Yea, that’s been around a few days. Saves the Chiefs $12 million on the cap. That’s not a bad thing.

I like that a lot! More QBs taken in Round 1 means better options for the Chiefs later on!
-
Looks like the Chiefs put the non exclusive tag on CB Sneed. I like that. They can match any offers if they like, or receive a few first round picks in return if he signs elsewhere and they let him go.
-
Looks like Allegretti will move on.
-
Sure is talking like he wants to start somewhere @Gorilla72 .
-
Russell Wilson got cut by Denver. Who will pick him, basically at no cost as Denver is on hook for his salary?
Steelers could be a good fit.
-
@AsadZ Many experts keep saying Russ will play for a million bucks. I don’t think he will. His career is nearing the end and he can double dip this year. Maybe he signs a cheap 15 mil one year deal, but I would be surprised if he takes the league minimum.
80 million in dead money for Denver. Wow. Russ played half way decent last year. Sean Peyton must absolutely hate Russel Wilson, this isn’t just a football move.
-
I’m actually kinda of excited for my Packers this upcoming season. Jordon Love progressed quite nicely from about the middle of the Season to the end, Ended up making the playoffs, got a win against the Cowboys so things looking up. As much as I like Aaron glad to done with the drama, the Packers have an exciting young deep group of receivers, young QB and oh ya Aaron Jones.
Actually looking forward to the Season, things might not be as bad as us Pack fans had thought, might be interesting
-
There goes the Mike Evans pipe dream. Back with the Bucs.
-
Need Chris Jones to come to an agreement (or not) so Veach can move unencumbered in free agency (assuming he has a trade partner for Sneed). Cap space as is, is very tight and they still have key free agents - Gay, Tranquil, Danna, Jones! unsigned. The first shoe dropped with the tag on Sneed. Hope that signals a deal with Jones is eminent.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk $56M, 2 year deal. He got paid.
-
@AsadZ Where do you get your info? Can’t find it anywhere!

Our KMart budget didn’t match his Lamborghini price tag!
-
@mayjay I saw it on ESPN. If you search online you will see it
-
@AsadZ I thought you were replying to Dylans about Chris Jones… Oh. Phooey.
I just got done reading about Evans’ contract being exaggerated. This is from Mike Florio at NBC:
***It’s officially #OverstatedContractValue season.
It happens every year. Agents do new contracts. They text the basic details to a small group of reporters. The reporters engage in a thumb race to X, communicating the numbers as gospel.
Within a day or two, the truth puts its pants on.
This year, it started with Bucs receiver Mike Evans. Two years, $52 million! $35 million guaranteed!
It’s actually, we’re told, a two-year, $41 million deal. The other $11 million comes in the form of incentives and escalators.
The deal pays out $23 million fully guaranteed in 2024. He’s due to make $18 million in 2025. Of that amount, $6 million is fully guaranteed and $6 million is guaranteed for injury.
So it’s a $20.5 million deal, not a $26 million contract. And it has $29 million fully guaranteed at signing.
It’s not bad for a guy with 10 years of NFL wear and tear. But it’s not what they told you it was on Monday.***

- I am wrong. Russ will likely play for 1.2mil next year. Any money another team pays Wilson comes off the money Denver owes him. Just as well let Denver eat it all.
-
@dylans Too bad he wants to start. I’d rather have him as a backup than Gabbert.
-
@dylans He definitely wasn’t the leader that Denver needed, especially in the ways that Sean Peyton needs. He also wasn’t the only issue that Denver had. Seems as if there were too many players who put themselves first over team.
-
Sean Payton looks pretty bad throwing Hackett under the bus the way he did. Now he’s cussing his QB out on the sideline and s-cans him in less than a year. I’m beginning to think Drew Brees made Payton look better at coaching than he would’ve looked elsewhere.
-
@mayjay I wish that’s the way they paid public school teachers!
-
Report is out that Chiefs are signing D Tranquil, 3 yrs $19M, 13M guaranteed.
This is a good move to lock in one of key players.
-
Signing Chris Jones 5 yrs.
-
Yes!
-
@mayjay $95M guaranteed, about $32M per year, Wow
-
Denver traded Judey to Browns, I was not expecting this one.

I haven’t seen the implications yet. Hope it’s not a cap crusher deal! Five years is a loooong time. Wow. But I’m very happy he’s locked in. Who’s next?
-
Patriots traded Jones to Jags for 6th rounder.
With 3rd pick they will now definitely select QB.
-
Mayfield getting 3 years $100M from Bucks.
-
Wow, sounds like the Jones contract is extremely cap friendly. $6M per year or so?
-
@rockchalkjayhawk 7.4mil in year one. 35 mil in year 2, 41 million in year 3. 12 million in dead cap if he’s cut after year 3. 30 million signing bonus is spread over all 5 years evenly and his salary varies from year to year. 31.8million average per year.
Forgive me if I’m off a little I’m going off the top of my head. I’ll post a link if I can find it.
-
Dorrance Armstrong sings with the Commanders. Three years for 45.
-
As I guess expected it’s pretty quiet on the Chiefs FA front. Probably no big names coming our way? I do expect some lesser signings at some point. Cmon WR! Ha.
Actually, O line likely a point of emphasis, huh.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk Veach doesn’t like to have glaring needs going into the draft, but the cap it pretty tight. Need to trade or sign Sneed and that would clarify the salary cap situation. There is about 30 million in wiggle room in Mahomes contract by converting salary to a roster bonus or some nonsense that spreads the cap hit out over multiple years. You eventually have to account for it though.
-
It appears that Justin Fields with remain with Bears.
Most teams tied to him, have already selected their quarterback.
This may end up being a good move for bears, create battle and competition for number one spot.
-
Willie Gay out the door. Bummer.
WR option Mooney sign elsewhere, too.
-
Hollywood
-
So jacked to get Keenan Allen. All the sudden that’s a heck of a supporting cast for (likely) Caleb Williams.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Gotta wonder if the Chargers are snake bit or if it’s the players. Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are both studs, but always seemed injured, same on the defensive side of the ball.
At least one injury I can 100% pin on the staff is giving their starting quarterback an injection that accidentally punctured his lung and prematurely ended Tyrod’s time in LA.
-
I think Houston @Texas-Hawk-10 and Philly have improved most this year by their FA signings and moves.
-
@dylans it’s wild. Something always seems to go horribly wrong with them going back to the Marty days
-
Fields to Pittsburgh for a conditional 2025 pick. Caleb come on down!
-
Personally I think Bears should have kept him to create competition, no matter how talented it’s not easy for rookie Quarterbacks to excel in rookie year. Mahomes sat and learned from Alex Smith in his rookie year.
-

Crazy that the best they could get for Fields is a 4th round pick…if he plays 51% of the snaps. Fields is the projected backup to the “entrenched” Russel Wilson.
-
@dylans I think Bears made a mistake here but lets see.
-
I think it’s the right move. As a Bears fan, it’s been awful watching Fields take sack after sack and make all the wrong plays late in games. Something like half of his total turnovers are in the 4th quarter.
-
@dylans That wasn’t their best offer and taking the best offer wasn’t the goal. They were trying to get Fields into the best situation for him and sitting a year behind Wilson in Pittsburgh is what was determined to be best for Fields.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 If that’s the case then my hats off to Bears brass
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 If you believe the PR machine. Fields has proven to be a bad qb and it seems the market reflects it.
