Just happy we won. 2 days from now we can make the season legendary
-
I want iowa state bad to beat a familiar punching bag
-
Do you want iowa state or miami?
-
Iowa St for sure but Miami looks to have awful defense
-
@BeddieKU23 but I just saw Miami made 2 treys in the last 4 processions. We don’t play well against teams that can score in spurts
-
@BeddieKU23 on other hand dont want tyrese hunter having a career shooting night against us.
-

ISU because the prep work and scouting is much easier and there’s already the familiarity which should make it a better scenario for KU to get back to the Final Four.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 thats a great point on the prep effort. Dont want to overlook them but 6 games against unfamiliar opps 5 of which are competitive is mentally exhausting

I mean they start Chuck Moore.
-
Worry more about chucky going off on us than enaruna
-
Chaaaalie playing like old chaaaalie
-
Awful ref crew in this game. Same guys?
-
Doug shirmons
-
Did all these isu guys play against us? 22?
-
Was just talking to my buddy who is an Auburn grad. Said Miami just outmuscled his team in their matchup. They play very physical apparently.
That’s the kind of team that usually sends us home. They punch and we stand there and take it.
That said, the Big 12 has us prepared this season. It’s always physical and no game is a gimme.
Proof? That 10-1 run we went on right after Providence battled back for a 1-point lead. No, we didn’t play well tonight as a whole but that right there was impressive.
-
@tis4tim Jalen Wilson!
-
We dont win without Jalen. He is the best compliment to Remy we have

This KU team gets in the mud.

Gotta make throws.

The wake up call was huge for JWill. He plays like a kid that didn’t always have a ride home in middle school now.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 this game was payback for that 19-20 vs the blue jays.
-
U guys remember 22?
-
@BShark feels like he has a chance to be a pretty nice career pro with his versatility. If he hones the 40% trey gun lookout League.
-
Guarantee you Juan didn’t always have a ride home. Gotta have tough guys. This is why Bill made Remy do things the right way too. Culture of toughness.
-
I say this as a kid that practically lived in after school and summer care programs for awhile!

What a nasty group. Someone said it didn’t matter, and then a person said shut up and die. Wow that just make me like this board even more.
Thanks for keeping it classy everyone!

@tis4tim Jalen Wilson!
Yeah that play toward the end where he was totally mugged going in for the score and still bullied the ball around the defender into the hoop was boss! Can’t believe it wasn’t an and-1.
I’ve been down on him this year in the early going but he’s been tough as nails throughout the last half of the season. His poker face still kills me. Like an assassin he rarely shows emotion when there’s a job that needs doing.

Yeah the Brauns pretty much adopted him for awhile. Dude is nails
-
Pretty sure this ref crew is worse then what did our game. And that’s saying something
-
@FarmerJayhawk I’ll always be his fan. He won’t miss his throws either.
-
@FarmerJayhawk seems pretty appreciative too! I’d like to hear his whole story.
-
Can we run offense with Dave as bad as he was tonight? What are the chances we run zero offense again for more than half the game on sunday?

Same! His senior speech is gonna be one with water works

-
@FarmerJayhawk he might not say anything
-
U think Ochs scoring has gone down since remys has gone up?
-
Hard to score when you just stand there in the corner doing nothing
-
It’s not cause he doesn’t want to, you know how hard he worked. Just not like him.
-
But he’s literally not doing anything like we saw all yr… Not seeking the ball. Not doing anything like och. A dunk, a jumper and fouled off a timeout play to get him to the rim. Up to och to change the narrative

There’s no place like Kansas. https://twitter.com/kuhoops/status/1507566108634714116?s=21&t=FLQ5dTcYN3QkJS4VrHCOiA

Start thinking about it. Its happening.
-
@BShark I’m glad you’re a better grown up kid for it! Better than growing up with a silver spoon in your mouth!

Yeah, weird. running offense seems to be a thing of the past in the tourney. Odd. I’m starting to think Self was intentionally holding back on letting Remy loose, saving him for the tourney. Maybe a new wrinkle that no other teams had on tape?
But a lot of our “real” or structured offense involves Ochai and Braun. I’m too dumb to know how, but other teams have figured out a way to shut them down offensively.
Self has to figure out how to get them involved. We desperately need to free up our best 3 pt shooters. Surely we can figure out how to set a few screens for them!
-
Hey guys. It’s been forever since I have posted so I had to create a new account as I forgot my password but here I am!
I was at the game last night and can honestly say it was one of the most difficult sporting events I have ever been a part of. When we gave up the 13 point lead and Providence went up 1 the entire crowd went completely nuts and that was predominantly ISU and Miami fans. ISU fans were living and dying with each shot. The Cyclones two rows in front of me couldn’t have been more fired up if they were watching their own team! I’m actually pretty pleased that we will see Miami based on this. We need all the advantages we can get and a home field advantage could go a long way and ISU fans more than doubled Miami alums.
-
Remy has been clutch in all three tourney games. I can’t recall a KU player being so clutch for three games in a row. Maybe Danny. Not comparing them, just saying, when we need offense, the dude has hit big shot after big shot.
-
@joeloveshawks1 thanks for the inside look!
-
Another thought… the assassin role has clearly moved from Ochai to Remy. Could there be another assassin in the team? JW? CB?
I feel like we still haven’t seen this team’s BEST game. There’s always been someone injured or someone with an off-night. If this team hit on all cylinders offensively… wow… because the D is there.

So, it’s not that Bill purposefully sandbagged Remy but it’s playing out kind of brilliantly for us. Teams are still face guarding and defending Ochai really aggressively while having a weaker defender on Remy.
Remy and JWill both have that attitude. The one where they can be 1-10 and they fully believe the next shot is going in. You need guys like that.
-
When CB was called for a charge early in the first half, I thought he would go into his offensive shell for the rest of the first half. Unfortunately, it continued in the second half. CB only took 6 shots in 36 minutes, and only 2 were 3s. But his 10 rebs was close to JWil’s 11, so he helped there. I sure hope CB and Ochai find their offense against Miami. Charlie is going to be all over Remy. As diificult as Friday’s game was to watch, KU should be able to find more open shots against Miami.
