocre the last three games or so
-
This had absolutely nothing to do with today’s outcome, but will Pettiford ever put it together? Does he have the skill to stick around even as a back up?
Seems to do nothing but dribble into trouble and turn it over for a run out.

We play the 8/9 winner. Tech is the 9 seed and probably WVU as the 8 seed. I don’t know the tiebreaker situation between WVU and OSU, but OSU has a double digit lead on Tech with under 10 to play so it’s looking like that won’t matter.

Gotcha -so chances are WV then ?

@rockchalkjayhawk I’ve wondering about Bobby all year. Self is super high on him for some reason I’ve haven’t seen a plus/minus in a game that he wasn’t at least -11. He can’t move laterally on defense and has some head scratching turnovers every game. I’m not saying Joe is great but he at least can give you scoring and is much more athletic.
-
Sorry. My bad. Couldn’t fulfill my gameday rituals while traveling. I will be planted firmly on the couch for any remaining games, Pepsi in hand when we need a run, KU ball cap backwards when necessary. I promise to give my all for the team!
-
@kjayhawks agreed on Bobby. I just can’t find an upside. I don’t wanna be down on a kid but I have to say I honestly cringe when he checks in. I wouldnt call Joe great, but atleast serviceable for stretches. Even tho I think he shoots too much
-
@dylans dammit man…
-
@Crimsonorblue22 We have not played even close to how we played much earlier in the season. We have won close games which is great, but it is concerning with March here. And even more concerning the way our scorers are not scoring consistently. Right now Gradey cannot be counted on as a threat. Something is definitely off; certainly does not look like a lottery pick the past two games. It was as if the team treated today like a scrimmage, but Texas realized that it was a game.
-
I like choosing likely down games to not watch, because then I can just assume the players took the game off like I did and nothign they did was indicative of a real problem.
-
We didn’t play together as a team. They aren’t setting each other up for the best shot. Too much hero ball. I expect a much crisper effort in the B12 tourney.
-
Stats that stand out: JWill and Juan playing 39 and 37 minutes in a beat down - 14 minutes of court time from Udeh, Rice and Pettiford and only contribution to the stat sheet was a foul each - Gradey and KJ each with just 2 RBs each and zero assists.

Very well said. I’ve been thinking pretty much along those same lines. Sure we’ve won games - - games that could of just as easily went the other way - -2 -3 points wins or wins where we have to hold our breath when the opposition puts up the possible game winning shot. Now is not the time you want a team or players to be slumping , NOW is when you need to be playing your best ball – cause now is the time it really counts. I mentioned this yesterday who is our other scoring option right now ? - Like you said it’s not Grady , cause up until he hit that three late he had scored a field goal in over 3 halves -he had made 4 free throws - -THAT’S IT. So with out him , who is the other scoring option ? - -Jalen can not carry this team through the NCAA’s by himself.
Right now as of this moment here is what I’m thinking about our team in the NCAA’S with the way we are playing - -The best scenario I can see possibly is an Elite 8 - but more in reality – -a sweet 16 in more in line. The reasons for that reasoning is : - - Our rebounding – getting beat to death as we have seen in some games on the defensive end - Teams getting 2-3-4 attempts , - -Our inconsistent shooting , we have hit a trend of coming out with %'s - -really bad - just ugly shooting -w do that against a quality NCAA tourney team , they gonna bury us. -You might be able to get away with those kind of nights in the opening round or 2nd game - after that your in Big time trouble. - then the other reason is Grady , he has got to get out of this slump , be more aggressive - we gotta have all hands on deck. With him being our by far best 3 pt shooter – we gotta have that - you put those three elements together- -unless we can get it turned around - -then just can’t see this as a National Champion Lastly have to agree with you on the game today - just seemed no energy, like they almost was at a point like well we already won the Title so it’s ok - - NO it’s not ok.
This is another reason I think they shouldn’t worry as much about this post season Big twelve tourney.- Give those guys some rest - -let them heal up . give them some fresh legs , -get those reserves some playing time we can use late in the tourney. - We have proven who the champs of the Conference is over the long haul of the season not a 3-4 day tourney. - Hopefully get things straightened out
-
@jayballer67 To take it one step further, we really have no one who has been consistent for some time now. Jalen is our closest, but he has had some rough games lately. Juan is superb when/if he is aggressive. I really believe that we can win every game before it starts. IF/when we play like there is no tomorrow, no team can stay with us. Not sure where the button to push is located, but sure hope Coach Self has it ready.

true I hope they can find it soon
-
@COHawk In the NCAA tournament, there is no tomorrow. It’s win or be done, unlike yesterday. I’m not worried. We got beat by a top 10 team in their own arena, on their senior night. They were amped, we were not. We will when it matters. Yesterday really didn’t matter. We should be the number 1 seed in the midwest. Being the overall #1 seed would be nice, but wouldn’t affect anything. We really didn’t have anything of substance to play for yesterday, and weren’t engaged. We will be engaged in the tourney.
-
@tundrahok I want to agree wholeheartedly with you, but we have not been engaged several times this year and got drilled. Several times it was only for a half and then we responded. Not a good formula to follow.
-
Well I see Joey Brackets in the updated Brackets he has us as the # 1 overall seed. Joey had this For KU to lose to Texas was less of a negative for consideration then Alabama losing against Texas A & M.
On top of that just listened to Clark Kellog & Seth Davis on CBS - -Both said when asked who the # 1 overall seed should be. BOTH said no doubt KU should be the overall # 1 - with our diligence of work we have done over the season - -hard to argue that KU shouldn’t be # 1
-
Hard for us to get inside vs texass. No 3’s. D not good enough!
