Other Games Tonight

  • Not sure how to feel about KSU winning. Certainly hurts ISU, which is good…but KSU now has a road win that we don’t have. WVU lost at home to OSU…they are in a world of hurt.

  • Isu losing is good!

  • Need tt to lose

  • Tech going to win sadly.

Also there’s no way Duke/FSU is going to finish before Kansas/Baylor starts.

  • go FSU make Dukie V cry

  • ISU loss just continues to look awful.

  • Per usual Arizona st sucks after beating ku

  • @BeddieKU23 who? Watching wichita

  • @Crimsonorblue22

They got crushed by Stanford today. Believe that’s 3 losses since they bought the refs to beat us

  • Another L for Marsha. I bet his wife has been tippin back the good stuff with this season headed for a disaster

  • Yeah, Jerrod haase! Saw New Mexico lost too. Weird fact

  • I read their blog, just read it. I think they have given up. Lost coaches and lots of transfers. Teddy buckets didn’t get cleared, weird they thought he would. Closer to Nebraska for his support group? Man do they hate us!

  • @Crimsonorblue22

Yeah teddy’s situation was odd however from what I saw last year on wv board he was told to explore other options and was suspended a bunch of times so I’m sure that didn’t help his case. The offseason turnover is bizarre, certainly doesnt look like kids enjoyed playing for marsha

  • Austin reaves was pretty darn good and evidently he was Marsha’s daughters bf. I don’t know what happened, they hint around. But I’m pretty sure that was the main reason.

This and at ISU were terrible losses. This KU team is weird.

They have enormous short guy syndrome when it comes to KU. Probably worse than any grapes I know. Marsha is perfect for them, and plays up that aspect. I loooove seeing them this bad. The shit talk has been great. 0-3 in their league now, 7-8 overall. If they were in the valley, they’d probably make the tournament this year…

    He was a bad boy.

  • Marshall should’ve gotten out when he could. He effed that one up and now likely won’t be looked at for a bigger job in the future.

Maybe he just wants to stay in Wichita and keep raking in Koch money.

  • Even they will tire of him.

  • @BShark what did reaves do?

  • @BShark He could’ve gone and made $4-5 million a year after two years ago. I think he messed up not taking the UCLA job awhile back when they were interested.

  • Fair point. Really depends on what Marshall wants out of his career. He can likely stay at WSU forever.

  • @BShark unless he or his wife go fruit loops!

you talking about Marsha’s Group hating us? - -Hell it would be easier to say who DOESN’T hate us lol. - yet if that’s is THAT group your talking about , well I sure the hell not losing any sleep if they hate us or not lol - - couldn’t happen to a better school - with the transfers and people leaving early - -people who have graduated - I’m listening really hard , kind of funny I just can’t quite hear them beating their chests quite as hard now - - don’t hear them talking quite as much smack now.

Their little4-5 year mini run -them trying to run with the BIG DOGS is officially over , they have now fallen back to their sad little mediocre brand of ball -dam that makes my little heart hurt - -psssssssst - -dam that hurt me to say that = =Sorry Marsha. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Not sure , but I’m kind of thinking I bet if they had it to do all over again - I think HUGGY would love having Teddy back this year. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Wasn’t Austin Reaves their guard that could stroke the ball pretty decent for them? - -Did he Transfer? ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

He was a bad boy. Lmao , now you stop that. You know how powerful the Valley is - you better just be nice or Marsha - OR Marsha will just take his ball and go home - -Right back to the old " ROUNDHOUSE " - -guess that isn’t what they call that now huh? - -Isn’t just Henry Leavitt Arena now - -just so confusing lol. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73 he transferred to Oklahoma.

Mercy - -where the heck am I at lol

  • @jayballer73

He was shown the door but yeah that WV team could use some talent. I’m not going to complain though, huggy had a good run but this season is a rebuild.

