No guarantee, but based on all of the Gasnola testimony, KT was the connection for a lot of the accused violations so he’s the most likely fall guy if the NCAA tries to hammer KU.

I can already visualize the rug being rolled down Naismith Drive for Danny. The all-time scorer/rebounder will always have a home in Lawrence.
Who says he has to sit on the bench? Why not come back and be the John Lucas of Kansas basketball?

If Danny wants to coach I’m guessing he’d have to go down a notch. Everybody knows wakes a tough sell.

I don’t know what the future holds for Danny but I have serious doubts about him coming back. He was never a great or even good recruiter or a guy who would work like hell every day to outscheme opponents. He’s a terrific position coach for a spot that’s becoming less and less common. I hope he takes some time and learns what it takes to win at this level but we’ll see!

@FarmerJayhawk “Big Man” footwork is not positional. The best players utilize that footwork all over the court.

Danny had a timeless skill set for a big man. Not really the “shake and bake” post play of an Olajuwon, but definitely back to the basket moves, and then a plethora of scoring space moves on the floor. Lock down positioning to receive the ball without fouling. Drive off the dribble. Quick shots in the post and mid range. Shot fakes. Full court finishes… crossovers. Manning had it all! His game is still modern and as valuable as any big guy in the league. He is easily the guy I want coaching my bigs.
I don’t think he was ever cut out to be a head coach. He has the potential to be the best big man coach anywhere, and he should stay where his best skill set is.
He could open up a big guy school in Lawrence, helping KU and other big men outside of Lawrence.

Steve Forbes of East Tennessee St has landed the Wake Forest job. That’s a good hire for them. Forbes was really good at ETSU. Sucks for ETSU since Forbes signed 3 grad transfers and has 7 seniors on a team to make another tourney run they missed out on this past season.
