Some of these guys I understand, Yesufu and Enaruna, Muscadin and Jossell for example, and maybe McClung (though I realize that he took his name out of the portal) due to the coaching change, but alot of the others just leave me scratching my head. It is like they are transferring just to transfer, because they can.

Portal about to hit 1450, seems like it will easily hit 1500 before end of April…

Ethan Chargois, 6’9 F from SMU goes to Oklahoma. Avg 8 & 5 with 2.5 ast pg. 120 made 3’s in 4 years as well.
The Big-12 as a whole has signed 27 transfers so far. Gonna be a whole lot of new faces

I wonder if any agents or other advisors have told kids that they might improve their pro chances if they have another coach who might focus on a different part of their game. Or whose offense or defense is different enough that learning it will broaden their training. I remember when the Syracuse zone was considered by some to stunt some players pro chances because they had seldom played m2m in college. (Back when the NBA actually allowed no zone.)
I can see players thinking variety might be good. On the other hand, switching before you have actually learned anything from your first coach, much less mastered it, wouldn’t serve that purpose.
I also wonder how many of these transfers are occurring without campus visits (informal, if any). I can’t imagine switching with no idea what a school is like.

Believe that all transfers to date have been without being able to visit their new school

Some of these other guys I can see playing those games with, but not a guy who’s been good at the B12 level with 3 years of eligibility left.

Apparently OU people think Harmon ends up at Texas. I agree he is good enough to take now.
@FarmerJayhawk Have you heard anything on Akinjo? Saw someone mention him as a possibility but haven’t seen much out there on him.

Hmm, never heard of a Zoom call going bad but if Harmon wants to play PG at his destination, are we sure it could be KU?
I guess if Harris is the PG, Cuffe is here to redshirt and Yesufu/Pettiford are your 2nd PG/SG on the floor then I guess you could convince him he might have a starting PG spot here.

@BeddieKU23 It seems like, to me, that Bill wants another starter with all the guys he is targeting. As things are right now I heard they are hoping Bobby can push for the spot. I don’t think Bill wants to start Harris but I could be wrong.

@Oldmanhawk I believe all but Bryce were nudged out. Though it was interesting to see Tristan end up at ISU. They do need guys pretty badly.
We saw Tyon go down (not as far as Jossell but still down) and I image Gethro ends up at a lower level as well. Gethro intrigued me but the reality was Bill wouldn’t even play him over Mitch when we had no one else.

Good player, but 5’10, 22.5% from 3, and 4.4 turnovers per game is not something I really want at KU.

He regressed last year, I blame Crean. Not super interested either tbh which means we probably end up with him.

One to keep on the back burner… Arizona St’s Marcus Bagley transferring. Also in the draft. Was a Top 30 kid in HS and looked the part. Had injuries derail his season plus its Hurley. Would be exactly what this team needs at the wing if Ochai didn’t return

@BeddieKU23 would bet a lot of money he stays swoosh. But I would be drop bags, shoe boxes, and presents down the chimney to land him.
Have to think his circle is telling him to return and bust his ass and get into the lottery… KU would be the place to do it.
