I did a scientific analysis on today’s game and I have determined that Johnny Furphy is very good at basketball.

RE: Who would you keep for next year?
I respect y’all who are down on KJ and Juan and I understand why you’d like to see better talent in those starting slots. That said, a much higher consideration for me is just how much I’ve grown to know and like them both. I mean, as college ball becomes an annual revolving door I really cherish the guys who stay and develop. It’s waaaaay more fun for me to root for those guys than strange new faces. I’m more invested in the vicissitudes of the season. It’s more fun to be a fan. So Juan and KJ are tip tier keepers on my wish list, moreso even than Hunter and Furphy.

Dare I say Yesufu had an off-the-bench-spark type presence last night?

@stoptheflop I basically consider everyone on this site my research assistant.

RE: EMPEROR OF BASKETBALL
Reminds me of when Beasley came in as a protege of Frank Martin. Well above average coach pulled off a puddy tat recruiting coup and rode that for a few seasons. Only so far you can go in the little apple tho.

It’s wild how I continue to believe until basically the very end. I suppose it’s a habit from watching the Chiefs.

According to WeatherBug, the Hawks have come out very cold.

Like, I don’t merely want the Hawks to win it all; I want KJ and Juan to win it all, lol.

No fear, the future is wide open, playing with freedom thread
I’m shifting my attention to a reduced-personnel, nothing to lose Big 12 Tournament in which Bill Self gets to be creative with subpar (though still considerable) talent and a few guys who will figure prominently in the next few seasons. I want see development and improv and tenacity and a hell of a fun time!

RE: Other bball games
It helps us (maybe a little?) that Houston’s in a tough fight tonight and then has to travel home before we see them on Saturday.

I’m optimistic about The Marko’s impact next year.

RE: Bringing out the Reds game chat
@DanR I worry about his bball IQ. I mean, it’s potentially high, but so far, ain’t seen it.

RE: Bringing out the Reds game chat
@kjayhawks Yeah, agreed. Marko’s coming on. But at this point he can’t run the O.
