Arkansas….

  • So if we run we’re screwed because they’re more athletic and if we play half court we’re screwed because Juan can’t initiate? Well damn. Guess we ought to just fly home

  • @FarmerJayhawk Juan Juan Juan Juan!

LMAO - - -oh no were screwed lol

No it’s okay I’ll pay one of the officials. Maybe two just to be extra safe.

  • Guess we just need to tell Juan to go on home - -cause nothin he can do - just get sped up. - -Tell coach - - PACK IT UP

  • Anybody look at their box score? We should beat them!

  • @FarmerJayhawk I never said don’t run I just was referencing what Jethro posted which was Jordan Walsh saying they are gonna pressure us all game

  • @Crimsonorblue22 most important player you bet I mention him!

Jalen can ball out, Kevin, Gradey and KJ but if Juan has 5 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 turnovers we will lose. Providence Juan doesn’t get it done. Nova Juan has us to the sweet 16 in a 6 point nail biter

  • @kuballin10 homie I wasn’t responding to you, chill. I was talking about the prevailing attitude in KU fandom

  • We lost to ten, tcu, texas twice

    All long, athletic teams

That’s exactly what Arkansas is and Jordan Walsh has arms to his ankles dude is gonna play d and they will run

Nick smith is legit and Ricky council is twice as athletic as Kevin or Jalen

I’m not sure if people here understand how tough this game will be

  • @FarmerJayhawk I’m chill we’ll maybe not because of the game tomorrow

  • @FarmerJayhawk said in Arkansas….:

Yep, better message the AD on Twitter or something, let him know they can save money by just coming home now since Arkansas is onto our game plan 🤣.

I swear, some fans are the biggest wussies. We may win, we may lose, but we have just as good of shot as any. Like Andy Reid said, we’re still going to go out there and play the game.

  • @kuballin10 have a brewski! Enjoy the quad box. Nothing we can do except idle chatter. Over the years I’ve mellowed out quite a bit on this stuff. I don’t get nerves until the day of or later now.

  • We split with TCU and Texas, it’s amazing that people forget we dominated them (Texas) most of the game at AFH. Tennessee and the third Texas Game were the third game in three days, both of which ended against really good teams. Different than what is happening tomorrow. Keep in mind Texas is a much better and more experienced team than Arkansas.

Nut up, grow a pair and let’s roll out there and see what happens.

  • Doesn’t matter who we play. It only matters how. Intense d and energized play all around we beat anyone in the nation. The secret to winning any game for this team is energy

This guy must’ve stayed at a Holiday Day Inn Express last night. Great post sir

  • @kuballin10 said in Arkansas….:

@Jethro this is not good. Arkansas has done their homework. Juan can be sped up and weak with the ball turning it over.

Sounds like they will do what Texas has the last two games and what tcu did which is don’t let Juan initiate and run the offense.

I don’t have a good feeling about this game

Yes, we have our hands full. Jason Tatum can really ball. Jaylen Brown can score from anywhere, and Marcus Smart can really lock down on defense. I know it’s going to be tough to beat the Celtics, but we do have a better coach, and Jalen.

  • CS officially out for today

  • @Jethro Self’s out so his in game timeouts and substitutions won’t be identical to Norm’s.

I know I’m negative but not sure how people can’t see this one.

They look at Arkansas record yet they’ve had injuries and are now fully healthy. They have 4 nba guys and 2 probably in the top 10.

  • @kuballin10 I agree that Arkansas is much more athletic and taller than us. It will take one of our best games of the season to win and without coach Self on the sideline it’s a tall task. I see the game going one of two ways, we win a close battle or we get blown out by 15 points.

    This is it… spot on!

Let’s not forget… we have the best tournament experience and guys who know it’s a 40 minute game.

I hope we hang tight with them early because they will be trying to get out of the blocks quickly.

If we are within 10 at half… look at our statistics. We win! Second half tends to be when we settle in and focus on the finish line.

Anything is possible in this game, including us beating down Arkansas badly. If we can challenge their confidence I can see them psychologically collapsing in this game. This would be a good game for us to focus heavily on drawing charges. The advantage is clearly with the defense. These guys are going to be trying to get their shoulders ahead of the defense… someone like Kevin drawing charges from the weakside is hugeeeeee! Getting into foul trouble can be a big equalizer against athleticism. Arkansas isn’t basketball sophisticated at all. Beat them with intelligence and composure! Kevin will need his best game and I expect he will be 100% ready for this game!

Like you said…we’re playing the Celtics. They’re unbeatable. They might even be better than Purdew. And when we play UCONN? That’s like playing Phi Slamma Jamma and Patrick Ewing Georgetown all at once.

  • @Jethro said in Arkansas….:

They might even be better than Purdew.

    Purdone!

Arkansas doesn’t have a huge size advantage. The Mitchell twins are it as far as a size advantage goes and Udeh matches well with their size so we might see him get some extra minutes today.

Arkansas is also a team that doesn’t have a ton of experience and experience matters in the transfer portal era. That lack of experience has led to a lot of inconsistent play and are still only 4-6 in their last 10 games.

  • @kuballin10 No need for negative energy. What’s the worst that happens? Kansas loses and life goes on? Don’t worry about the mules, just load the wagon.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I don’t disagree with you but I think some need to temper their expectations. We are not gonna spank the pants off this team and win by 30. I think it will look at lot like last years Creighton game. We will know here in a few hours.

  • @kjayhawks I don’t think anyone on any KU site is stating we’ll blow them out

  • @Crimsonorblue22 bliss? Nj

  • Question I’ve been pondering: Would anyone here trade places with Arkansas right now? Obviously we’d rather be in the sweet 16 than not but honestly trade places with them for the whole season. Like our team lost 14 games, has some NBA talent and athletic at the other positions. Played some undisciplined ball but tried real hard especially in the tournament. Came in as an 8 seed. Will be underdogs in the tournament pretty much the rest of the way. Etc.

I’d still take our year even with the early exit but that’s just me. What do y’all think?

  • @benshawks08 No, but I do wish Arkansas was still part of our league. They fit the Big8/12 mold more than other SEC teams because they appreciate basketball and are, when they’re good, really pretty good fans of the game.

  • @benshawks08 I don’t think you base that off of the first weekend in March. Now if they make the final four? Would absolutely change seasons with them. If they lose to UConn I’d rather have our season. I think it should also be noted they were unhealthy for a fair chunk of the season. They are probably 3 or 4 type of club if they have a healthy roster all season. I like winning the conference but really don’t care too much in reality because everyone will judge the season on March right or wrong.
