It was a good run. Thank you Jayhawks.

I don’t want to think about the conference at this point just want to think about winning tonight. KSU hasn’t swept us in a regular season series since 1983, we will find out a ton about this team tonight with how they respond to the beat down they just got.
This is where I am at. In order to have a chance to share the title this team would have to win two road games. The same amount they have won all season!
If this team has any heart and fight in them tonight should be there best game of the season.

Vegas has KU winning by 4-1/2.

Would take.

I’ll take any type of win, Dedric throwing it up from half court even. Just win

@truehawk93 Unless we somewhat collapse, I don’t think we will drop to a 6 or a 7. Most had us as a 3 prior to TT. 4-5 is probably more likely…obviously depending on how we look going forward.
We are ranked 15 and 16 respectively. Most have us at a 3 seed? Our resume may improve our seeding a bit. We beat MSU and Tennessee. Those wins may raise us from a 6 to a possible 5.
If we can hang around 12-15 or better, we could be a 3 and possibly a 2. But it will depend on the OU, OSU, BU games. It will also depend on the B12 tourney.
But our bad loss was WVU by 1pt. The ASU loss will hurt too, but not a bad loss. This may hurt our seeding. By a cancellation or wash, I see us ending roughly around a 4 ish. IF we remain strong and win out. IF we win the B12, that may bump our earnings to the #2-3 seed or #1-4 seed pending remaining performance.
This is where our pre-season resume will help a great deal and the other fans are going to beeotch. Kitty kitties are going to scream like little girls, but their pre-season was weak. Likewise, TT’s pre-season was weak too.
I’m being really generous with the purple pussies only b/c they are B12. I must say Weber was an idiot Monday. Gawd his players make him look good. He was a moron and clueless and Bilas called his 2 foul rule stupid. What coach benches a player with 2 fouls the remainder of a half? He’s a fool. Weber lost that game. He was lost and running into refs and players begging for mercy calls.

3-Michigan(8Nova, 11UNC) writers love Michigan
3-TT (11KU)* They played Puke tough on a neutral court, non-con weak, being in B12 will help seeding
3-Houston (18Oregon, 25Cin)

4-KSU (13KU)* Their non-con sucked
4-Nevada (20ASU)

Self is a master at non-con games and wins. It really does boost your resume for off seasons like this season.

Almost all bracketologist have KU as a 4 seed right now from what I’ve seen.
-
I think Houston has a let down as well as Marquette to free up that 3 seed. But we still have to tcob and I’m not sure we can
-
@truehawk93 Please understand that I have no respect for Bruce Weber as a Coach, but a LOT of coaches bench players with 2 fouls for the remainder of the first half. LOTS.
I personally think it’s not that smart, but it happens very frequently.
-
@nuleafjhawk Agree…it happens all the time.
-
I cannot for the life of me figure out how Marquette would be a #3 seed over KU. The difference in conference strength is not even close this year. The Big East is a 3-4 bid league tops this year while the Big-12 will likely put 7-8 teams in. Marquette has good wins- Lousville, Kansas St, Wisconsin, Buffalo, Nova. We have common opponent wins against Nova K-St plus a win over Marquette on Neutral floor. Maybe the edge is in the lack of bad loses for Marquette & a better road record…
-
@nuleafjhawk @Hawk8086 It’s one of the most baffling things in all of sports. It’s like there is some decree that says you must sit players with 2 fouls. If there isn’t a huge drop-off to the next guy I am okay with it but if there is you are just better off to play them. Refs don’t want to foul out good players (usually) plus let’s say you sit a guy for 10 minutes in the first half. That might absolutely bury you so what’s the point if he plays the rest of the second half. Maybe the player fouls out with 5 minutes left, maybe not.
-
@BeddieKU23 Zero chance the B12 gets 7-8 teams in. OU likely ends up 6-12 in conference and there’s no chance a 6-12 or even 7-11 record in conference gets an invite.
Texas probably ends up with 15 or 16 losses going into the NCAA tournament so there’s no chance of them staying in the field either.
TCU is also going to need help as they’re probably going to be 8-10 and have 13 losses overall going into the dance. TCU also doesn’t have a quality win out of conference so that’s going to hurt them as well.
B12 is going to be a 5, maybe 6 bid league at most this year.
-
OU is actually in the tournament as of today and their conference record is not being held against them. There’s a handful of teams with losing conference records with good chances of getting in. Not the same as other years
-
@BeddieKU23 I actually read a article yesterday talking about how weak the bubble was and that .500 in your conference will not matter this year. There are going to be some really bad teams get at-large bids this year.

But the remainder of the half? That’s foolish. I get his logic, but Wade fouled out any way. You just prolonged the inevitable and Wade fortunately, never got into a groove. The only player that played well was Stokes. Dotson did a bang up job on Brown. Sneed was the only other threat. We had a great game that neutralized them all.
Jay Bilas even said Weber benching with 2 fouls for the remainder of the half is not smart at all. I don’t think my problem is with doing it, but how long Weber sits them. Believe me, I’m not complaining. But I think Self could still outcoach Weber blindfolded with both hands tied behind his back and a Salvation Army bball coach interpreting Weber’s plays. Sorry, not impressed with Weber at all as a B12 head coach. He is likely the weakest coach in the B12. His players are the source behind his success. Can you imagine what Self would do with his team this year? Juniors and Seniors…are you kidding me?

