@nwhawkfan gotta run the board here
Amen

Still think we should have fouled at the end, that three was dead on, just an inch short of sending us to OT. I don’t get it
-
But I do get we won tho
-
Who knows what happens at KSU? Scares me, dirty guys and fans!

I thought doke was going to cry with Holly for a sec
To be honest I almost did too and I’m not an emotional guy

RCJHGOKU Baylor is not a #1 team and I wouldn’t necessarily say we are either, but today, we just beat the consensus #1 in the nation. It’s going to kill the writers because it doesn’t fit their narrative. Baylor is a good shooting team, quick, and athletic. But they have no inside game and they run nothing except through their backcourt. It was their weakness all year. We finally defended well enough to grind the W.
Great game and we now have at least a share of the B12. Baylor has nothing to be ashamed. We need them to represent in the March dance.
-
@StLJhawk I do, a lot of misses are just a fraction off, self probably wanted to gamble on our great D, rather than och reaching over on a missed free throw.

Not fouling has always been Self’s philosophy in that situation because of how much pride he takes in playing good defense.
-
Some observations:
The officiating sucked.
Agbaji needs to play better. He looked afraid the entire game.
Scott Drew got dunked on all day because he couldn’t make in-game adjustments defensively.
Doke is a God.
-
Ochai wasn’t bad defensively, he’s just had terrible game on offensive. We all just need to remember he’s hardly even a sophomore with missing half of the season last year and this was easily the biggest game of his career.
-
Man my heart is racing

Selfs way

I really hope there’s this series ends up a trilogy this season in KC. These legitimately are 2 of the 4 best teams in college basketball this season and the atmosphere inside Ferrell Center was incredible today. Only thing comparable I’ve been too was mid to late 2000’s Texas in Austin.
-
-
What that old saying… pride cometh before a fall in overtime? One inch more and Drew would have looked like the better coach and that would have been so awful. but, didn’t happen and the good guys win.
Doke, wow he manned up big time, his best game ever.
-
To win a NC we are going to have to learn how to finish a game. This one could have gone bad easily. Villanova. Lack of execution down the stretch against Duke cost us then too.
-
@wissox I’m okay with Ochai never inbounding in pressure spots again.
-
@StLJhawk you can say that with 20 different plays on both sides in a game this close. If Moss hits that 3 he was short on with 2 minutes to go if Ochai hits one of his 2 wide open ones or his lay up. I would’ve done the same as Bill with how good Vital is on the glass.
-
@BShark +1000
And maybe after 10 or 20 misses don’t let him shoot either
-
@BShark love it love it!

@kjayhawks good points, but still, it just seemed the safer way. But then again, I ain’t the hall of fame coach. In Bill we trust

You love to see it.

@BShark no doke last year
-
@BShark 🥰️
-
@DanR where were u today?
-
@BShark huge game for Dokes draft stock imo
-
Decent reason, but I think I still would’ve fouled https://twitter.com/chuckcarltondmn/status/1231300375573139459?s=21

Team chemistry last year: 3
This year: 9,001
Last season: 113.9 offensive efficiency, 92.3 defensive efficiency.
This season: 114.9 offensive efficiency, 83.9 defensive efficiency.
Might change a bit after the game today, but it’s obvious where they’ve improved.

Where we at with dokes dunks? %?

74.2% career FG after this game. Would be the record, going to go down to the wire on that probably.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich no one has to look at stats to see how much better this team is than last year.

Yes, I’m referring to road games I’ve specifically been to.
-
The Bram is really fun for KU games. Sat in the student section once decked out in crimson and blue and had a great time
-
Really liking not being swept by Drew this year too
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I’m glad you got to go today and I agree the atmosphere looked great probably will only be topped by the goat ropes in Manhattan as far as what we will see on the road.
-
We have doke this year!
-
@wissox I thought coach left Dok in too long during the last minute when KU was having trouble getting the ball in bounds. KU needed another ball handler in the game, not Dok down at the other end of the court. I think Dok was in until the 7 sec mark. No offense to Dok; he won the game for us today. We just needed a fifth, great FT shooting guard in the game when we were desperately trying to in bound the ball. Great win.
-
@stoptheflop Braun?

Actually, it probably doesn’t but I still thought this was funny… <blockquote class=“twitter-tweet”><p lang=“en” dir=“ltr”>Final Score:<br><br>#3 Kansas 64<br>#1 Baylor 61<br><br>12 wins in a row for the Hawks! <a href=“https://t.co/JH8pWR8ZJT”>pic.twitter.com/JH8pWR8ZJT</a></p>— Kansas Jayhawk Fans (@FansOfKU) <a href=“https://twitter.com/FansOfKU/status/1231295924225368064?ref_src=twsrc^tfw”>February 22, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src=“https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=“utf-8”></script>

well that was an ugly paste, not sure how to get a pic or a twitter in here, but it was a funny pic anyways
-
@BShark how many dunks?
-
-
@kjayhawks Great Pic and a keeper too
-
Liked this quote giving coach some love from 24/7 sports…
“ Make no mistake. Saturday’s game was a coaching clinic — a masterpiece. It was a reminder that when Self has extra time to prepare he introduces wrinkles opposing coaches are seldom anticipating. It’s why his record in NCAA tournament rounds with extra preparation days — the Round of 64, Sweet 16 and Final Four — is 16-2 over the last decade.”
-
@StLJhawk yep I’ve been saying that for several years. Self seldom loses the first game of the weekend in the tournament. That second game is always the one that worries me.
-
@StLJhawk Yep. The problem tends to be that pesky 2nd game in quick succession.
-

@Bwag I will take points like that every time. Fortunately, Moss made both FT’s so it doesn’t matter now.
Just relooked at that play and agree with you. Doke was wide open under the basket and the Baylor player was nowhere near. Thinking Doke could have dunked for worst case and and-one opportunity.
Still not sure of Moss’s passing ability but should have been able to not screw that up.
