  • I like coach!

  • This is a good team but they have nothing to guard Doke

  • If I’m Colorado, box and one with athletic guy in Doke. Always a second defender to help on Doke. Beat me outside. Shut driving lanes.

  • Dam they’re big - looks like from players seeing the most moments they go 6’7 - -6’7 - - 6’0 - - 6’8 – & 6’10 - - - mercy that can’t be right.

Having said that they rebound at 38 at game - no impressive wins at all - -just play ou game we should be fine. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • 4 guards.

  • I’m going thru withdrawal, three straight games then this long break is breaking me. 😝

  • @HighEliteMajor did your kids go to bishop miege?

    killing me lol

  • Ricardo Patton got tired of having more Jayhawk fans at the games than the Buffs and was trying desperately to beat Kansas. So he had them sleep in the gym the night before the game.

  • Weird looking at pictures of where I live…

  • I’m expecting a close game in this one. KU needed the break after 3 games in 3 days but its a long time to sit given how the schedule played out. I’m sure the guys need the rest especially after Dotson and Agbaji went 45 minutes but this is a game Self will have to coach up the intensity.

Boyle will bring his group prepared and he’s got one of his best teams since he’s been there. They are Kenpom #9 defensively but #75 offensively so I think this will be a low scoring first half/game.

If KU can find some kind of flow offensively we should be able to get the ball into Doke in situations they cannot match up with at some point. I would bet the farm Boyle doubles Doke in the post. Moss & Agbaji will have to make some open looks. Dotson and Garrett getting dribble penetration could be key to breaking down their defense.

Their big man likes to shoot 3’s which always exposes our biggest weakness on defense. They are not a great shooting team. Their PG is good so that’s another good matchup for Dotson. Bey has been their best player and is averaging a double-double, he must really have a knack for rebounding because he’s not that big.

Colorado has held 4 teams under 53 points. They beat Arizona St in the opener, A-St lost by 3 to Virginia recently. They also own a 4 point win over Clemson. This will be by far the best team they have faced and is their first “road game” of the season. Hopefully Allen Fieldhouse isn’t kind to them

  • @BeddieKU23 I will be there and behind the bench, if self needs help🤣 just found out my friend had some tickets!

Nice scoop. I’ll be at the UMKC game in 2 weeks!

  • I sure wish Colorado was still in the Big 12. Still not sure that’s a better fit for Colorado. CO has its pot, MU has its Meth. Who gets the remaining Big 12 teams their drugs?

According to their roster , Bey is 6’7 - -not big - but not really small either, if he has some hops I could see him rebounding well

  • @HighEliteMajor When I was at KU in the 70’s, people talked about getting their pot from Colorado, and we just got our liquor from Missouri across State Line Rd in Brookside. I do remember getting Old Jayhawk Whiskey in Lawrence. Do they still sell it?

  • Notice Self screaming about Colorado coming to town? What good is it to climb in the polls if we lay a turd with Colorado?

It’s one test to stand up and fight hard with opponents who really challenge us, it’s another test to fight past the mediocre teams and not fall in their mediocrity trap!

I hope I reverse jinx them and we come out and thrash Colo.

  • @jayballer73

True I guess I must have thought he was a few inches shorter but whatever the case the kid can rebound. 4th in the country right now, 2 of his last 3 games rebound totals at 17 & 19. Also has 15 assists in his last 4 games. Tough matchup

Mercy, I didn’t realize that - - those are some pretty impressive numbers - not necessarily the best of competition - but still impressive I don’t care who it is

  • I wish co was still in our con. too. I remember riding the exercise bike at genesis during our comeback win in fb. I am a diehard fan. I was on that bike forever. Can’t remember the year. I also remember the win at El Paso? We had brothers on our team and their team. 👬

  • Buffs with their hands full tonight. Loyola Marymount going for the upset bid…it’s tied at the under-4:00 timeout.

  • CU pulling away now

  • @bskeet Yeah, they must’ve been looking ahead to the KU game. Finally woke up in time. LMU played well though.

  • Totally agree… some competitive basketball games tonight… and a couple surprising blowouts.

  • @mayjay No more "Old Jayhawk Bourbon’’ but you can find some old empty bottles online.

