Not fully yet, but getting there. Was just diagnosed yesterday. It really sucks not being able to be around the rest of the family on Christmas. How long have you had it? Did they tell you the variant? They didn’t tell me. Just said I was positive. And like a dummy I didn’t even ask.

Girlfriend gave it to me, and like myself she is fully vaccinated with the booster. We’ve been pretty careful. Really, we have no idea where we got it.

  • @Marco I did a home test, so I have no clue if its the variant. Tried to get the test at a testing site. But symptoms including taste bud loss made it seem obvious I have it. I’m on my 3rd day of it.

PCR tests don’t determine which variant of Covid you have, only if the virus is present or not.

  • Ugh, sorry about the covid woes for some of you. No fun. I must be a giant wimp…just got my booster shot the other night and it’s kicking my ass. Two days of 100+ fever, the shake rattle and rolls, headache, body aches, sweats, you name it. Sucks!

is he wanting to transfer out or what ?

  • @jayballer67 no, I’m saying he was a non-factor at Oklahoma, went to WF and is All-ACC. Interesting to me.

Ahh hell I didn’t even know he had played at Oklahoma lol

  • I’ll be dang if it isn’t starting to fall in place like I was afraid of. - -KU has now missed two games in a row because of the Covid , Vanderbilt & Stanfords game a Championship in a tourney was Canceled , Big East Cancelling games , SEC revising on how they are handling COVID games - - the ACC - - Duke just Cancelled their next two games because they are having COVID issues…

Other schools in the same boat. - - I’m just afraid we are starting to see a repeat of last year. True things have changed , I mean we have the shots now but still going to play havoc- -already is , Were going to find ourselves in a bunch of make up games – -we have league starting - -theyre just not going to blow those games off - -gonna have to be played sometime. They have said with this latest strain the Omicron - not nearly as dangerous maybe hospitalization wise Death wise - -this strain ALOT mor Contagious ALOT easier spread - just worried as you can see things growing - -keeping fingers crossed

  • @approxinfinity

Just didn’t gel last yr but was a highly touted Juco. Wake’s coach is a pretty good developer of talent

  • TTech about to make the SEC go 0-4 in bowl games.

  • And the Missouri women just knocked off #1 South Carolina by 1 in OT. Missouri made the winning shot with 0.1 left in the game.

  • UCF men take down Michigan by 14, A nice resume win for our future conference-mate.

very true. Plus you look at it not Basketball but our future conference team # 4 Cincinnati playing in the playoffs tomorrow night. - - good for them. Funny don’t ssee Oklahoma there - - Don’t see Texas there - -huh bodes well for the SEC

  • This dam COVID. 33 contests either Cancelled or postponed for today

  • Memphis just taking Wichita State to the wood shed & smacking that ass in Wichita at the half Memphis up 49 - - - -34

  • Texas beats WVU by 74-59.

Tristan Enaruna playing against Baylor right now.

The Hilton support back for sure - -really loud, trying to bring the Hilton Magic. Mabe turn out to be a good game

  • @jayballer67 Could be. Hilton is a tough place to play, although maybe a bit easier without students there.

ya it could be even harder with the team they got this year and students back. They have had some quality wins , but today is THE REAL TEST pretty competitive the first seven minutes

  • RANT. 4 Ohio State players quit on their team playing in the Rose Bowl today. They want to go get ready for the draft. What a bunch of entitled punks. Of course they’re not the only ones, many lesser bowl games have seen similar attrition. But coaches are guilty too. Abandon your team when they get hired away to coach someone else. They receive a quality 5 year education (if they take advantage of it), financed by program boosters, essentially who say I will donate money to the school to watch you for 4 years. Then at a game that is always a decent consolation prize for not making the playoff they quit. They should be asked to repay their scholarship. While a few role players will benefit by increased minutes maybe the worst part of this is them quitting on their teammates. NCAA needs to act on this scourge. Schools need to be proactive in preventing this happening by making them sign contracts to agree to finish a season.

  • Tristan playing solid for Iowa St today - - 10 points at the half. Iowa State just can’t get that one key stop to really put more pressure on Baylor. Down 8 at the half

  • Iowa State can JUST NOT get the key stop they need. keeps going from 8 - - to 6 - - -8 - - to 6. If they could get that stop put a little more pressure on Baylor. - Tristan doing really well 14 points

  • ISU is pretty damn good. Hanging with an elite Baylor team. If you told me right now they are better than KU I would listen.

  • Enaruna had a nice first half. We could have used him.

  • Enaruna 14, 6, 1, 1. Let the freshman play, Bill. Please

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich said in Non-KU Games:

Not what we needed this year and still wouldn’t have played (cuz Och, CB, JWill) but he is a nice player.

  • @BShark I just mean that players can be good if you let them play through their mistakes. They could even be better than Lightfoot 😲

RANT. Fans who expect players to risk their financial future to play in a meaningless game are the entitled ones. They should be risking millions of dollars and potential generational wealth for what exactly? You? The irony of calling young men who worked their ass off for the opportunity of the NFL entitled, just so you can sit your butt on a couch and yell at your TV for three hours, is hysterical.

I would take him over Wilson at least from what I’ve seen between the two this year

  • Kind of like what has been said. You let them play - -Tristan 10 minutes a game at KU - 2.0 ppg - -here he is today getting extended time and has now scored 23 - -had 19 the last time out

  • ISU is 1-12 from 3. Hard to beat Baylor with no 3-pt ball.

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich Whew do they defend though.

  • Brutal back to back sequence for ISU.

  • 1-14 from 3 and no students. Baylor doesn’t need any advantages.

