The Billy Eugene DGAF Tour continues apace
-
The mail HAS ARRIVED.- - One thing people are not going to be able to say about this yearās team is - - -we have no depth.
We have nice depth throughout this team- - - At the five - -we have Hunter , Flory , & Zach - ā At the one we have Harris- - -Moore - -& if needed sounds like Mayo could play some - ā at the four you have I think KJ , and possibly , again possibly some Zach - - -at the two you have what? - ā Griffin ? & others right ? - -at the three you have Storr & others - -w have quality depth none of this 6-7 deep, One year of that is enough.
Another Great Job Coach Self- - -ROCK CHALK

This kid was committed to Texas A&M like 11 days ago. Crazy

Would we all agree we have the best roster in college bball this season?
If not, who would you say has a better roster?
-
@kuballin10 I will not jump on that train until I see them play defense. We got a lot of scorers and HOPEFULLY Bill can coach them up on D. But Gonzaga spamming the same pick and roll play 10 times in a row and getting either a wide open lay up or 3 EVERY time still haunts me. Harris, Hunter and the new guys GOTTA step it up on D to make sure they can guard the most simple of actions.
-
@kuballin10 I am very glad we got a roster you approve of. Similar to if USMNT gets Pochettino i will have extremely little wiggle room to bitch if it goes south. But i am assuming that both of us will find creative loopholes

Projection wise Houston, Duke, Iowa State, Tennessee, UNC, Auburn, Bama and Gonzaga are in the same ballpark. I actually donāt like UNCās roster at all though. Bama is intriguing, Iād probably trade rosters with them with everything else being equal (we know it isnāt).
@approxinfinity I eagerly await the first moment we are trailing this season.
-
@BShark what about Arkansas?
-
@approxinfinity Iām not sure if we do but if you think we do and we have the best coach in the game it should be a shoe in title!
Iām not really up on other teams right now so once I get to watch some non con we will see whoās got the best roster
I think we do but not 100% sold. If we do have the best Bill better deliver

Kstate has a better roster than Arkansas!
-
@BShark I finally checked calās roster and he has dj wagner and pulled johnell davis. Thatās gotta be the best backcourt in America right?
Also, why on earth did Ballo leave Arizona for Indiana???
All sorts of transfers this off-season I donāt understand

Davis is nasty but Wagner does not impress me. I would take Iowa Stateās back court over Arkansas, and others as well.

Money.

Can definitely understand it for Ballo, his game is not likely to stick in the NBA and so wants to maximize his earning now. Similar to Hunter leaving Michigan, though Ballo didnāt have the same level of offers from contenders
-
Wagner stinks and is living off HS hype
-
@BShark are any isu bb players in on the betting scandal? I heard they were.

Good solid bench piece. Entered the portal shortly after Brown played KU. Has been out injured this year (shoulder). One to monitor.

He can? Compared to KJ, he can shoot 3ās, but heās a career 27% from 3 with a season best of 31%. Thatās against some of the weakest D1 competition out there so I doubt heād even shoot those numbers at KU.
That said, I do believe he would be a solid bench piece as someone that can come in and get to the FT line. Itād also be nice to see his FT% increase though as heās a career 65% from the FT line.
-
Even the low % numbers from 3 are better then zero which is what KJ has offered for 4 years. The kid has tape of him taking 3s open and off the catch so thereās some perimeter skill there. Iām not saying heās our starting 4 and Iām certainly not penciling him for anything but it does look like the staff will be priorizing KJās replacement in the portal and will hopefully be looking for players that have more offensive versatility
-
The rise in competition is definitely the biggest hurdle for him. Just a few games last year against good competition. He did go for 13 and 11 against USC and 15 and 9 against Providence.
Has been out with a torn labrum all year. Not great.
Officially visits Tuesday. A good backup option at the 4 perhaps

Iām not saying heās doesnāt take those shots, Iām saying opposing B12 coaches wonāt respect that part of his game because his best 3 point season is only 31% and he wonāt duplicate that stepping up to B12 competition.
As a back up, he seems serviceable, but if youāre looking at roster construction for next year, itās hard to see him amd Tiller complimenting each other on offense very well.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Good thing our guys are always solid free throw shooters
Good thing our guys excel at getting to the line and transfers in always improve once here at getting to the line more
Good thing that dolla bill will let him have freedom to try that top of the key trey ball to open up the offense without quick hooking him
