@Crimsonorblue22 yep. Not broken. Momentary light affliction from a mountain bike crash.
-
@Bwag ice! Your dominant hand?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 yep. That’s what my wife makes me do. Off hand but after another injury on other finger I’m down to a thumb and 2 fingers .
But if there are any MTB’s on here and want to come down to NW Arkansas, hit me up.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 thanks!
-
@Bwag mtb’s? Not good w/initials. I figured that’s all u need to do dishes, not sure about your job🥴

Mountain Biking- MTB.
Not work - play!

Anyone else concerned about another game with very little bench scoring? Only Braun scored. Only 6 shot attempts by nonstarters. WV got 20 points from its bench
-
@stoptheflop Weird game, low-scoring, so not too worried. Interesting that Braun played the entire second half without coming out (like Dot and Ochai).
What happened to Enaruna? Only played 1 minute.
-
Self said he’d give us a passing grade? Need moss och and ? Tristan to make shots. Can’t rewind. Sounds really bummed about moss
-
@tundrahok just guessing he didn’t do much, great guess huh?
-
Moss is hard to play if he’s not hitting 3’s because he doesn’t really fill up the stat sheet any other way. There will probably be a handful of games where his 3-point shooting is very helpful to winning, though. This was not one of them. Kansas was 3-17 from deep today.
19-30 from the free-throw line. But if I’m remembering right, we were 3-10 from the line at one point, which means we shot 16-20 (80%) after that.
-
Enaruna came in, made a horrible play and promptly went to the bench.
-
A good win on paper and we finally finished a tight game. But man that was ugly to put it nicely. The 6 bench points are frustrating, Moss was a ghost with Tristan and Silvio has major issues. I’m not sure where to even start with him, air balling a 4 foot shot that’s wide open. Would suck to get sanctions over a guy that’s only been effective in 3 games in his entire career. Dotson continues to force up shots in the lane instead of kicking it out, resulting in turnovers and his 15/45 shooting performance the last 3 games. If we want to win anything this season he has to play better end of story. The effort put forth in the rebounding department this afternoon was elementary at best, out rebounded 44 to 30. Rarely does a team shoot the way we did and rebound like that to win the game. Not sure if it’s just me but the last 5 or 6 years more often than not we don’t look ready to play. Not sure if the guys are out partying til 2 am or what but we had no energy or give a damn for the first 15 minutes today.

Absolutely agree. Braun otoh is a Marc G type that impacts the game in a multitude of ways.
-
@kjayhawks This is typical Bill Self. Game is tight and he rides 5-6 guys.
-
Ugly game but it’s a win against a team that has become a big thorn in our side year after year. Since West Virgina came into the league they have given us fits almost every game.
Marcus, Doke and Braun get the game balls. Without marcus making that tough lay in and 2 fts we dont win this game. Hes big time
-
Had to stream the game on my phone (was at a bday party) and the quality was really good and convenient to be able to see the game away from home. Couldn’t contribute much to the game thread but happy for the W. Thought Dotson really struggled again. Hopefully he gets out this slump

Ride or Die with the guys who were playing well

Not his game. He will get other chances but Braun is replacing him quickly

Every time.
Braun is really moving up the list. Did not see this coming based on early returns.
-
@BShark very true just disappointed in everyone on the bench not named Braun.

Yeah, could have played out differently if he didn’t go full derp.
-
I feel better w/game in marcus’s hands than dot’s, at the end.

Honestly Braun might not be coming off the bench much longer. Trying not to overreact but he does a lot of things that make Bill love/play you.

He is becoming a really nice player. 4 straight good games. Self was right about him, he is a gamer

@BShark he does a lot of things crims loves too!
-
Get ready for a lot of these ugly games in the 50’s and 60’s today. KU also played essentially 6 men today.
-
@BShark He was crashing the boards hard today to the point of tackling people and was just on 50-50 balls in general. Only had 1 assist, but I thought he made some nice passes that weren’t rewarded with made shots. He’s a decent ball-handler and doesn’t force things. It’s already been said a million times but the guy just seems to get it.
-
Moss gotta find another way to help the team when his shots not falling,

Didnt play much either but he saved us last game. Just how he is I guess
-
U think all our games will be tough? I kinda do.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 KState and Iowa St are pretty bad. Thinking at least our homes games against them won’t be too bad. But KState is a purple team and Top 5 teams have been struggling with or losing to bad purple teams this year so I don’t know. You’re probably right, they’ll all be hard.
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich great impact on defense too.

Yep. This is who he is.
-
Doke, Tristan and Ochai should all have games where they make big plays on both ends. I think those three plus Braun and Marcus should start. We need a 4-1 and so Tristan is the guy by default, because Dave isn’t a 4 ever, and Silvio is awful atm. I’d play those 5 and let Marcus be primary handler until Dotson demonstrates that he can be more than a scorer.
-
@approxinfinity no way
-
@BShark which part?
-
@KirkIsMyHinrich we will struggle @ KSU, probably worse than most years because usually they are solid defensively but we are good offensively. Last season was an L because we sucked on offense, this year we look a little better but will struggle against defensive teams like we did today. Has a second round exit written all over it to me.
-
@approxinfinity can’t bench Dot
-
@kjayhawks ksu is truly horrible
-
Move him to 2 spot, take him out at times
-
Foul! Isu tcu game
-
@BShark agreed but they’ve had teams they didn’t make dance beat us before and we all know it’s their super bowl. It should be a 30 point game here and 15 point game there but I’ve seen us coming into that building asleep too many times in the past hand full of years.

5 guys played >30 minutes, 4 guys played 10 minutes or less. Bimodal distribution.
-
After today’s game, I’d burn Wilson’s redshirt if he’s able to go in the next few weeks to help find some bench production.

The offense is honestly worse than last year. The difference this year is the defense is much better. KU hasn’t allowed more than 73 points in regulation in a game this year and only given up 65+ in a game 3 times this year.
That quality of defense can carry a team deep into the tournament, especially in a year without an elite team.

BShark said:

yup, exactly what @Crimsonorblue22 said. not suggesting we bench him, just move him to the 2.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 very true, this team has potential to be great on that end of the floor. But KSU always sucks on offense and will go on droughts pretty much every game. Last year is hard to tell because of much better we were with Doke and Vick with his head outta his rear end. We had Dedric shooting it 14-20 times to just get 20 points.
