He can go get drunk with Marsha and his wife. Maybe they can invite their old drinking buddy Chris Janz to come join the party ( if he has time).
-
@drgnslayr Austin is a lot like Lawrence, reversed. They live, breathe and bleed Longhorn football and tolerate basketball. I’m not saying this strictly because I’m a Jayhawk. I lived in Austin for a year, my dad’s been there for 40 or so. It’s the way it is.
-
A tale as old as time.
-
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I’m very upset. You know me, momma’s boy.
-
Not surprised. He’ll be coaching next year somewhere, i’ll bet. Maybe we should chip in and buy his gf a football helmet.
-
Some people want Greg Gard fired at Wisconsin and I saw someone pushing for Chris Beard or Sean Miller. I have no reason to be a Badger fan other than I lived there for 15 years of my adult life and I’d probably stop following the basketball team if they hired one of those guys.
-
Me, too!
-
The case was dropped because his girlfriend didn’t want to lose her meal ticket so she didn’t want to continue pursuing the charges against Beard.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 she saw the gravy train running dry. Someone else will pick him up which is ludicrous IMO. But look at a guy like Urban Meyer with his track record. I’m ok with some second chance but some of these coaches just appear to terrible human beings.
-
Wonder what the mother of his girls thinks? Maybe that’s why she’s his ex.

Coaching at this level is a cut throat industry and I’m sure there are many morally bankrupt people in positions that we don’t hear about their transgressions.
-
Beard will have a coaching job next year. Line set at even money.
-
@BeddieKU23 yep and he may have yet another new one the next year after UK fires Cal

Only waiting on Cal to clear the way. Kentucky still has the rule of thumb on the books I believe, so Beard won’t have to rehab his image any.
-
OH man, it’d be fun to hate Kentucky with Beard at the helm.
-
@Jayblaze Beard with that much talent would be a problem! Would make them the evil empire, the heels of college basketball. Just deplorable. I’d be for it.
(To be clear I don’t think Beard should be given a shot, but he likely will; I hope it’s at a school I detest)
-
@Jayblaze It’s fun for me to hate Kentucky if the Pope was at the helm. Or anyone else.
-
@dylans And Gregg Marshall could be his assistant.
-
Louisville? They seem desperate enough…
I wonder if Beard’s ability to recruit will be hampered.
-
If the moms help decide I think it will. He’s not innocent, she just dropped the charges. There were bruises and a bite mark on her. Fans will want him hired, not sure the schools will stoop low enough to do it. Maybe if he takes some domestic abuse classes, or they get counseling. WSU fans want him! A Wichita station did a spot last pm on Isaac Brown, think it was because it’s black history month. I missed the first part. He was talking about being the first black coach at WSU and other coaches that have backed him. He said Tang was one and talks to him after games frequently. I want him to do well, the (fans?) want him gone. Marsha’s BB family tree is riddled with misogyny and violence. Chris Jans and the NMS guy. Greggggg got a lot of money in his settlement, not sure that had to happen! Will he ever coach again?
-
Maybe Beard can be the new coach at NMSU. Could probably teach the kids how to skate.
-
@mayjay or greggggg
-
How about he goes to UK.

I’d put money on Louisville over Kentucky. I don’t see Kentucky being willing to deal with Beard’s baggage at this point. Louisville has always been more willing to sacrifice in that area in regards to coaches.
-
Talking to Ole Miss about their HC job according to reports
-
allegations of racism? no thank you. allegations of wife beating? come on down!
-
Just crazy! I suppose the restraining order is over and everything is just peachy. Bruises healed. Ugh!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 might just be espn armchair journalism
-
My first thought here was this is to get people to notice. He’s shown over his career he’ll leave anyone at the alter
-
Kentucky’s future coach. Just needs a year or two to rehab his image. He’s innocent ya know. (Insert Pinocchio emoji/blue )
-
It’s downright pathetic when we can predict (with probable accuracy) what’s going to happen.
-
Leading candidate for Ole Miss job. Gotta wonder how they don’t already know he’s leaving about as soon as a better job comes along and it won’t take much honestly
-
@cragarhawk The rumor that cracks me up is TexasTech has interest in Beard.
-
@dylans luckily atm it’s only a rumor. No real report of that.
Can you imagine how foolish that athletic department would look right now with that? Lol
-
Beard will fit in perfectly at Ole Miss. Next rumble he gets into with his GF, he can text Brandon Miller and his posse to bring him the firepower.

Expected to officially hire him in the next 24-48 hours per Goodman.
-
Will Wade got hired at McNeese St. yesterday. Should be a good chance to rehab his image since basically everything he did at LSU is within the rules now.
-
Who needs soap operas when the real drama is in college basketball?!
-
“Beard Arrested By Ole Miss?” I must have the headlines confused…
…or is this a premonition?