  • Now don’t get me wrong , not trying to sound over confident but , not to overly concerned with Colorado either. - -The Reason ? - -Well we are playing in the Phog - - -It’s Colorado 1st road game of the season - - -Their Schedule hasn’t exactly been top tier , their only one really decent opponent was the 1st game of the year beat Arizona State - others nothing to write home about.

They don’t shoot the ball worth a crap - they rank # 272 in the Nation in shooting the ball - -only shooting the ball at a 41.3 % clip - -Three point shooting pretty similar to ours they shoot @ 36.4 - - we shoot @ 35.8 they don’t score the ball that well 69.0 ppg , we are at 83.0 ppg.

they shoot free throws at 69.5 . we are at 66.2 - -they out rebound us right at 1 1/2 rebounds more - -nothing to get worked up about. The one thing is we have to be careful with Bey he averages 12 rebounds per game, and their leading scorer - can’t let him go nuts. - -I think we will be just fine. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @wrwlumpy what’s this?

  • That’s Red rocks amphitheater in the foothills of the Rockies south of boulder. I grew up in Denver - lotsa good concerts were held there. This was early 70’s- lotsa substances were consumed. Good fun times. I spent a decent amount of time in Boulder, messing around on the flatirons (those big slanted rock faces near the campus pictured nicely by mr. WrwLumpy) , once bit off more that I could chew there (pot and rock climbing do not mix- I was lucky to not slide to my death) . both my siblings and many of my friends graduated from CU. One memorable concert at CU’s football stadium on a very sunny hot afternoon in the early 70’s was the Grateful Dead… I and my best friend, we were 10th graders at the time, went and enjoyed the spectacle of many many mostly high concert- goers frolicking and gyrating to the music… I distinctly remember many female patrons beating the heat by going topless … we worked our way close to the stage which was at the north end zone, and not to long after, a guy came from the back of the stage dragging three very large heavy plastic bags. With the band still jamming away, he opened the bags which were all filled with hundreds of full ounce baggies of pot, each baggie containing rolling papers and matches, and proceeded to throw them out to the crowd. The crowd went into a roaring frenzy trying to catch as many as humanly possible as they were raining down, my friend and I stuffing as many as we could in our shirts and pants… it was a crazy melee and we almost got trampled by the surging crowds… a bit terrifying actually. Exhausted, we eventually fought our way back to the far end zone, and thinking we had just hit the lottery, proceeded to roll up a few joints, and spark them up… worst headache-inducing coughing-fit producing no-high-whatsoever pot ever. We just left all the ounce bags on the ground at that point… as did many people. But otherwise a memorable day, one of many that I had growing up in Colorado 🙂

  • @jayballer73

Kenpom has this game as KU favored by about 8.

It’s two good defenses and two different styles of play. Colorado is going to play similar to Virginia, work the clock on offense and limit possessions. KU is going to try and exploit Doke’s advantage in the paint and force turnovers to speed up the game a bit. As long as KU shows up they should win, especially at home

  • Well sure looked like a fool this morning lol. - -Here I am getting myself all amped up , getting ready for the game tonight , getting in my game mode looking forward to kicking back in my recliner and watching some KU Basketball and - -Dam just realized the game is TOMMOROW NIGHT- -not tonight lmao - -well there goes my day all to hell in hand basket - - it’s really sad to get old - - ER lol - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Seen this , some interesting little tid bits or the game tomorrow. Colorado has lost 29 games in a row against us in the Phog. Tad is 0-1 against us here lost in 2012 90-54.

Last time we lost was in 1983- - - -that’s when Tad was our starting Guard lol - -that’s wonderful. - - SO THERE YOU GO. – -rock chalk all day long baby

  • Question: For those of you that are local and go to the games: Does Tad get a really good ovation (I hope) when he walks onto the court?

I’m sure the fans will be respectful to Tad - -no reason not to. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • KU fans are always classy! Once a Jayhawk…

  • @jayballer73

Sounds like the difference in offense is we have Doke!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Respectful or ovation type of greeting?

  • @Hawk8086 I think he will get an ovation. I’ll get it started.🤩

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Great! You do that!

  • Finally game day, after waiting what seemed like a month since Maui!!!😝