I think what the “bracketologist” are saying is, they can’t do worse than a 4 seed at this point. I do think they will improve. I think KU can run the table if they play. But if OU sneaks a win, which I doubt and OSU lucks out, or if they beat only BU, I say they are roughly
#1-3 seed
#4-3 seed
I just don’t see KU being a 4 seed. They will be the strongest 4 seed. They will definitely be #1-4 seed, GUARANTEED. Their resume is one of the top in the country, and maybe the top 3.

Their conferences are weak too. But they both have a fair win that will keep them in the 3-4 seed range.

@BeddieKU23 An 8-10 B12 record is one thing, but a 6-12 Big 12 record which OU is staring at with games against KU and KSU left won’t get them in. Good chance OU is 19-14 on Selection Sunday with only 3 quality wins all season (Wofford and TCU ×2). If that’s how OU’s season finishes out, they won’t make the tournament.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 Gad, what has the world come to when a Big12 team has to rely on a victory over Wofford to establish its bona fides?
-
@truehawk93 I can see benching one, especially if Webber was hoping KU would implode in the 2nd half. But not both. Should have rolled the dice with one of them at least.
-
Bill does the same thing. It’s not 100% that they’ll sit the whole rest of the half, but until recently he would banish players with 2 fouls to the bench for the half esp if there is less than 5 minutes left. He also sits them with four fouls until less than 5 minutes dare left as well.
Wade isn’t 100% and ended up fouling out, so it’s hard to say this was a terrible call. The other kid probably should have been allowed to play thru his foul problems though. Guards typically can adjust their game better to avoid calls than big men.
I just hope Weber can scew up a game down the stretch to give KU a chance.
-
I think it depends on the player and the game if you sit them the whole time or not. When I was coaching sometimes with the flow of the game we had to play a player with 2 in the first or the game could’ve got outta hand. A senior like Wade should be more than capable of playing at least for a few minutes with 2 fouls. If I’m not mistaken he got his second with about 8 minutes to go. I would’ve sat him for a few and told him to play softer on D.

I think the even worse call was playing Wade when he was clearly hurt.

@dylans Oh he will.

Wofford is currently ranked 24th, that’s a good win this year. It’s also another top 25 win for KU since KU is one of their 4 losses as well.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 We mopped the floor with them 72-47. Granted it was early but there a team I’d look for an upset, SDSU aswell.
-
@BShark yes. He was clearly not 100%. That’s why it would be an easy call to limit his minutes and mask it by sitting him with fouls. But that gives Weber way too much credit. What actually happened is Weber played an injured Wade in an attempt to beat their hated in state rival, possibly at the expense of postseason success.
-
Ol Squeaky’s response to Wade is yes-t he is at about 60% - -70% - -BUT - -an unhealthy Dean Wade is better then no Dean Wade roflmao - -that’s really good Coaching philosophy - way to look out for your player’s interest their Squeaks lol - WOW
Say Wade needs to practice - -needs practice lol. - He needs rest is what he needs - - you risking this kids foot even worse - you gonna screw him/it up BIG TIME - OL Squeak is just wanting something - - anything at all costs - no mater if he really jeopardizes someone or not - -Good looking out .
Squeak crying like some snifling bitch about having to play on a Saturday night and then have to play on a Big Monday lol - -ahhh poor lil Bruce it’s ok -you need a hankie - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer73 I remember lots of arguing on this board when Embiid sat out. “Can’t hurt it any worse” “Can, too” “Cannot” etc etc etc

The Silver lining to The Streak likely being over is that we should see a few highlight reels about Kansas celebrating it. The downside is that I’m sure they won’t hesitate to mention Adidas problems as the last bookend.
-
Okay, super silver lining here: if we would’ve obliterated the record, I think it would lose legitimacy. I’m kinda glad we’re done at 14.

Before we all get angrier and angrier tonight, let’s remember no ones done this before and it likely wont be repeated.

the streak unraveled according to ESPN’s front page.
-
@BeddieKU23 They don’t say a word about our streak until it’s over. Now it’s big news.
-
The Streak is Dead, long live the Streak. As the bodies began to pile up, we knew this was the year.
I am amazed that the Mystical power of Allen Field House became stronger. We’ve always had consistent scorers (Plural). We had to become a one trick pony in a powerhouse conference that had a good coaches at a couple school that brought back lots of Veterans (Texas Tech and cough, cough Bruce.)4 Freshmen. Remember, the best thing about Freshmen is that they become Sophomores.

Back up the Brinks Truck. This man is going to be very, very rich.

Would we take him if Self left for San Antonio?

(I’d take him in a heartbeat)
-
Realistically…what are the odds of Self going to San Antonio? And is that a question of when and not if?
-
Now we find out if it was the pressure of the streak that prevented KU from winning NC’s, as promised by-- [Whacked, upside the head! “Hush!”]
-
I just don’t see Self leaving right now. You don’t build what he built and then tuck your tail and run at the first sign of true turmoil. And I’m talking about the FBI stuff not winning the conference. He has a lot of pride in KU and what he has done. To me it would be way out of character for him to just leave and let some else clean up his mess.