I was listening to a Wichita radio station sports talk show earlier this morning. Of course they were crying about WSU’s most recent loss (and WSU’s entire season), complimenting KSU and saying they would get to KU later. But then, they brought up SDS and said that KU is now willing to admit wrong-doing and plans to “draw a line in the sand” with the NCAA as to when SDS will play again. They went on to compare the Teddy Buckets failure to get a waiver so he could play after he transferred from West Virginia to WSU to the SDS situation. They said WSU folks would be up in arms if SDS gets cleared when Teddy didn’t because SDS is guilty of wrong doing and Teddy made the “mature” decision to transfer closer to home (family in Nebraska) because he needed to get his life turned around. They didn’t mention that Huggy told him to explore other options nor did they mention any suspensions he’d received while at West Virginia. Sad WSU homies😒

  • Kentucky beats unranked 7-7 Texas A&M and unranked 9-6 Vanderbilt at home and moves up 6 spots in the latest AP poll.

Translation: 90% of the voters didn’t know both teams stink but they won so why not

The big name schools just about always get this treatment.

  • Old news now but Dook drops one to Syracuse at Cameron while being 17 point favorites. I just watched the highlights and the refs tried their damndest to give it to Dook. They were down one in the closing seconds and Zion got a foul call with absolutely zero contact. No one ever mention it again because its Dook but wow.

  • @kjayhawks

Jay Bilas did say “there wasn’t much there” which is about as good as your going to get with a duke alum

I watch the whole game, wasn’t poorly officiated imo.

Duke wins that game going away if Jones didn’t get hurt or Reddish isn’t sick. With both, might have won by 20. But you play the cards you’re dealt. Still goes down as a loss

It did show how lacking Dukes depth was. But it also showed how good Zion and RJ are that they can damn near win a game 2 on 5

  • @Kcmatt7

Yeah the box score is crazy. Very little scoring production for most of them. White who is usually reliable from 3 couldn’t hit a barn. O’Connell had his best game of the season after playing like 1 minute against Florida St. Great individual performances mixed in by the future Top 3 picks in the draft have covered all the holes they have. I’ve been impressed (I hate to admit) that guys like Bolden, De Laurier, White have given them enough complimentary roles to be as good as they are

It makes you wonder what will prevail in March. 4 really good players such as Duke has or a team with depth etc like KU.

  • Less fouls, depth is partially negated by all the timeouts during the tourney. Still nice to have, but it’s harder to run teams into the ground.

  • @Kcmatt7 I didn’t watch any of it outside of highlights and what little bit before they started the KU game on ESPNNEWS. I’m just saying if KU got that call, it’d be all over the front page of every newspaper from here to china.

  • Playing through KC seems a lot less likely than I had thought to start the season.

The last time we played in KC we crapped our pants under pressure. I would be okay with Jayhawk Nation having to travel outside friendly territory if it meant this current squad would focus on the task at hand and not have some inherent pressure to play well close to home. Just a thought though.

  • I’m not a fan of the way KU plays in the Sprint Center. It’s a friendly crowd, but it’s definitely not like a home game.

  • @BeddieKU23 last time?

  • Duke will be a #1 seed. We know it right now. They are probably the best team overall as well.

  • @dylans we looked dang good in the big 12 tourney w/out doke. Didn’t we play Roy there? It’s all in your head🤯🤣

  • Where would Kentucky be without Hagans reclassing?

I don’t buy Duke being the best team overall a last night is why. They have no depth to deal with injuries or foul issues and Tre Jones misses the rest of the season, they won’t make a run. Even with Jones, I don’t think they win it this year.

Michigan would be my pick right now to win the title even against a completely healthy Duke team.

I would also put money on Tennesee and Gonzaga before Duke right now.

Duke is obviously one of the elite teams in the country and I wouldn’t be shocked if they did win the title this year, I just don’t think they’re the best team in the country right now because of their lack of depth.

I also wouldn’t have them being a 1 seed as a lock right now either. With the Tre Jones injury, I could see them drop a 2-3 more games. I don’t see them beating Virginia on Saturday and I could see them drop 3 of 4 to NC State, UNC, Syracuse, and VTech next month if Jones is still out or less than 100%.

That would drop them to the 2 line most likely with UVA, Tennessee, Michigan, and Gonzaga getting the 1 seeds. I think Duke, Kansas, Michigan St., and Nevada end up as the 2 seeds this year.
