After a murders row (sarcasm font) of 6 opponents in the 2022 (upset induced I understand), we have little room to complain about the west. We also had 7 losses, a mindblowing number of losses for a #1 seed in my opinion. I get the quad 1 wins and all that. We still lost 7 times.
If we played in the B10, we might’ve been undefeated.

Don’t like it either. When Bill was sent into the hospital, there was exactly one other fanbase that went out of their way to say I hope he’s ok- we’re praying for him. And it was UNC. I think their fans deserve a better product, and to build some momentum for next year by competing in the NIT. Bad choice, imo.

Yes… while we quibble over our bracket UNC looks ridiculous and arrogant.
What a difference a year makes!
I complain sometimes but I am so grateful we have Self, staff, AD, and the university that knows what it’s doing!
I’ve always considered UNC our “sister school”… I had a little beef over Roy not recruiting east, but otherwise… a high amount of respect… especially for Coach Dean Smith.
I think they are struggling with expectations and results right now. I’d hate to be in their shoes. They were all pretty certain they would return to the FF and have a better result this year.
But sometimes it is important to show humility in life. This is the time for UNC to be humble and sit on their egos.

They went undefeated in the non-conference, but they only beat two teams that made the NCAA tournament in non-conference and only have 6 wins over tournament teams total and were 6-6 overall against tournament teams. I’m not even convinced UConn makes the Sweet 16 as they have to start against Rick Pitino who is still one of two active coaches with multiple national titles and he has time to prepare a game plan against UConn. Iona is going to give UConn all kinds of problems. UConn will probably get St. Mary’s in the round of 32 and that’s a team that can beat UConn as well as Logan Johnson and Kyle Bowen will cause UConn’s backcourt issues.
I just looked at UConn’s schedule and they’ve got some nice wins in there, ISU on Nov. 27 which I assume was some island tournament or something, Marquette (whom Wisconsin also beat in Milwaukee), and most impressively Bama. Hard to figure out how to judge thanksgiving vacation tournament wins of which Bama is one as well. But they also lost to Seton Hall whom we destroyed.

Absolutely! But the coaching on up should support an NIT spot. Maybe the truth is they didn’t like their chances in the NIT. Then a bad season becomes a worse season!

@wissox I’m not saying that UConn is a bad team, but I do think they’re being massively overhyped by ESPN. 6-6 against fellow tournament teams isn’t great and their lack of a PG was a big reason why they were average against other top teams.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I learned my lesson when I decided to look up Northern Iowa’s schedule and decided there’s no way in Ache EEEE double hockeysticks we’re going to lose to that team! I remember thinking they were way overseeded to be an 8. I learned my lesson.

@Jethro Yeah the league was down some, but some might say the #12 team in the league lost by 1 on a controversial call to the defending national champ! So maybe KU wouldn’t have gone undefeated in the 10.

@BeddieKU23 It’s interesting to speculate. As much as I rip on the SEC, we obviously struggled with Tenny and a road match at Arkansas would be tough. I think Bruce Pearl would coach his heart out trying to beat us, and so I’m thinking we don’t run the table there. There’s one or two stumbles in the ACC and maybe one in the PACMan conference. Purdue would give us problems because of their center.

Houston plays #16, 5
Alabama plays #14, 8
So while it’s a hard path, KU only has to beat two ranked teams to reach the final four. Alabama, Kansas, and Purdue beat two ranked teams in the same week once this year. Houston beat one ranked team all year.

I hope we get a chance to play that 3rd round game --whether UConn or not. Generally, I think a week to prep gives a slight advantage to us over almost any opponent. The 2nd round game is the pivotal game in my mind. It was a very close game last year as well. Could have gone either way. Once we got past Creighton, confidence flowed.

I don’t think the bracket is too bad. At least if we see UCLA/GONZAGA, it means were in the E8, and we have to beat a good team regardless. Playing UCONN with 4/5 days to prepare… not worried. Playing in KC doesn’t guarantee anything. Still got bad memories from Oregon… My biggest concern is the R32 game whether its Ark or IL. Remy saved us last year vs Creighton, who will it be this year?

Have you seen my multiple posts about UConn further up this thread? UConn doesn’t worry me much. The teams I’m most concerned about in order are Arkansas, Gonzaga, UCLA, St. Mary’s, TCU, UConn and then Illinois.

There’s definitely a hype train for Duke at ESPN. Every single person there has them at least in the Elite 8 and almost all of them have Duke in the Final 4.
I also don’t have much issue with the Duke hype at this point because it’s more warranted than the UConn hype. Their current 9 game winning streak includes wins over other tournament teams in 4 of their last 5 games. It took Scheyer a bit to figure things out and he’s got Duke playing some of the best ball in the country right now. They’ve only given up 70+ once during their streak so their defense is on point right now and I’m very glad they’re not our 5 seed. I know ORU was a popular upset pick before the bracket was revealed, but they got the best 5 seed of the bunch and I don’t them having enough to take down Duke.

@jayballer67 me too. Worked at SEMO for 3 years. Wife has a graduate degree from there. They missed too many freethrows and threw the ball away a lot. Refs didn’t help. Cape loves their basketball though, so this was a good year for the fans.

Snow ? - -what is Snow lol. - -Hell according to the weather people and Farmers, here in Kansas we were suppose to be in for one hell of a Winter , razy storms. LOL and I think we have had maybe , maybe 4 inches total snow for the entire Wintr Season lol. What is Snow ?
I always get the biggest kick out of it when people here bitch when we get a one or two inch snow talking about how they hate Winter & Snow. I just think and laugh can you imagine how the People on the East Coast think when People say that lol. - -Sorry to hear bud must be a real mess , don’t know what people here would do if it actually DID SNOW HERE LOL -hope it doesn’t cut your power where you can watch the game my friend

It has been feast or famine in my area most of winter. Is what it is up here in the Northeast.
Well it’s not looking good for tomorrow. Still don’t have cable/internet. Have power at least. Will have to watch on phone and hope have strong enough signal through cell service.

We don’t get the Lake effect, but this storm just seemed to move slow and keep circling over us and dumping heavy snow. Snowed for 24 straight hours and never slowed down in intensity.
I checked last night and could watch the Dayton games no problem on my phone but would suck to have to watch it through that instead of my 65 inch tv

Not sure I’ll have it back before then either. Nobody has any answers on when it might be back working. I have a scheduled tech coming next Tuesday so unless Comcast fixes the issue before then I’m screwed there

Would love 3” of precipitation. It’s in the 70s today, so it would come with some awesome wind, hail, and tornadoes, but three inches of moisture would be 3/4 of the total amount we had south of town last year. It’s disgusting

Was listening to some media with Norm and such interesting. - - Howard point guard shoots 47 % from the three , Howard loves to get out and run - which that is a BIG bonus for us- they like shooting a lot of 3’s - -gotta to guard that line run them off.
Thing is- -Juan has JUST GOT TO come into this tourney in an attack mode from the word go. He has got to start aggressive- - stay aggressive. - -KU a 21 1/2 point favorite not sure if we cover or not

Can you use your phone as a hotspot? I connect my laptop to my phone hotspot, pull up the game, and then run a HDMI cable to a hotel/cabin TV now and then when in a pinch.
I can’t stand watching basketball on a phone.
