Other than LSU, none of those are bad losses - although losses all the same. SEC was very strong yesterday - 4 -1. We aren’t nearly as rangy and athletic, but we are better if we play well. So, need to defend, take care of the ball, and make some shots. Hopefully, experience wins out…

This is maybe the simplest game for us to call moving forward.
We play really tough defense - WIN!
We don’t play tough defense and let them run their stuff - LOSE!
This is our game to win or lose. I don’t care how psyched up they come into this game. It’s ours to win or lose.

“Arkansas full of NBA…” We are too. You simply don’t win as many games as we have without having elite level athleticism. Our team knows how to win. Arkansas is a program on the uptick I think so I don’t want to appear overconfident but winning the Big 12 means we’ve prevailed in a league full of NBA talent and athleticism.
I think it will be a typical close match, but our experience and our coach will push us through to the sweet 16.

Agree it comes down to whether or not we can lock in on d and play with good energy.
Watching Arkansas play yesterday o honestly didn’t see them run a ton of stuff. Reminded me a bit of Baylor but without the shooters. If we can lock up Baylor the way we did in that second half we will destroy Arkansas. Even if we don’t play THAT well, they don’t have the shooters to just blow us out. It could be a grinder for sure though. Their length and quickness will make it tough for us to score.

Clean up the turnovers and we’re fine.
Kevin looks 100% and should make life tough for Ricky Council. Juan should force Black to work hard.
They don’t pass the ball. They aren’t great shooters. I feel good as long as Juan can settle down a bit.

No disrespect to the Rbacks, every team who makes it past the first game has proven worthy, but only one of these teams lost 14 games, was not in ranked in the AP poll, is listed as a 5 pt underdog, and has no players with FF experience, and it ain’t us.
Anything can happen, and it should be a grinder, but I like our chances.

I hope Gradey stays turned up. If he does… we have an extra weapon. Not just his outside shooting, but his rebounding, which includes several on the offensive side. Now just get KJ to pay attention to Gradey! lol

Their size is worrisome for sure but we have been undersized all season. Same keys for every game in March, bring energy, defend to make them play bad, hit shots and rebound.

Heard Coach Norm say tday Arkansas has SIX players with over 7 foot wing spans - those are the kinds that give us trouble- -athletic and long. Norm said they had a couple that would be playing in the NBA.

Sounds like they will do what Texas has the last two games and what tcu did which is don’t let Juan initiate and run the offense.
I don’t have a good feeling about this game

We split with TCU and Texas, it’s amazing that people forget we dominated them (Texas) most of the game at AFH. Tennessee and the third Texas Game were the third game in three days, both of which ended against really good teams. Different than what is happening tomorrow. Keep in mind Texas is a much better and more experienced team than Arkansas.
Nut up, grow a pair and let’s roll out there and see what happens.

Yes, we have our hands full. Jason Tatum can really ball. Jaylen Brown can score from anywhere, and Marcus Smart can really lock down on defense. I know it’s going to be tough to beat the Celtics, but we do have a better coach, and Jalen.

I know I’m negative but not sure how people can’t see this one.
They look at Arkansas record yet they’ve had injuries and are now fully healthy. They have 4 nba guys and 2 probably in the top 10.

@kuballin10 I agree that Arkansas is much more athletic and taller than us. It will take one of our best games of the season to win and without coach Self on the sideline it’s a tall task. I see the game going one of two ways, we win a close battle or we get blown out by 15 points.

This is it… spot on!
Let’s not forget… we have the best tournament experience and guys who know it’s a 40 minute game.
I hope we hang tight with them early because they will be trying to get out of the blocks quickly.
If we are within 10 at half… look at our statistics. We win! Second half tends to be when we settle in and focus on the finish line.
Anything is possible in this game, including us beating down Arkansas badly. If we can challenge their confidence I can see them psychologically collapsing in this game. This would be a good game for us to focus heavily on drawing charges. The advantage is clearly with the defense. These guys are going to be trying to get their shoulders ahead of the defense… someone like Kevin drawing charges from the weakside is hugeeeeee! Getting into foul trouble can be a big equalizer against athleticism. Arkansas isn’t basketball sophisticated at all. Beat them with intelligence and composure! Kevin will need his best game and I expect he will be 100% ready for this game!

Like you said…we’re playing the Celtics. They’re unbeatable. They might even be better than Purdew. And when we play UCONN? That’s like playing Phi Slamma Jamma and Patrick Ewing Georgetown all at once.

Arkansas doesn’t have a huge size advantage. The Mitchell twins are it as far as a size advantage goes and Udeh matches well with their size so we might see him get some extra minutes today.
Arkansas is also a team that doesn’t have a ton of experience and experience matters in the transfer portal era. That lack of experience has led to a lot of inconsistent play and are still only 4-6 in their last 10 games.
