Looks like KU was given a 3 yr probation, according to SI.com. Nothing further against the coaches, no loss of wins.

Am i confused how we could be penalized for a player whom the NCAA cleared to play? most definitely.
Was/Is Bill Self in the dark about any and all? Highly unlikely.
Do I care? Probably not. Just the way of doing business pre NIL days.

@mayjay totally different situations. Memphis knew Rose had a very sketchy test score and decided to play him anyway.

@mayjay it was very shady. Difference being KU held Silvio out until the NCAA cleared him (ditto Billy Preston). Memphis knew at minimum the whole thing was sketch and under investigation, yet played Rose anyway.

Yea, that sums it up for me. I don’t recall the Rose situation in great detail anymore. Nor the Silvio signing details. But, holding Silvio out seemed by the book on the surface. The rest of it is sketchy as hell.