  • @Kcmatt7 Because it’s all about the money. I’m pissed and sorry, but in this case i don’t agree with you. I’m not the only one by the way. Kirk Herbstreet was taking them to task on gameday as was Desmond Howard.

Meaningless game? I guess but for that matter, none of these games matter if a guy wants to go pro. The game today is meaningless. Ochai has a brightening future in the league so he shouldn’t play today because this game is meaningless. I can’t believe you’re a commenter here because none of these games have meaning if these guys are going pro.

If a guy really just wants to be a pro football player then he shouldn’t go to college. Work out, train, etc until someone takes a chance on you, but once you take someones money like these guys are doing to play a college sport then you owe it to the institution, fans, and teammates to play out through the the final game.

  • Jermaine Samuels is still at Nova?? Dude has been in college since the Carter administration

The only reason that bowl games still exist after the installation of the playoffs is money lol. The season should be over for everyone except for Alabama and Georgia at this point. The rest of the bowl games are pure vanity.

Yes, all of these games are essentially meaningless. They are semi-pro athletes who happen to play at schools we love. If Ochai decided that what was best for him was to leave KU to go work on being a pro then by all means he should. And I’d wish him well. It is his choice, not yours or mine. Every single one of these guys has a limited earning period to capitalize on their youth and athleticism. So to criticize someone for doing what they think is best for them in their situation is pretty silly. If a player wants to play, they should. If they don’t, then they shouldn’t. Good luck to schools who are recruiting and asking players to sign a contract that has them pay back the scholarship if they leave one game early.

And I’m a commenter here because I love KU and KU basketball. I’m not going to get my panties in a bunch over the life choices of a 21 year old.

  • @Kcmatt7 I guess it reveals a mindset difference. If you think chase the bucks, fine, then let them. Again, leading voices in the sport are saying the same thing, so don’t give me ‘panties in a wad’ crap. I suppose during our big chance in 2008 in a rare BCS bowl game you would have been fine if Reesing or Meier or Briscoe had quit. That’s a shame and it would have been a horrendous slap in the face of the faithful fans who had stuck by the team so many years.

  • @wissox It seems that you are inflaming your anger with "what-if"s that didn’t exist. 2008 didn’t happen that way. Our bb team isn’t doing that. So why get so exorcised about a fantasy disappointment?

Your rant is about 4 TOSU players cutting out of the Rose Bowl. I understand not liking that, but here’s something else to think about: With Omicron running amock, 4 bowls were cancelled. Hundreds of players lost their last chance to showcase their talents. Millions of dollars in tickets and concessions lost, vendors deprived of sales, sponsors blown out of exposure that was years in the planning… No one to blame, really, but a damn shame that few people even think about.

What, precisely, is lost because 4 guys don’t play? Do we know the team was butt-hurt? The game goes on. Four guys are prepping for a huge step in their careers. They miss the chance to be seen. The game goes on. Nothing else is threatened.

I love the irony of Desmond Howard criticizing them for disrespecting their teammates. He may have forgotten the flak his “Hesiman pose” received from people who thought he was showboating and disrespecting the team aspects of football. I didn’t care, myself. But arguably one of the most “me me me” moments in college fb history.

You literally got on here to rant. Almost the definition of having your panties wadded.

And my mindset isn’t to chase the money. It is that everyone should make their own decisions based on the information they have. You don’t know the situations that led players to make those decisions. Life is short and you shouldn’t feel that anyone owes you anything.

You can absolutely be disappointed if guys don’t play. But I’m definitely not going to be pissy about it because I am not in their shoes. I don’t know what making that decision is like. I don’t know their family or financial situation. We are talking about decisions involving generational wealth and life changing money for them AND those they love.

  • @mayjay Well I certainly know not to argue with a judge! But I’ll do it anyways 🙂 The comparison with games cancelled for Covid is much different in my view.

What’s lost? OSU is getting killed. Imagine being an OSU fan who paid a bunch of money, maybe money that was a splurge to attend this game and then having four guys who apparently are great players decide to skip the game? I’d be pissed. Maybe me and Kirk and Desmond are the only ones mad about it. IDK. But like I told Matt it reveals a mindset difference. Loyalty to a school that helped get you to the NFL dream? Apparently that means nothing to guys who again in my view are self centered. Much more so than a posing Desmond Howard in a moment many view as an iconic moment in the games history.

  • Just saw the score. My reaction might be tinged by having attended Michigan…

  • This post is deleted!

  • Is it a breach of contract? You sign a LOI to lace em up for whomever and they give you 5 years of education in exchange for playing for them. Then you tell them, sorry, I don’t want to play for you anymore, even when it’s a big game.

@Crimsonorblue22 Simmons played his full season. I really don’t see why he’s evidence that I’m wrong. Breece Hall, another piece of evidence. I understand loyalty is no big deal.

@Kcmatt7 How am I risking their financial futures? I know injuries happen, but then why play any games? I really don’t get the push back on this. But somehow I’ve become the bad guy for suggesting a player should honor the commitment that people made to him and helped him get to the point that after today, they can go and chase their NFL dreams?

  • @wissox to me the mindset difference you are highlighting is which subset of people do you care about the most? You seem to favor the feelings and emotions of the fans. Those arguing against you are giving priority to the thoughts, feelings, and decisions of the players.

For me, you may very well be right that fans, commentators, donors, etc are upset by those young mens decisions. The players may have in fact just negatively impacted their future careers because there are undoubtedly people who think the same as you in positions of power in their futures.

BUT especially with football where every game has a negative impact on your future health, I’m going to in the end always fall on the side of the players. They are the ones risking their bodies, their futures, their careers with every decision they make on and off the field. If they are doing what they think is best than more power to them.
