Marcus is playing 35 minutes a game this year, he can run point and guard the best player all game. He’s got to conserve energy at some point unless you want his gas tank empty by early February.

It wouldn’t be an issue today, but if he’s asked to everything all the time, Garrett will break down at some point. This is why you don’t see great defense in the NBA until playoff time.
