@BShark 6’4” Guard is all I know. Would he be a practice body or a viable player? KS high school basketball is not good so it’s hard to evaluate players. Clearly the staff sees something or they wouldn’t bother.

That’s what I was saying earlier. I live here in Topeka, Highland Park not that far. He is decent player, but if your looking for a WOW - - not happening. Not right now anyways, he transferred out to a different school/place maybe help he at this point would maybe be a 5-7 minute back up while others rest. Like you said he didn’t face the toughest competition here in Kansas, - -not a lot of goof ball here in Kansas, not the stiffest competition. - -Don’t expect a lot if your looking for a game change. He is no better then say Chris Johnson that’s for sure, and we see where that ended up
Remembre back though , there WAS ONE Topeka kid that played at Ku and did well. - -Name of Mark Turgeon lol, walking into Coach’s office and said I’m the BEST point guard you got.- - they offered him and turned out pretty good lol
-
There will be a couple grad transfers pop up in the coming weeks I would think.

What School was he transferring in from? I can see why not to many words

Quick search: Former coach says he’s bouncy!
Looks like he needs to get stronger, but we like 6-4 guys who can play D and shoot, right?
Most of his highlights seem to be work out vids of him dunking.
-
Solid PWO
-
Ahh. no scholly. Even better.
-
Good. Need practice bodies

KState is getting Kaluma

Wow. A bit of a surprise. To me at least.

Is this highly speculated or a lock? Going to visit Bama next week isn’t he?

It was just announced shortly after my post here.
He wanted to star and play the 3.

@BShark Good get for KSU. There is some untapped potential from him for sure. KSU should be a top half of the league team between Perry/Tomlin/Kaluma. Not sure that Perry and Kaluma are as good as Nowell and Johnson. But Tang clearly can convince some of the top talent that comes available to consider KSU.
-
There is so much smoke with Kentucky and Cal parting ways after this season… Have to imagine anything short of a FF run could mean the end of an era.
-
The purple teams have certainly made some good moves.

Yeah I had them bottom 4 before Kaluma. This moves them up somewhere more in the middle I suspect. The league will be pretty tough.
I’d say this pair is a clear downgrade from Key and Nowell but we’ll see.

Vern bomb incoming I fear. Though there are some concerns.
-
-
@BShark like not being eligible until January
-
-
If you get a half a season of Jordan Brown vs not filling a Scholly give me Jordan Brown on this team please.
-
Bill could do something with Brown.
-
@BShark how many years he have left?
Think he’s okay coming off the bench? Braun getting recruited over already.
McDowell might make some waves……
-
@Kcmatt7 no question. I watch a fair bit of Louisiana sports and he’s good. Not a world beater but he’s pretty skilled around the bucket and moves a little better than you’d think given he’s thicc, as they say
-
@kuballin10 just one, his 6th(!) in college. I think McDowell’s ceiling is JR Giddens without being stabby

Agreed and we have a scholarship or two to burn why not do it.
-
Haha the stabby part being an important distinction

He could practice all year, right? Need another big body for Hunter to bang against at the very least.
-
@benshawks08 I don’t get him coming here to just practice and never play or only play 1/2 semester. Feels like he’d go to where he could start
-
@kuballin10 My pitch would be, if you can’t play 1st semester, you probably aren’t going to start anywhere so might as well compete against the best in practice to get ready to be a big time contributor when it counts (Jan-April). Self has shown that bench players can have a SIGNIFICANT role on a team and that if the team is successful, the pie is big enough for everyone. It’s not about who starts, but rather, who closes.
-
Is the Jordan Brown smoke even real?

I believe we are backing off. Thought about making a play there but too many concerns.
-
I just don’t feel like it makes sense. Can’t imagine he takes a role as a backup.
Would be a good get for UK tbh. Veteran at practice but you can get the young guys experience early. If they don’t develop you’ve got an answer ready at semester.
-
Hard pass on guys that have already been to half a dozen schools!
-
Antonio Reeves, color me intrigued.

Been sitting on this one for a bit but yes. Strong possibility. Going after Jaylen Forbes as well. The push for a rotation or even starting caliber wing here is interesting.

Lots of McCullar at the 4 methinks
-
JCL was one of them dudes but I do generally agree here
-
Sorry guys, didn’t really know where to put this , just found it interesting : - Read that only ONE out of the top 17 Scorers from the Big Twelve last year will be back for this Season and that is LJ Cryer who is now at Houston , should be interesting to see who steps forward
-
I think now there’s a small chance we end up at 12 ¯_(ツ)_/¯
-
@FarmerJayhawk lol what!!! We gonna get 2 more guys that are okay with minimal roles???
KJ at the 4 must already be evident it won’t work.
That or some guys aren’t impressing as much.
-
Always good to have options when the chips are in
-
@kuballin10 - Remember he said “small chance”.
-
@kuballin10 it’ll take some convincing on both sides but I’m not ruling out another big and starter caliber wing
-
@FarmerJayhawk okay let’s play that game.
Say we get Reeves……how does that not mess things up with Timberlake or Morris.
Who would you say starts in that scenario?
-
@kuballin10 Juan Reeves Kev KJ Hunter. But if it were me I’d go small with Juan Morris Reeves McCullar Hunter
